Never played the game but I'm pretty sure the pressure in his suit killed him, he detonated the oil rig because he was already going to die. Somewhere I read it was his augmentations that started to fail. I saw something on reddit about people wanting Horrigan brought back like a Frank-instien (haha that's kinda funny). I think it'd be more plausible if they decided to make clones of him and had like 10 that you can't actually kill, and have a game where you can join the enclave, having them slightly more tolerant but still not 100% ghoul huggers, basically they accept vault dwellers, maybe even try to cure rads from wastelanders, but purge all else, or maybe just full on killing everyone who is mutated, because seriously it's almost justified, to save humanity from what could become of the impurities, you see how many kids there are in the wasteland? Probably cause the rest die young to mutations or diseases.
I love how much of a “fuck you” frank serves to the player. In every fallout game, the main antagonist can be talked down/negotiated with. You can learn about their goals and their misguided methods. Frank says that the reason why the final level has been so easy is because you haven’t ran into *him,* spits on your diplomacy and stomps you into paste

Honestly as a Fallout Addict and a former US Marine with multiple combat tours in Iraq, I can sympathize and empathize with Frank Horrigan. If I was in his position, America was falling or already fell but was within a position to be resurrected, then I would take almost all necessary actions to see it reinvigorated and back in a position to help stabilize the nation. However, there are certain areas and actions that can not ever be justified! The ends do not justify the means sort of situations, where great harm deliberately poured out onto innocent civilians, the trampling of the rights and freedoms of American Citizens by enacting martial law. Then allowing a dictatorship or military coup to run the nation, the politicians and wealthy and military living good off the blood, sweat, & tears and deaths of people that once were free men but now are bound to slavery by the military weapons and those wielding them! That results in revolution or a state of "Let today die as yesterday and we will do different tomorrow!"

What’s extra crazy is that health and stats work differently in the first 2 fallout games compared to ones like new Vegas,3 and 4 An example is that in the new games, you usually start with 110 health but that much health is considered high in fo2 so 999 hp in fo2 is probably like 9999hp if we conver it to new game mechanics
The very fact that he is 3.6 meters tall and weighs 350 kg makes him a truly terrifying super-soldier. And I’m generally silent about how he tore apart the Alpha Death Claw in Vault 13 with one hand. And I also like how loyal he is to the USA, I like it that while all the soldiers are running, he is ready to fight to the death, Frank Horrigan is a true patriot :)
Fallout 4 factions have virtually no fighting strength to begin with. Bunch of weak bums. A dozen bos power armor soldiers and a couple dozen synths at any given time really. Except for the part if you kill Shaun. My game spawned 100 synths there in one hallway. That was epic.
Imagine a Fallout 2 remaster with the newer gameplay and graphics. Now imagine fighting Frank Horrigan in newer graphics. His brutality and size would easily scare the shit out of me.

Fallout 76 takes place more than 100 years before the events of the 2nd game on the timeline. They wouldn't have to revive him or clone him, they'd have to travel to the future.
I really had a feeling that legate lanius would actually put up a fight with frank horrigan, if legate lanius just got insanely ripped and took every single enhanced steroid whilst getting a plasma sword, and was part of a legion raiding party against an enclave transport that just so happened to have frank horrigan in it, that would literally have to be the greatest 1v1 ever.
I don't care what anyone says, I want frank as a cameo in either the fallout show, or a future fallout game, because honestly, having a character that's quite literally the sentence : ''You DON'T want to fuck with this guy'' in a world with fucking dinosaur-like mutants like the deathclaws, is fucking badass

I wish they would make a official release of a Fallout 1 and 2 remaster in the current engine and gameplay.
Horrigan could have spit on everything on that rig, get rid of all of them. But he needed the enclave for the his fun of the game. Because he loved the chaos and getting rid of everything in his way.
