Spent the past week trying to learn to put zipper tabs.....this is such a simplistic way to do it, can't thank you enough for this tutorial, thank you thank you thank you!!!😊
Hello! I am speechless. I too have watched many a video on sewing a small zippered bag and yours is by far the clearest for instruction and creativity on using bias tape to hide the inside seam. Never have I seen such a clean detail. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your ideas and talent to others.
I've looked at more than a dozen pouch tutorials but yours was the first I've seen that uses the bias tape to hide the inside seams! Very cool. Thanks!
Catherine Rodriguez you can easily make them seamless so that you dint have seams on the i side and you dont have to use bias. Think also then it looks more polished. Diy crafts tv has a nice tutorial fir that
OMG i have been watching tutorials for DAYS yours is literally the easiest to follow!!! my only suggestion... im not sure why it would take 45 minutes to make this! it took me only 15 with cutting. excellent video
WOW Paige you are the first instructor I have watched, who makes the video presentation so clear and you stop and pause so we can have a look of the supplies we need. Thank you for your wonderful presentation. I can't wait to make mine today. I look forward to watch more of your tutorials. :)
Lol I loved when you pulled out one bag after the other. I'm a beginner and this I consider an ambitious project but I'm definitely going to try it. Thank you so much ❤️
Hi from Ukraine. I had some extra fabric and a sewing machine, and decided to learn how to sew a pouch. I tried 4 different RUclips lessons. Finally I saw this video. It's perfect. Now I have 4 badly sewn pouches from those channels, and 3 perfect from this your tutorial. Thank you 💖
OK, I've spent all morning looking at videos for makeup bags. This by far is the absolute best one!!! Thank you for the simplistic yet fun look. I am super happy and can't wait to get started.
i tried this but instead i hand sewed everything together and this is the most cute and useful pouch i have ever made. Your video made everything clear and easy to follow! i absolutely love this!!!
Well done! Nicely edited with clear, concise directions without too much chatter. Finished seams inside gives this project a polished, clean look. Thank you.
This looks so easy to make. I love the way adding the bias tape around the raw edges makes the finished product look so professional. I will try to make one. Thank you for a great video!
omgosh... I have looked for something as easy as this!!! Yours was the first I seen that was so easy, I had to make several to give away!!! You made it simple.. and the way you put the zipper with the tabs!! I love!!!! thank you!!!
I'm not sure what is happening for you, but my advice is to keep practicing. Watch that part of the tutorial again and look for more helpful resources on applying bias binding to corners.
Awesome ..seen many videos on pouch making .. your idea of adding a cloth piece as zipper stops is exceptional ...thanks for sharing the wonderful idea.
Hello. Thank you very much for your easy yo follow video. I tried making the type of zipper pouch where the lining was tucked into the outer fabric, but since I use athletic fabric for my linings, this was too bulky and looked awful. So I sought a video where the lining could be 'sewn down. Your's was perfect! I like the tabs too. The only change I made was to zigzag instead of bind the seams. Thanks, again!
Hello. I am thrilled. The best tutorial for me. Your voice is so gentle. But please take no offence. I didn't enjoy the background music. I'd happily only listened to you. Thank you anyway. Best wishes from Wales UK.
I appreciate your feedback. I'm starting to leave the music out of my tutorials. It's a process figuring out what style of videos to produce and feedback is helpful. I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Thanks!
I thought there was more to the lining than just the interfacing. But it's a cute bag none the less and I'm trying to make it, I only got stuck on trying to put a zipper foot on my machine for the first time.
love the binding idea. very easy way to get a fancy looking finish. would it also work for a pouch with boxed corners? maybe that would be nice for a future video?
Binding can be applied in many different ways, so it would work for boxed corners. My favorite way to finish the corner seams for boxed corners is a French seam. Thanks for sharing a suggestion with me!
Thanks for the simple way of sew a fabulous pouch. I am a new learner got lot of imagination running under my mind because of your simple way of explanation.
OMG! That is so easy to understand! I'm such a beginner that I'll need to watch more videos to learn how to sew zippers and how to use my zipper foot. But, your explanation was great for showing a bird's eye view. Watching it to get the general idea makes me realize how simple it will be after I learn to sew zippers.
Thanks for not yaking yakking, yakking, yakking and getting right to the project. Did u say what kind of fabric u used? The bias tape really gives it a finished look.
OMG. U are amazing 😉! This tutorial is so quick and so much faster than the other tutorials to create a zipper pouch. Thank you for sharing this fantastic tutorial with us. I just hit your subscribe button. I want to see what else you have. I know it’s great. !!!
I’m semi new to sewing, I’ve been doing it a few months now. How would I make this a smaller sized pouch? I made one the size you did and it turned out great!!! Just wanted to make more!!
I just attempted making my first bag watching your tutorial. But I did have trouble adding the bias tape. I thinks it’s a little hard for us beginners.
So simple, thank you! Do you make box corners? Most I've seen made are taller than i want. I want one that will fit under a car seat, not sure how to adjust the corners height.
This looks so good but im scared im not smart enough to make this!! Does this have fusible fleece? Ive never sewn anything, my new sewing machine is just looking at me but i feel scared to fail
Don't be scared. Mistakes might happen but it's not a failure. Take it one step at a time and work slowly. You don't even need to finish it in one day. No, there wasn't fusible fleece in this tutorial.
4:51 can you do it without the bias? It looks really complicated 😢 This qpukd be a great gift for my kids to give to their teachers! How do you make smaller ones for my kids to put coins in? I would love to see a tutorial of a smaller one with no bias because im not that clever x
@@PaigeHandmade Thank you!! That sounds less scary! It's scary when you're interested in learning something but have no one around to teach you 😊 Are you able to make some more tutorials showing us how to make one a bit smaller and then another one smaller? I would like that 😊
How badly is the overall look compromised if bias binding is not used to finish off the internal lining seam? If bias binding is not used, what can alternatively be done to get the same clean sharp edges?
Hey...Ur idea is very easy and nice... Can u/anyone please tell me the type of fabric she is using ??? Actually I am new in this...I don't know much abt it ?
Use any woven/non-stretch fabric. Quilting cotton, canvas, linen, denim, etc. Keep the lining thin. If the fabric is bulky it might add a little bit more difficulty. For your first try go with quilting cotton.
Hi, Paige! What if I want to sew French seam inside the pouch (instead of bias binding tape). If I'm sewing the French seam I can't figure it out in which way the zipper should be when laying the outer and inner fabric. And the fabrics which way? Could you please help with step by step instructions.
@@PaigeHandmade Ok, Paige. I already made one this morning with zipper tabs. Maybe without tabs the project would be easier and less bulkiness at the ends of the zipper.
Can anyone help me out? 1. When sewing on the zipper, should the right side of the lining fabric be facing up or down? And 2. Can you make this without the bias tape? Thanks a bunch in advance :))
The right sides of the fabrics will be sandwiching the zipper and facing inward, then turned and pressed with right sides facing out. The bias tape is only for a clean finish, not necessary.

Yes, a zipper foot is a good tool to have and use. To install zippers I use either a zipper foot or an invisible zipper foot, depending on the zipper.
