Yussef Dayes has quickly become one of my favorite drummers. I'm just now finding out these guys back in early 2017. I haven't heard a song by them yet that I didn't like!!
Heard this album for the first time today, couldnt stop listening to this one. And I knew when i looked for a live performance on youtube it would surely be fucking phenomenal. That drumming gives me crazy goosebumps
The way Yussef is kinda hunched over, with the tight afro, facial hair, and is moving around almost like being controlled by something much more than himself reminds me a lot of Stuff era Steve Gadd.

You’re right about this but that little breakdown was rehearsed. They feel out the timing naturally which is the cool part but it’s still rehearsed.
