I switched it up a bit and sewed my zipper under the favric vs overtop. I like the zipper hidden for a clean look. Turned out great. Thanks for the tutorial! Ill be making cute bags for gifts 🎁
Ok I just want to say.. I'm only 3 minutes in and I've already had a "why haven't I ever thought of that" moment. The cardstock as a template??? That's just genius!! Thank you!
I’d like to thank you for all of the good that you are doing. Giving free patterns and tutorials. I have not sewn in about 10 years! You make it so easy to get back in the swing of sewing again. You are a sweetheart and a blessing to me. God Bless.💜🙏🏽💜
What a fun project! i'm definitely going to give this a try. I have never sewn a zipper before, excited to try. Thanks for breaking it down and making it so simple. Also, your fabrics are always SO fun 😍
Your video was so well done I became a new subbie. I was really impressed at how well you explained things and showed how it should be done. Thank you for a concise well done video!
Hello Kim. I'm not sure if I could do the switching . I have to familiarize myself and learn from my new machine. I came across that in the instructional DVD but did not really pay much attention to it since I'm just interested in straight sewing. But I will have to look a second time on zipper foot attachment.Thanks.
Thank you for your clear instructions. Very helpful. I was wondering if vinyl could be used in the lining? If so, would I simply cut the vinyl layer and add to the fabric liner layer or would you eliminate the fabric liner layer?
I learned to sew some 50 years ago but haven't done much in quite a while. I love how easy you make this to follow and the great tips you give to make it look professional! What is that tiny iron?? I need one lol! When you sewed around the bag at the end, I couldn't see which direction you placed the seam between the lining and the bag. Were they towards the lining again?
I wish I had watched your video before I made my bag! I needed that tip of making the lining just a tad bit smaller than the outer fabric. Mine has that extra bulk, but I know for next time! Love your videos! How much do you love using the mini press for sewing? I’ve been wanting one but haven’t committed.
IT makes such a difference in the final bag laying nicely! I really like that my mini heats up so quickly and maintains a high heat. Just wish it had steam.
Great tutorial. I love to craft but I am not a sewer. Thank you. It was easy to follow. Can you please do some more Cricut Joy crafts. It’s my first Cricut.
This method of putting in a zipper is the one people used to use years ago when learning how to sew in Home Economics class. Purchased patterns used to use this method. Patterns only cost about a dollar then. That was back in the 1950s and 60s. I wish you had shown putting the two seams together at each end of the zipper when you sewed all the way around the pouch. Do you pin the zipper seams flat or fold the zipper toward the main fabric? The camera shots of the top of the sewing machine didn't help. And, sometimes your hand blocked the picture when you were sewing.

I love this rainbow fabric, where is it from please I can’t find it using the link. Great tutorial... thank you
I have trouble with the zipper corners
The fabrics are very cute. Could you please share where we can buy it.
You can find both of these at Hobby Lobby :)
How would u do it if you want the zipper inside?
Can this be made with faux leather? I'm really new to sewing and have tons of faux leather I need to use!
You could definitely make this with faux leather. You might want to increase your stitch length a bit and use a sharp needle.
pls do you have a tote bag tutorial
❤
question doesn't the zipper have to be opened before you sew the bag closed - leaving a pice to turn ???
I leave it half way open and adjust it as I sew.
Where can I get that SMALL magnet dish!
Hi I saw them on Amazon.com😊
Thank you
It's from Riley Blake. Usually, you can find them for sale on Etsy. :)
What a pity we don't have suck lovely printed fabric in our country.
