You guys are absolutely killin it and crushing the game. Beautiful musicianship all around. Yussef is my favorite drummer to watch play holy damn, much love
Dude I love this style. If I could really play well, it would emulate this type of funky groove. Sounds crazy technical but still has a catchy well written beat to it.
The new wave in jazz comes from London! Rocco makes his own name, Yussef makes these acoustic drumset speak so fresh. Busy playing but never boring, no overplaying. Very very inspiring, guys!
I absolutely love what the Brits are doing. They’re giving the Americans some stress and real competition. Kokoroko, Ezra Collective, Nubya, Tom Misch. They are pure class.
The drummer's timing is flawless, maintaining a steady, unwavering groove throughout the track. The seamless blend of rhythmic consistency and evolving textures in the drum track establishes an immersive, otherworldly vibe. The total vibing at the end is relatable.
Best drumming and more specifically the best Jazz playing I’ve seen in 20 plus years. I’m 30 but been playing since 3 and in the professional scene since 14 so I’ve been around a fair share of musicians but this is the best I’ve seen in that time. Yussef Dayes is like the young Dennis Chambers or Tony Royster JR here
Though I only discovered his drumming a few weeks ago, I am thinking that Yussef Dayes may be the greatest drummer of his generation. Drumming perfection! And I've been playing for over fifty years myself; he's got me beat, for sure.
This cover song is no song that I've listened to before. The bass, the rhythm... it's just so immaculate. Your taste is romantic and satisfactory... I'd like to honour you, Yussef Dayes... I'd like to honour you a massive thank you for your immaculate, bass, rhythmic, romantic, satisfactory music and taste. I'm a big supporter for you, man. Never stop. (This is also to Rocco Palladino and Charlie Stacey for all of you are truly great musicians.)
Just so beautiful. Instant calm. Charlie Stacy's solo is so delightful. I loved every moment of this. No waste. No extraneous noise. Just pure, unadulterated, masterful playing. Bravo.
Black American culture has shaped this beautiful world…Blues,Jazz,Negro Spiritual, Gospel,Funk,Soul,R&B,Rock,Grudge remember Curt Cobain was a roady for Tina Marie Bell who started grudge in Seattle. Huge salute to my ancestors ,
That snare sound is like popcorn, I don’t care how people love fat drum snares and deep sounds, that popcorn sound will be around long after I’m gone!and I luv it!
I know nothing about drums either. However, we can discern when something is excellent or not, and this guy, as you say, has a clean sound! Just discovered these musicians - thankfully - better late than never!
This is without a doubt one of the best recorded things on youtube. The combination of Rocco, Charlie and Yussef together hits so deep all you can do is lie still and let the music do the work.
It’s here! Check out Yussef’s new live album “Welcome To The Hills” featuring this trio with Rocco Paladino and Charlie Stacey. It just dropped last week.
yussef days is brilliant and with charlie stacy on the keys and rocco on the bass its beautiful for my ladies live from copenhagen. that is for the first time i thougt that kind of musik is soooo perfect and beautiful much love from copenhagen. August -19 old much love from sydhavn
Yussef, Rocco, Charlie - this is uplifting, refreshing, music for the soul. Words can't express the feeling that your playing evokes. Please never stop being true to the unique spirit - the joy of life and music - you effortlessly share
My family thing about the internet is being able to stream a full 7/8 piece Jazz ensemble into my living room 5 hours after the music has been released. Thank you, Tiny Desk, for blessing our hearts and ears for years!
My manifestation I put out there is that people transition from listening to the filth on the radio to music more like this. The passion and energy is phenomenal. Glad we still got real musicians making meaningful soundwaves
Wow..... this rendtion of Stanley Clarke's 1974 classic "Yesterday Prince" is off the charts. They're bringing new life to this Jazz/Rock Fusion classic. The original composition is only a short 2 minute interlude where Stanley does some lite vocals leading into the next piece on the album.
This straight up sounded like some Reso or Floating Points. I actually found out about Yussef from a breaks video he did with Rocco live, it was amazing.
This makes me change my mood into a peaceful one and I find this highly underrated and needs more views! this should be mainstream because this is what actually music is supposed to feel like
I hope one day we as people move beyond appreciating a particular type of music at the expense of another. This idea of "this is what music is SUPPOSED TO feel like" creates categories and unnecessary hierarchies. Let the music be, deviate, and transform.
yet another stunning piece.. Yussef is on another level with that drumming..... just amazes me how easy some of these good musicians make things look.... pure aural bliss!
I'm a wannabe drummer...I said it. I was a dancer for 1/2 of my 44 yrs; tap being one of my preferred & most skilled styles. Foolishly, & arrogantly, I thought, if I could make my own music & beats, i.e. magic, w/ my feet I should be able to do so w/ my hands. My dad is a musician, he was into it, too; having pride in my whole-hearted attempt at my favorite instrument. Allow me to say this clearly...I WAS SO VERY WRONG!!! What drummers do, what ALL musicians do, is brilliance! What Youssef Dayes does is orgasmic! I truly mean that! He makes me scrunch my face up & feel the need to scream, or growl even, while covered in goosebumps. He is a BEAST...&, God, do I 💜 it!! Please, give us more!
I have no clue how I found this but I'm beyond happy I did. This is fantastic. There's a 100 drummers I could name but I wish Buddy Rich and Sonny Payne were alive to see/hear you. Magnificent. Other-worldly. Fantastic.
I love it. It all pairs so perfectly well. Not too much on the drums, not too much on base, it's perfect ! A nice beat to it that makes me want to burn one, while sipping on some spiced hot chocolate, pjs, my babe next to me and my dog with us while watching the rain ❤🌧
Blessings people,
We Appreciate the love on this
More music en route for you all
Peace
Yussef
Thank you and your band mates for killing it. Nasty stuff.
thanks for the fantastic music
You're truly an inspiration.
This just blew me away! Will this be getting released for purchase? Amazing!
You guys are absolutely killin it and crushing the game. Beautiful musicianship all around. Yussef is my favorite drummer to watch play holy damn, much love
Yussuf could be one of the best drummers alive at the moment. Unreal
He most certainly is!
"could be" 😂
*he is
Dude I love this style. If I could really play well, it would emulate this type of funky groove. Sounds crazy technical but still has a catchy well written beat to it.
Debating personally between him antonio sanchez and malcom catto
Is no one talking about Charlie Staceys solo? Unreaalllllll
The new wave in jazz comes from London! Rocco makes his own name, Yussef makes these acoustic drumset speak so fresh. Busy playing but never boring, no overplaying. Very very inspiring, guys!
There's no doubt a new wave of jazz is coming from the UK

Yo that's Pino Palladino's son! That dude has bass playing in his genes. Awesome!
Fantastico !!!!!!!!!!

@Average Kynt. Jaco’s son’s name is Felix. He was playing with the Yellowjackets for a while a few years ago... he’s dope too
Yo. Rocco is so cool
By any chance anyone know what bass guitar he's playing? It's beautiful
Dude is a beast on the drums. So glad I stumbled upon his music.
A beast! 😎👍
We are listening to the beast's best beats!
Agreed
Hes great!! Check out Makaya McCraven too!!
Ha i said the same thing
it's so hard for drums this busy to stay so tasteful, love it
It's because he means every hit.
Fr’reals
Is he that busy though? It's not lots of fills and big splashy playing, it's ghost notes and small touches.

For the last five years, there is no other drummer like this guy...
Enjoy it.
Duality has been on constant rotation. Everything Yussef Dayes touches is turning gold. Hopefully 2020 will bring even more new music from him.
He is making a new album with Tom Misch in 2020.
