Simply smiling when you feel fear is immensely powerful

    4:31 is GOLD for me.
"We have to have your resistance show up, so that you can transform it over time."
Resistance can be looked at as dreadful or as a blessing, because that means we have an opportunity to transform and change ourselves from our past circuitry if we overwrite it. I see resistance as the last wall to the change you want to be. Its a tough climb but not impossible!

Old post, but you are correct. I'm working on reworking the way I view the fear when my anxiety flares up so that I can start re-wiring my brain, but being able to be truly IN the moment and accepting of it, or facing it and letting your amygdala learn by experience is so, so hard to do.

This can also apply to anger as a negative emotion/attitude vs love as a positive emotion/attitude as well as other negative emotions/attitudes, i.e. not just fear.

thanks. Good explanation. However, please provide de more examples to make it easy to understand that concept of bringing in positive emotion and then moving ahead

This is exactly what I was looking for - how to transform fear into intention - into the action or state I wanted. Thank you!

This practice worked profoundly and immediately for me. I am so grateful to you Dr Wilson. I have just recently passed it on to my daughter as she’s preparing to go to the dentist 💐

I have so many positive things in my life. Why am I so anxious? My voice gets shaky when I talk to people and once that starts it seems to make me more nervous and it just gets worse from there.

@@lanajovic6259 Hey Lana, I have pretty much exact same OCD thoughts. I have what you call health OCD and fear of going crazy is very very common to OCD sufferers. It takes practice, a lot of practice, but you have to look at those thoughts just as thoughts. They are stories made by your OCD to make you do compulsions such as checking - I am sure you are a pro at google searches like me -, avoidance, asking for reinsurance to others people. You have ignore the content. The content is only that content because it use things you matter in life. I have many many differents OCD thoughts and whatever they are you treat them the same way. Would advice you to follow a cognitive therapy :)

  • @renatasafonova9109

This hard to do bicouse you always want treat yourself. Its not working then. You should accept its not treatable and ten go with things in your head.
