    Thank you for the video. The "actor in the middle" is Mike Starr and I just checked to see that a head shot comes up instantly when you search for "dumb and dumber cast". Basic research could put names to most actors and it's insulting to be referred to as "actor in the middle" unless you're an extra or truly hard to identify.

Nobody can act (not only comedy, but action, drama, you name it), sing, dance, paint, sculpt, write at the level this man can when you put all things together. I mean, he could be a professional singer and he would be better than 99% of professional singers we listen to... he achieved so much in every art aspect maybe that's the reason he went nuts.

    2:37 When Carrey just improvised a line with 2 random guys that were just outside the convenience store... that didn't notice the whole Hollywood camera crew set up there, and no producers or crew noticed them on the set, and they weren't part of the cast or crew at all... sure.

      Not everything is filmed with a whole camera crew and set. with the right camera and gear you can take a long distance shot and have a mic close enough to the actor especially if you want to save money and want to get a nice organic environment and not have to pay a bunch of people, not really rocket science.

    • @winnetouch
      @winnetouch 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@bes12000 Yeah, sure... It's not like Jim and the camera operator were the only ones there, even with such a scenario. Not to mention that it's a public space and you need a permit to film in a public space. If you have a permit it costs money and then you usually close of that space for the duration of the filming to prevent exactly this from happening. You won't be taking chances of random people walking into your shot and delaying a shoot you have a limited time to do (as per the permit). And if it's not a public space, you need to make a deal with the property owner that you pay. Same exact scenario. You will have limited time and will close of the set for the duration of the shoot. So no... They were probably not just some randos on the street. Not saying the scene isn't improvised though. It may well be, but the fact is they were paid extras.

    • @peacemaster8117

    • @peacemaster8117
      @peacemaster8117 11 месяцев назад +5

      I looked up Pete Farrelly's comments in the Reddit AMA and he said the pair weren't extras, they were bystanders who were watching the production and Farrelly put them in the scene. So they're technically are "random men who were not paid extras", like the video said. I think the issue is that the phrase "they just happened to be outside the 7-11" makes it sound like they were randomly caught on camera, rather than being put there intentionally by the director.

Also, Jim Carrey is my cousin.

      As an actor I would like to remind the other actors here that the script given to an actor before they have accepted the part bears NO resemblance to the script on set. During shooting of a movie/show, every day the writers, producers, director and actors meet to go over the script and make sure everything works. Many times the writers or producers made changes. Every day before the shoot. What's it called, I can't remember? Xtremi should know! We all sit down at the big table and go over the script for the day... you know....
