I get the spoons for planting. When I was young I would take the spoons out in the yard and garden. I never would bring them back. Mom had to keep buying spoons. We never had matching cutlery until I was much older.
Bedtime stories are great! I preached “The Little Red Hen” to my kids (theme: do your part to get food on the table so you can eat too). Seventeen years later, daughter is passing this practical lesson on to college roommates (slightly appalled that their mothers neglected to teach their children this valuable life lesson.😄). Love that fabric line!

My husband didn’t get rid of anything and garage sales every weekend bring his truck loaded full. When he passed a way I had 3 garage sales and 5 40yard dumpsters full of stuff to get rid of.
