@@sledrider908 some of the HQ products might be good for airsoft/paintball simulation but as you say not for real duty and what most people miss is that most stuff for military use is NIR "near infrared" camoflaged not to stand out as a beacon in night vision systems.

I've seen a player who fell onto a metal rod and it penetrated his plate carrier and the medical staff had to use the quick release to apply aid and stabilize him. I can see where you are coming from but from personal experience I prefer plate carriers with the feature. (Note the field was an old steel warehouse that just opend)

Defcon 5 is pure airsoft tier quality. can't compare with crye, TT or other military oriented companies. (im not gonna say "milspec" since ive seen shit in the army that was worse quality than airsoft replicas)

The reason to buy real gear for me is authenticity. I’m making an SAS CT CQB kit, so having the Nomex III Assault suit and SF10 respirator is important. However, if you use an AR, not an MP5, the pigskin Assault Vest may not be the best option. Really it’s all about functionality

When I first started out I used my issued M90 uniform, it sucks so I went to airsoft uniforms instead. I didn't like Emerson because of ripping but it was the only thing available if you wanted combat uniforms instead of BDUs. I then went with Invader Gear, love their stuff! I transitioned to Patagonia because I wanted "real stuff" however I didn't like patagonias design so I went with Crye instead, I like their Drifire uniforms because they give me a fair price as well as "real stuff". And that's what I'm currently using, waiting for the AOR1 pants and in furutre I'll complete my AOR2 set with pants as well. Great video!

Great video, however I will disagree with you on the point about 5.11, their equipment is legitimate gear. SRT, Swat and some special units in the military have and do run the 5.11 carriers, and defiantly the different pants that 5.11 makes. Also a note on condor, the MOPC that they make was probably one of the first affordable carriers with mesh facing your body and creating air flow. Also know a few guys who've run them for a long time and they tend to hold up. I will say they're aren't the best but for the guy on a budget and wants lvl 3 armor (lets say for a small police department) then condor gear will work. But basically its simple, you get what you pay for.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @TheBBWarrior
      @TheBBWarrior  7 лет назад

I think 5.11 isn't the worst, but it isn't the best either. As for the MOPC, the issue I have with them is the mesh you mentioned, the closer for the plate bag is connected to that mesh. on top of that, the retaining strap inside of the plate pocket is often left unfinished with exposed threads and not sown centered to the plate bag. While it is a popular option that is used often in LEO/MIL you have to remember that the Gov doesn't buy what's best, it buys what it gets the best deal on. Uncle Sam is quite the bargain hunter. Although comparing the two I'd rather have 5.11 over Condor any day of the week.

Lol, that shits lasted me through Army Cadets where we did lots of ruck marches and even expedition training. Also Think about the Milsim Events and NOT only about airsoft. People might want to go with cheaper because not everybody has the money but Emerson and TMC works just find for years. You don't have to buy expensive or "real" company for airsoft. Just remember that a company is always a company and everything is real.

Good video all around, but I'd like to say one thing. Here in Sweden, we have a Milsim/Mil.ex game host who offers maritime warfare. In this particular scenario, the emergency doff handle is worth its weight in gold, not drowning from all the gear is pretty nifty. Other than that, yeah it's quite useless.
In the Real vs Fake debate, I'm in the "real steel" camp for 99% of my stuff. There are many reasons for this.
    1. Quality. I do have a tendency to wear my stuff out. I play a lot. Almost every weekend year round, so I feel it's a good investment.
    2. Supporting Companies that I believe in. I wish to buy products from companies that I feel do a great job. Like Haley Strategic, Mayflower/Velocity systems and so on. I get good shit, and they get my greens and all are happy. (Y)
    3. Need. I buy products because of the features primarily. The name brand companies spend many hours to TnE and many times this shows in clever features. This is what I look for when I buy stuff these days. I also only buy what I need, and not one thing extra.
When it comes to gear, I do think that you should go through the "pyramid of quality", like you described. I did this as well and it is only now, 10 years of playing, later that I actually made it into some top notch shit. Go out and play, get experience in what you need, and in what you'd want in gear. I feel it might be necessary to suffer through some cheap shitty gear to really appreciate the good stuff, and understand what makes it better.

    Why I choose affordable options
Local tailor made in my case,
Granted they're tailors that work and live in my country's armed force housing complex, so they do cater to the armed force
I do not expect to go to real battles with these, these are toys and hobby,
As much as they are nice to have, I don't need Real Steel grade tactical gear to carry toy guns the money can be spent on upgrade parts or another airsoft gun instead

I honestly don't understand guys using real plates in their carriers. I understand that they are meant to be rigid when worn but you can get plastic plates that will do the exact same thing, just seems goofy to me. Also people using name brand legit sights on a airsoft gun, spending 300-400 dollars on a real holo sight to shoot bbs at people 50-100ft away is insane. Most people I run into with sights don't even zero them either so its basically worthless haha
