    Sorry for the quiet video, this was the last one I did before I started processing my audio first. Levels should be better from here out!

    Well done. I’m loving the tones and the playing

    I would love a video on the internal gain trimmers in the broadcast. No one has done a video yet!

      I will definitely do one, those gain trimmers have such a huge effect on the tone. It will be a bit fiddly of a video since the trimmers and main gain pot work together (plus volume pots) but I can definitely see the use of a video like that since I'm always switching my setup to make the Broadcast anything from dual clean boosts up to maxed out dying fuzz tones.

      Did you change the gain using the gain trimmers on the broadcast before this video?
      I've got the exact same broadcast coming Tuesday.yours sounds amazing in this vid.

      Yes I did for sure. I’m always changing the trimmers on there, so much so that I am currently removing the trimmers and replacing with pots.

    How are your dip switches set in the KOT ?

    • @TweedToneKing
      @TweedToneKing 2 года назад +1

      Seems like boost on yellow, OD on red ... ?

    • @GuitarTonePro
      @GuitarTonePro  2 года назад +1

      Had to go back and watch a bit to be sure, but yes that is the boost on yellow and overdrive on red (with high gain mod on red). Had to double check as lately I've switched to running it distortion on red and overdrive on yellow, gives some great flexibility and I forgot just how good the distortion setting is on the KoT!

    I much prefer room micing pedal demos than direct which can sound quite shrill. Gives me a better idea of what I’m gonna hear. Thanks!

      You’re welcome, although I am going more towards an OX setup these days. Currently I have it pretty good, but do plan on spending some real time A/B testing to get it dialed in closer to my room sound.

      Right on dude. Would love an ox in the future.. I think the trick is to mix a little bit of room mic into the direct tone - I believe this is what that pedal show does.

      That Pedal Show is all mic’ed. They mix close mics on the cabs with room mics which is what I’ve been doing up until the OX. I still do it for any wet/dry two amp recordings as the OX only works for a single amp. For me it’s speed of setup and volumes I can record at that make the OX a go to now, as otherwise I would record even less.

    Get the Broadcaster. Sounds better, looks better and yoU CAN BUY ONE> My favorite dirt pedal.

      Both are great. The 3 dirt pedals that are always either switching in and out or all 3 on are the King of Tone, Broadcast 24v, and Dumbloid “B” Boost. Currently working on rewiring a Broadcast to have external pots instead of internal gain trimmers.

      I have both. It just sort of happened.

      Yep, they are quite different so it’s worth getting both if you can get a KoT at a decent price or wait on the list.

      They’re two totally different sounds, man. If you prefer the fuzzier, analog desk style dirt of the broadcast, that’s one thing. They don’t compete for the same sonic style though. You could put the broadcast up against a sunface or a peppermint and it’d be a much more direct comparison for the standpoint of sonic quality.

      I agree that they are different, though the way I have it set, the Broadcast is definitely more in the overdrive range of gain than a fuzz. That’s a good thing about both of these pedals, they can cover a huge range of gain depending on how they’re set.
