As they say he's got time:) I love the metamorphosis ....years back he would have been playing like, Billy Cobb, art Blakey, Elvin Jones, toss in buddy rich he's much more hip hop r&b influenced he's great. Might not play giant steps with Coltrane swingin' but he's got his thing he's incredible at it. All are he owns rhythm section though
This is single handedly one of the best videos Ive ever seen on youtube. Not just the incredible music, but the way its affecting them all, infecting each person, its like a drug, an entity just taking over each performer and growing. One musician fosters the idea and gently raises it up, just for the other to pick it up from there and grow it even more. The ecstacy on Yussefs face is contagious. Nothing is hidden in this performance. Just pure unadulterated musical love. And I love that so much its hard to even put it in words. Love is truly the message, and these 4 people are fitting messengers.

One of my favorite pieces^
guitarist full-on stopped to scratch his face at 2:09 and carried it on seamlessly
bruh wot
...organic phrasing.
He knew that one tiny rest was coming up hahaha
@@narcoskeptic exactly
@@narcoskeptic nah mate, his guitar part is improvised for sure, no way all of that was written down 100%
AHAHAHAH
Dude around like 7 minutes when Yussef and Rocco lock in, it’s so nasty. I can’t get the main riff out of my head that Mansur plays. This song is so infectious.
For the past month or so, nothing I listen to sounds as good as this.
I’m listening to this while I try to calm myself down while on a shrooms trip. It’s doing a good job. This is my favorite.
10 months later...I hope you’re a changed woman. Bless bless queen! Hope the trip was transcendental and transformationally healing. 🙏🏾
Whooooo! My guy did not have to go that hard on them drums. But he did that. He did that for all of us.
Eargasm. Art at its finest
This drummer is out of this world, at one point he breaks it down it sounded like a Dilla beat 🔥
Cold Blooded 🥶
Dilla is one of his influences 💯
Sure thing
This is incredible.. the drummer is sick
They all are!
Such an underrated song. The world stops when I listen to this.

Watching this recording contributes a lot to mental health
NOW THIS IS MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So perfect for the Soul! Much Needed, thanks!
The number of gifted musicians in this room is unbelievable. Thanks for renewing the actual Jazz guys

Couldn't put it better myself, heres another one that makes me feel the same way, different style........ ruclips.net/video/mFSRCG4DrmI/видео.html&start_radio=1
very well put brother. glad to see others have the same appreciation for this work of art
Check out Snarky puppy, they've been doing videos like this for years. Truly incredible stuff.
Great post. 👍🏼
The music is great but I have to give it up the cameraman for moving in a fluid rhythm to each of the players. Nice.
Yussef is so passionate! How effortless Mansur brown is with that guitar 🎸!
I religiously come back to this video everyday
Mansur really taking that shimmer reverb to unexpected places!
Yussef is probably my favorite percussionist out right now. The amount of energy and passion he puts into his music is beautiful. Thank you
Makaya McCraven is doing really dope stuff too. Check it out.
I agree, the passion that comes through. I could watch that for hours and hours and enjoy every moment of it
yeah, the new generation redefining jazz
totally agree with you
Mansur Brown doing the thing!!
This is poetry without words
I listen to this song everyday. Sometimes at least 3 times in a row and it always makes me cry tears of joy. This tune is angelic and so inspiring. It's like ice cold spring water after wandering the desert for eons
This was me this morning... It damn well brought me to tears 😭😭😭Its so perfect.
same here!
Me too. Every day. I put some of my friends, real music lovers, up on these guys. and they thank me every day. LOL
Musical Telepathy is what they practice. Ituitive grooving.
my favorite is welcome to the hills💯
The drumming on this is unbelievable
I can't listen all the way through.. I keep restarting the song!! its so good!!
The drummer is an absolute monster!!!
FACTS
He's a real Beast
Some might say jazz is dead, but someone still playing great music like this somewhere around the globe
Jazz is alive but can be difficult to recognize after all the facelifts and plastic surgeries.
This is not Jazz.
@@andym28 this is jazz's kid, modern jazz, inspired by hip hop, rock, rnb and everything in between while still having the soul of jazz
I miss real jazz festivals. With bebop, acid, modern and everything in-between while still actually remaining JAZZ.
this might be the best mix of 4 tones on 4 instruments I've ever heard. Cohesive doesn't even come close......seamless.......perfect
The closest I seen to that is Earth Wind and fire, the old prince band, the roots band, Robert Glaser and the drummer Chris Dave
