Too bad it did not end that way. William use an unauthorized clip of Leonard in some media. Leonard had not approved it, so Leonard fell out with William. Too bad it ended that way. Had Leonard lived longer, I’d like to think they would have mended fences.
@@thomaspick4123 Yes it's unfortunate they didn't get a chance to mend the fence before Leonard passed on. I feel sorry for Bill in that respect, because they had been friends for decades and very close ones at that, and to have to live with the pain that a friend turned his back on you towards the end must have been a hard one to take. Bill should have known better to ask Leonard's permission but at the same time Leonard should have taken it better as after all, why end a decades long friendship over an unauthorised use of a film clip? I guess it's a reminder to always treat others close to you with respect as you never know which conversation will be the last.
Looking back, it's really sad that they had a falling out prior to Leonard Nimoy's death, especially given how close they were and how long they were friends. RIP Leonard Nimoy
I honestly don't think Leonard meant it. Most people of his generation feel that to die with dignity they must die alone so that their closest can never see them at their last moments. Sometimes when the end is near they do anything to make sure their loved ones left them alone. I heard why they fell out and I just don't see Leonard driving Bill out of his last moments for just that reason. That said, he probably got over it in death. Either way he's waiting to mend the fences with Bill.

@@GavinJ37 - I'm not convinced their relationship really ended. Shatner had mentioned that Nimoy cut off contact with him and he didn't understand why. However, my father had COPD, like Nimoy, and used to call me all the time. The calls from him became less and less as his condition progressed until finally all calls simply stopped. Of course, I always called him. But, he reached a point when he didn't feel like talking to anybody because all of his focus was concentrated on simply breathing which was a huge struggle. So, this could explain why Nimoy ceased contact with his longtime friend. At least, I hope that's the only reason because they were very close for decades.
@@ScottALanter The reason why the relationship ended was due to Shatner using unauthorized footage of Nimoy in his 2011 "The Captain's" documentary.
