Their goals of containing and controlling the threat represented by technology only grew in scope and scale as the nukes dropped around them. It's fair to say that both groups had a vested interest in the other's destruction since day 1.

When people call Fallout 1 / 2 "harder turn based" RPG you really know the good old times are over. You get overpowered so quick and easy in F1 / 2. Both are my favored RPGs of all time but they not hard, they maybe "clunky" in terms of ui etc.
It'd definitely be interesting. Though, it would take a significant amount of work to make it. Fallout 2 covers to most area in the lore, followed by the original Fallout. The newer Fallouts are kept secluded to a single city (with some light exception in New Vegas - like Nipton, California to Las Vegas, Nevada). Could you imagine the amount of effort it'd take to get South California into a 3D title, much less North? And since the wasteland in Fallout 1 and 2 were pretty empty, Bethesda would have to make a whole lot of minor locations to fill the void. It could work, techically, but it certainly would take a while. Also, the Fallout 4 engine would have to be redone to support skills. Aaaaaaaand, there would be a recast of the voice actors and that'd be expensive -- Fallout 1 and 2 had some high level VAs, including the likes of Jim Cummins and Cree Summers.

As someone who loves both the classic and modern Fallout games for their own individual reasons (except, you know, THAT one...), it’s a treat to see a perfect blend of the two like this! The map looks great, the animation’s amazing, and I think it’s very creative that you used the X-01 armor, as I think it raises some interesting theories when it comes to the lore! And I find myself constantly rewinding to the part where the officer slowly looks at the camera, it’s perfect. Nothing is said or expressed, and yet the body language still manages to speak volumes, so bravo to you, sir!
I love the voice acting. I can't even imagine how did he get the stuttering sound so natural. The pate of emotions on display is amazing. From mildly annoyed that the video feed is not working to amused, finally bewildered and upset and ironically polite. Amazing work!
I did this whole mission and completely missed this in the Gecko Power Plant. Amazing dedication from Interplay to put so much detail into something you can miss.
Particularly since this nugget, itself, requires you to have at least a 50 in science. And science doesn't really have a ton of uses. At least not like speech, lockpick, or any combat skill.

I would love to see Gecko in a 3D engine. For some reason I always felt like Gecko in a 3D environment would look wonderful. Where they have a lot of realistic poses, a little walk cycle used during conversations (like walking back and forth during an explanation). Just cycles through it during conversations. Can tell it's recycled animations but still adds a bit.

In the original game nothing ever actually happened when you did this, because the devs forgot to add the verti assault team into the game, the map itself where the encounter occurs is in the files. However with a cut content restoration patch, the verti assault team can be encountered.
When you realise that the enclave is what you get when you have the pre war federal government survive a nuclear war and inbreed on an oil rig for nearly 200 years
Dr Curling says that there's about a thousand Enclave members aboard the Oil Rig. There's more at Navarro, though significantly less so. I guess there's also the East Coast faction. 160 years and a thousand members. Sounds like you wouldn't have to worry about inbreeding. Hell, that's a bigger population than some vaults.
I love how he goes from casually chatting, to stuttering in anger, to threatening to trace you and send a squad to kill you, navy seal style.
To be fair, he actually has the ability to fulfill his threat. At least with the restoration mod.

I get watching him getting pissed is funny but it's like a joke I've heard a thousand times.
Should of been able to kill them all, then call him back to say "Yeah, so can you send more? I need about 13 more bodies to finish my power-armor corpse fort."
In the original game nothing ever actually happened when you did this, because the devs forgot to add the verti assault team into the game, the map itself where the encounter occurs is in the files. However with a cut content restoration patch, the verti assault team can be encountered.
When you realise that the enclave is what you get when you have the pre war federal government survive a nuclear war and inbreed on an oil rig for nearly 200 years
Dr Curling says that there's about a thousand Enclave members aboard the Oil Rig. There's more at Navarro, though significantly less so.
I guess there's also the East Coast faction.
160 years and a thousand members. Sounds like you wouldn't have to worry about inbreeding.
