Been a fan of your music and specially your whole aesthetic concept since the live rendition of Love Is The Message. I absolutely love what you are doing and admire you even more because you do it on the drums and that's more difficult in the industry. The things you and those musicians express are beyond words. You are truly an artistic inspiration for lots of us. If you ever come to Chile to play a show I'll be definitely there
Bro I am from the Bay Area and I listen to Love is the Message at least 3 times a day. We need Yussef, Alfa Mist, and Mansur Brown to his the states for a US tour like ASAP
One love King. You right on my wave. I went to go see Tom Misch in Oakland at the Fox Theater when he came out here for his Geography Tour. Man he blew the roof off the joint. It was a Tuesday night and my soul was on so much fire I had to take the rest of the week off from work. Also peep Braxton Cook and Sampha too. Lord I need a cigarette
@@theinfamouspokeinrichmondc3543 Thanks for putting me up on game !!! Im finna check out all three of those cats you just mentioned ✊❤💪. By the way...you aint poke from the "hobo junction" crew are you?
Yussef Dayes is tough. Him and his associates make great music. This is the great jazz era again but modern. I don't even know if it is jazz but it is great!
I listen to a lot of BADBADNOTGOOD and I’be heard it referred to as Neo-Jazz or New Jazz. I think it’s mostly because of the inclusion of synth/electronic elements. I love Jazz throughout the ages, but damn this such a natural evolution. So good.
The synergy between band mates is what makes a great band. Vocals adds ego and ego kills the art. The emotion is in the talent of each individual instrument. You shouldn’t need to be told what emotion to feel.
Now i don't even remember exactly what motivated me to leave such comment, but I guess its a kind of philosophical objection to the other guy's stance on art. Point one: Vocals not necessarily equal words. For me, pink floyd's "great gig in the sky" conveys a lot of emotions using only the melodic, rhythmic, "instrumental" qualities of voice. Point two: visuals or sound can carry as much or more meaning than words. It doesnt matter whether you see a beautiful dark skinned gir in front of a painting, or you hear about the "smile that she shows makes me a go-getter". Its all about the emotion a piece evokes within the consumer. Granted, a lot more information can be exchanged using words - that's why we use them. But there are paintings more meaningful than poems. There are meaningless words and meaningful shapes. Point three: Anything you do, whether you consider it art, craft or labor, whether you use words or tools, whether you explicitly convey a message or not, your ego is part of the process. And its nothing bad. Its not like we could get rid of it. Ego doesnt damage art, its what makes it art Unless you're particularly uninsightful, you can think whatever you want about any piece of art ever created. You can complain that the message is shallow or biased, that its stupid or wise or deep. But you could say the same thing about a song without words. Sorry its a bit messy
Just got turned on. Imagine a world where music like this was at the forefront. We’d all be in perfect timing with each other in harmonious syncopation and would be listening so deeply there would be no room in our minds for hate or intolerance. Just transcendence. This was everything. 🦋
Charlie Stacey on the keys, man is beast, compliments the vibe of Yuseff so well, even better than Alfa Mist I would say, in terms of chemestry. Make this your trio Yuseff, I beg you, you don't need nothing else

That transition 🤯🤯🤯 this is a dope jam🔥🔥🔥
Fire fire
I think Yussef Dayes, Rocco Paladino, Charlie Stacey, and Tom Misch should form a super group.
Palladino is starting to reach GOD level with his bass
Haha aka DAD level
Paul Mayer hahahah 😂😂
And he is so chilled out always, never even breaking a sweat!
Thank you suhh!
"Starting"?
FlyLo, Yussef, thundercat, Alfa Mist, and Mansur Brown would make the ultimate funk jazz band, they would literally change the game as a band.
覆盆子 don’t forget Palladino
@@markd2797 And Kamaal :)
kamasi?
omg, yes please.
all of these guys have changed the game on their own already but that would still be pretty cool.
I miss this era of Yussef.
I just discovered this majestical soulful sound 2 days ago...Where have you been all of my Life! What!? I'm a fan for Lyfe!
I can't ever have just one listen. It needs to be three times in a row, always.
Shoutout to the Director of Photography. Really appreciate the artistry in the video making.
