    I think that the grammar seems easy enough but the tones and pronunciation in Thai are so intimidating, as well as the written language. But that is the fun right? The journey and mistakes.

    This grammar is refreshing, having learned German and Spanish grammar rules. I finally don't have to worry about subjectives, 20+ different conjugations, genders, tricky particles (german), and such. But Thai script and tones are hard 😭

    At 2:50 they say, "Last month I went to Pattaya." but the sentence in Thai reads, "Last month I was at home." It is frustrating that this company does these type of errors so much. I've even reported errors to them and they fail to correct them in their courses. You can learn through ThaiPod101, but be prepared to find many errors in their lessons.

  • @greenteam0chi0912

    At 2:51, there is a typo. The sentence in Thai reads 'Last month, I was at home'. Underneath, the translation is incorrect.
    Same at 4:50, the English translation is incorrect.

    Hi, beginner question here:
    At 1:54 we learn that จะ (ja) is used for future tense as in...I "will" go.
    But at 3:51, the example they use for... I'll go...(short for I "will" go) is just ฉันไป, not ฉันจะไป?
    Can someone explain this to me?

    • @SilasHaslam
      @SilasHaslam 5 лет назад +1

      Yeah, the correct translation is จะไป but Thai language is actually a very highly context based language.If the context is clear enough, you can omit the word ‘จะ’.As for a native like me, by adding the word ‘จะ’ in this context sounds like you want to emphasize that you won’t go for sure.

    I have seen that, some languages which are easy to learn those have tough grammar but those which tough to learn have easier grammar. Like Chinese grammar. 50000 character but grammar is easy. Thai is also like that. Thai is very much similar to Indian language sanskrit but with tone. Grammar is really easy but their pronunciation is weirdest ever and peculiar ever. Their pronunciation is far far tougher that their grammar. Even Pattaya spelling is different from its spelling. In many cases there are no similarities between spelling and pronunciation. Really it sucks dude. I am learning Thai but actually it's killing me. I am not English speaker still learning English is much more easy.
