That’s the best part!
I remember watching the original airing of the sketch, and thinking that the punchline was slightly muffed, as he was supposed to say "I'm 'Walken'".
The hair on the doll during the Walken skit was great!! 🤣
I would have put Dana Carvey as Bush as more than an honorable mention...the two actually became friends in later life due to that impression. And you haven't laughed until you have heard Carvey doing Bush Sr and Frank Caliendo doing Bush Jr talking together. It was freaking hilarious!
That 'In the Cage with Nicholas Cage interviewing Nicholas Cage" sketch - still makes me laugh. Awesome!
Kinda hard to tell how good the impressions are with the narration talking over most of them.
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey sketchas Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton will always be my favorite. It was spot on
I would have included David Spade impersonating Michael J Fox. The look that MJF gave to Spade was the best.
Dude that was on an award show not SNL. Spade did the mjf impression on an update segment once, but it definitely wasnt with mjf
Hans and Frans meeting Arnold pretty much qualifies as one of the greatest impression-meets-reality skits.
Watch Mojo missed by a mile! No mention of Eddie Murphy's dead on impression of Stevie Wonder in front of Stevie Wonder? You have got to be kidding me!
Good point, or at least have included it in the honorable mentions.
I think the celebrity would need to see it to count
@@ethanblum5047 Stevie didn't see it, of course but he heard Eddie's voice and I believe that may have been enough for Stevie. I probably worded it wrongly when I wrote that he did it in front of Stevie Wonder. He was right beside Stevie Wonder and it was one of the talked event in the media back then!
I have a lot of respect for when famous people can laugh at themselves
I like how you kept the totally blind in mind while you decribed everything on the screen. I got to rest my eyes and just listen to how funny it must have looked.
John Belushi and Joe Cocker was the best. I remember watching the show and when Joe came out for his second set and there were 2 microphones we all freaked out because we knew what was coming. Both of these stars are greatly missed.
Agreed. Belushi doing Cocker should have been high on this list. I guess they are only focused on recent episodes.
Showing only 3 seconds of that priceless moment is criminal.
@@benhill7216 if it was the best parody and an excellent technical impression, most watchers would probably be like "what's a Joe cocker? Or a Belushi?"
But the mouth narrator could hav explained all that over them and at least given it a numbered spot! Ha
Tina Faye was so good at her impression, I got confused between who was who. Top impression on SNL ever!
i loved that sketch with Nicolas Cage. he has a great sense of humor to crack on himself like that. it was hilarious.
I hope you saw Cages most recent movie "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" Its defintely one of Cages best movies in the past 10 years or so. Even ranks amongst his best of all time.
@@mikespark72 "Renfield" was great, too. You could tell Cage was having the time of his life playing Dracula. 👍
“THAT’S HIGH PRAISE.” 😎
Poehler totally surprised me in the Walken sketch. That was hilarious.
Nothing will ever top the hilarity of John Belushi doing Joe Cocker, "A Little Help from My Friends"
yes, the best ine ever on SNL and it is not even mentioned
I lost it at that Joe Pesci clip when Joe Pesci took that bat and laid into that guy's knees
Joe and DeNiro show up to break the misconceptions of them being rough and tough wise guys and then proceed to give lessons in the art of mob violence
Joe: I'm actually a calm laid back person
Also Joe: Take the bat and hit him in the knees.
😁😁
SNL needs to put the full on their RUclips channel
One of my favorites that they didn't list here was Mike Myers doing a Mick Jagger impression with Mick Jagger next to him doing a Keith Richards impression. It was one of those side bits they do on the Weekend Update.
My favorite impersonations were Kate McKinnon as Justin Bieber and Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer.
Yes those two were excellent
I'm sorry to me the Belushi imitation of Joe Cocker is easily number one. I literally fell off the couch when that happened. Then again I was kind of high.
Damn you took it way back.
So you landed on the ceiling when you fell off the couch?
I remember watching it live and thinking Joe didn't look to happy with it.
@@flashbazbo694 you couldn't blame him especially when Belushi hit the floor flopping around
@@alanbaum6690 It was a great, and hilarious performance ! Of course, at the time everything SNL did was hilarious to me and my fellow highschool stoners....What a great cast in the '70's !
Less introduction and more of the actual funny skits would be great.
