Many folks are demoing the Broadcast into an exceptionally clean amp. That's fine: it is a preamp after all, and it provides anything from a subtly-colored boost to thick, dynamic fuzz that way. An important tip, though: try a Broadcast into an amp that is already cooking with pre or power amp breakup. Prepare to shit your pants. It's that good.
Aaron Nickell I have the dual broadcast and dual terror, the left lower gain is an insane boost but the amp can’t really handle the right side, just farts out unless you get the amp to be as clean as possible then it can just about.
Great video - Great pedal, I preferred the single here. As you say depending on your amp - Great to tighten up low end on a JTM45 for instance. Nice to have BOTH . Also yours running @ 9v or internal 9v/24v internal boost pump ?
I used to have two single Broadcasts, they sounded slightly different. I only kept the one I thought was more frequency balanced across the spectrum, but they did have different character, I guess it goes down to components? Who knows. Ask Hudson.
Put some Texas Specials in Strat recently, and was suprised by how different they were,- all curiosity, no research.Ripping, like a Tele,- a great option to have.
I thought I'd ask as I have a wonderful sounding 65' Ampeg Reverberocket. I put a higher wattage alnico speaker and was able to better utilize the eq on the amp. Unfortunately it didn't improve its ability to take gain and fuzz pedals. Just putting it out there if you think that the low cut on the Broadcast (maybe the high voltage version)would be able to match an amp better?
@@BuddaGuedes-Apologies, I Conflated a couple of different videos I had been watching along with acting as if we had a shared experience with this amp.I asked as if we had a shared brain. It's been a long journey with with this amp i.e-speakers and tubes. Im asking if you think that this pedal would work with a variety of amps(some not so pedal friendly) with that low cut which I'm sure acts as a frequency attenuator. The little Ive learned leads me to believe that it would be a bit more versatile, especially with the version that has the higher head room; the 9-24V version. This fact I also conflated. Not sure if you have the one that has ability to take higher voltage and how it differs. Hope that better states my question and clears up the confusion on my part. Again, my Apologies to you!-I would have been confused also. I'm a bit confused most of the time for matter.
Pre-War eh eh no problem. The low cut just cuts Bass, so sometimes it might sound a little harsh depending on the amp’s habilito to take pedals. And you don’t have a tone cut for the highs! As for the high power it’s just less compression, not that much of a difference. It’s a great pedal!!!
Hi! Budda ... great vid! ... could you tell me ... if you ever "tweeked" BROADCAST internal switches ? and you "feed" it with 9v/12/18V ... ?! cause yours sounds so much cooler than mine (i know ... its a mix of amp, guitar, strings, picks .. .... ehehe ... i know ... but...) ... Thanks a lot! Abraço! Rock on...
Great videos Budda, your playing has gotten better over time too! Please, one recommendation if I may, tune up the guitar a bit better, it really distracts from the playing and tones. Otherwise awesome stuff! For this pedal review, I'd like to know about the total gain range and how its affected by the internal trim pots. Most confusing about the pedal is how there is individual internal pots but a shared external pot and how that all woks together.
Have you tried the AP model ? It's the new single but silicon It sounds really good Actually as good or better yet than these I'm thinking that it might work better for me since I'm running one germanium already But do these have the glassy cleans w roll off like other G pedals do ?
Mateusz Wojno it can get there. I used to have a 5e3 that I could keep turned way down and convincingly use this pedal and ride the volume as you would with a deluxe
Neil Kraft Ive seen this same comment on two Broadcast reviews, you are a Tumnus humnus. I want a Klon pedal, it Will be a Mexican made one, named Minotaur. I already have a Ranger treble booster based on a beano booster, with a bass booster pot added, its a Jewel.
Wow ... that's an amazing pedal !!! i've been in a strugle to find a "perfect match" for an overdrive and a (soft distortion) and i havent figure it out yet... but now you showed me the perfect match ... ... right now i've been matching .... Blues driver with tube screamer ... just because i sort of gived up trying .... but now ... i guess you showed me the "light" ... eheheh ... Great video!!!! could you give me some hints ... where can i get one .... in Portugal ??!!!! or on the internet ... in a fast search i just found it on Andertons website ... and there it is only available next April !!!!! (its on pre-order) ... Thank You so Much .... Obrigado! um abraço Rui
Did you ever get one ? I use a Klon style pedal in to a Blues Driver or a Tube Screamer on most my boards .I just got a single it's great ,but it really reminds me of my BD-2
I was considering one of these pedals, but I had to stop watching the video after about 4 minutes as you've fallen noticeably out of tune, didn't you hear it your self while playing?, I'm sure that you play well, but please consider taking this video down and re-do it.
Personally, I appreciate the explanations and opinions, and find that his words are carefully chosen. One of the few good guitar related channels going.
Thank you Budda. I just got a Dual yesterday and yours is one of only two demos on RUclips that really do it justice.
Thanks a lot. I find it a little hard to play it at low volume, but it’s a magic pedal
This pedal is about the only thing that makes me proud to be English these days. Great demo 👌

Your video has really sold me on this pedal. Great demo.
Thanks a lot. But the dual
It's either beautifully grotesque or grotesquely beautiful.... To me.... To you... To me
Eh! Eh!
Haha.... I'm gonna build one, it's my cuppa tea
It’s incredible
Another great video, dude. Been watching your stuff since the day we talked about the lonestar...
Keep it up.
Cheers

I had to chime in. You deconstruct the circuit down to ground zero and build it back up. U know yr equipment, my friend.

If you run any buffered pedals before , or right after, it will dramatically change the sound, - as can daisy chained or dirty power.
Peace.
Thanks 🙏
This Strat sounds amazing! Has it been modified since you made the video about it? -- Greetings from South Carolina USA
luckyno888 it’s a classic player with Texas special. No mods

I’ve never played it. Although it should have a little more midrange .
I like the dual because it has two sides
Paul Cowart appatenty the AP has less Mids but stronger bass - that is how Posen has the described himself how it is different
Great!! I love my two Broadcast and double switches make it even better
It annoys that lo cut is made into a trimmer to be honest. I mean why do that?
It’s really helpful!! How would you suggest it should be done?
great sound buddy! I just bought the dual one a few weeks ago . I love that English sound very much.thanks for all your vids man.

Is there anything worse than gear demos on out-of-tune guitars
I think there are a few things worst than that.
it's really not good. put it that way
Try the most important pedal ever...your tuner!
Thanks!!! I’ll try it out someday
is this pedal just 5e3 sound in metal case?
I don’t understand your question. Can you please explain?
It sounds like fender tweed deluxe style overdrive pedal
Mateusz Wojno it can get there. I used to have a 5e3 that I could keep turned way down and convincingly use this pedal and ride the volume as you would with a deluxe
NO, the broadcast is based on the Neve-style preamps of TV broadcasting consoles of the 1960s. Not fender-y in any way.
