A gapless loop of Old King Allant's theme from Demon's Souls (2020). Twitter/Twitch: / frekeout MUSIC: ♬Old King Allant by Shunsuke Kida (Demon's Souls (2020) OST)
The soundtrack of Remake had many hits, it had some misses, but oh man this theme right here will stand with some of the most epic ever, same tier as the best Fromsoft modern bosses like Gael, phase 1 Cinder, Owl father among other epics!
don't take me bad but the original one was not that good to me, it was just organ playing in the background just because he's evil lol, that's why Gwyn's theme is way better, the piano is more melancholic and expresive, the remake of the old king allant feels better worked than the original allan't theme. but hey, everyone has his different opinions.
I don't know how to feel. I think this, on its own, is an incredible piece of music. It fights right in line with the best of Dark Souls OSTs... My only problem is that it doesn't sound, well, like Demon's Souls? I know that sounds silly, but as incredibly composed as this song is, it feels like it lacks the mood of the original. I feel as though I can feel it right in the beginning of the song alone. Comparing this song's very loud, booming orchestra swing in at the start, then to the original's singular, spaced out, lonely organ playing those first few notes, as Allant slowly steps forward. I just don't get that with this one.
If find it odd how often this sentiment is expressed considering that the original composer approves of this new soundtrack. www.reddit.com/r/demonssouls/comments/jpc7mm/original_composer_of_demons_souls_music_shunsuke/ I think this might be a case of the art taking on a unintended meaning after the years of it being experienced by so many people. The composers for the remake said they wanted to retain the original composers intent, and I think they did that, but it wasn't what the fans wanted apparently. As someone who played the Remake as my first experience though: Demons Souls is one of my favorite games of all time, and soundtrack matters a lot for me if that says anything.
@@thegangstagandalf6635 I don't understand how that's odd, it's called having an opinion and a personal taste... Still, I'm not hating on the OST, just wanting to make that clear. It's probably nostalgia, but the remade tracks feel so... generic in this particular composition? I played Demon's Souls in 2010, I've known this game for a huge portion of my life, and this just doesn't invoke the same feeling for me. I know many others who share that sentiment, but I also realize that it's a matter of opinion. At the very least, I would've liked if they had given us the option to switch to the old OST in the remake.
@@lagamingnote1391 It's funny that's said because Bluepoint made it apparent that they wanted to be "as faithful to the original vision of Demon's Souls as possible," and it really doesn't feel like they did besides gameplay and mechanics.
I like this version.
It's bloody brilliant. Loving the orchestra!
