I've watched a number of interesting videos about (basket) willow, trying to gain clarity about harvesting it, and not only has yours made that clear, it gave me the great boon of learning that I can "reinvest" my harvest to grow additional plants!!! And I've followed your instructions here in Vermont, in mid-March, and I'm very excited to see what comes of it. Thank you, thank you!
Beth I'm excited, we finished planting up our willows today and they have buds on them coming! They are all bareroot not cuttings like yours. I can't wait to try new things with willow, especially maybe I'll create a living structure someday!

Could you send me a sika willow cutting in the mail? It's a beatiful tree and apparantly it'll happily grow sideways. Now I know there's 500 subspecies, I'd like to collect them :) big willow fan.
