Racist much Gamebreaker08? There is zero reason for him to have his lengthy rap sheet pardoned. He committed the crimes, he stole property, put peoples lives at risk and forced a police response that took them away from patrolling and helping with other calls...there was no witch hunt for him, he wasn't framed or had sham charges against him...he was properly charged, tried and convicted. I wonder if you would have a different attitude if someone you love was killed because of his actions...perhaps your mother or daughter was walking across the street and was accidently struck by the police trying to get to the call of a stolen train for example.
Mike Johnson lol I'm sure the MTA workers at present puts people's lives at risk more than this guy has done. Clearly you didn't get anything out of this video
It is so painful for me that this isnt even brought up once in the video. I guess we're all supposed to assume that this guy cant be trusted with people's lives simply because he has a form of Autism. Its not even a severe case of Autism; people with Asperger's are generally considered to to be on the high functioning end of the spectrum. He could most certainly do that job and succeed.
Burnsy Runs if he has uncontrollable urges to that degree, he is not stable, and is not eligible, he even said when he broke those laws, he felt he was doing was right, and more important than others thoughts
to become a train conductor Make sure that your past employment information, criminal history, and driving history are as accurate as possible. Train conductors must pass a mandatory background check; count on the check to uncover any skeletons in your closet, provided that they're on your public record.Your resume and cover letter should demonstrate that you are responsible, accountable, and able to work well under pressure. The only requirements are a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and 2-3 years of general work experience (or college). However, your resume will look much stronger if you have worked in the transportation or safety industries; experience as a bus driver, tram driver, or ferry pilot will especially qualify you.Any experience with operations--in the transport industry, the food industry, retail, etc.-- will work in your favor
As an MTA conductor im very impressed that he not only moved the train without causing it to go BIE but was making proper stops which ain't as easy as you think
Carl Lewenski ...that can’t be denied. Still, imprisoning him and not getting him assistance or support to help him properly deal with the underlying mental condition is lazy and wrong of our judicial and social systems. We pay for that indirectly too.
Carl Lewenski congressmen LMAO! I have even less faith in our current political system than the judicial or social ones. It’s chock full of corrupt and self-serving hypocrites... I’d have better luck starting a #freedarius #traingangchallenge on TikTok to see any change come about honestly
Man my heart broke watching the documentary on him ( real stories) he is such a sweet genuine guy. You gotta be able to see this is something due to his mental health. The fact that they continue to just throw him in jail instead of help this man and get to the root of the issue. It's just disgusting. My prayers are with u and ur family. R. I. P to his mother. Such a sweet lady
This is a good guy! Help him! Give him a job! Sounds like it’s his gift and passion to me. And he causes no harm to people? And he understands the train controls and all?? Amazing! Man I wish our world wasn’t so controlled by if u have schooling or are u a felon and etc... Im just saying, his gift is truly being overlooked
He doesn't need help nor should he be locked up, he needs A JOB. He needs to have a specialist with him to talk to the NYC subway employers so he can be hired and do this FOR A LIVING. That way, he can do what he loves and gets paid for it! DUH!
Let me advocate for the transit company now: He has an illness and indeed needs help, he is very good at the job when everything goes smoothly but what if something goes wrong... say that the train derails or that a tunnel collapses or some other dramatic unforeseen event. Will he be able to do his job and guide the customers to safety? That's pretty much the only real reason he will never get a job as a transit worker. Now who should we blame? We should blame the parents for not seeing what was going on and guiding their son. We should blame the justice system for refusing to take responsibility and guiding this sick man. Instead they push the responsibility onto the rehabilitation network who also did not take responsibility and just locked him up and forgot about him. Why are you paying taxes to feed the sick and isolate them from society instead of treating them? You could just aswell save some cash and just execute them like the nazi's would do to anyone with a terminal illness or something else that makes them abnormal. (Ooh I definitely touched something sensitive here)
And you're being naive and blind of reality. The system just doesn't work that way. Their is a reason why that one guy said "if he could get a job in a train museum or something" instead of "if they could just give him that job as a train driver" and you are a fool for not seeing that. You are narrow minded. You only see in political correct colors ruling out all reasoning in the process. Think of a real solution instead of joining all the ignorant ones and saying that they should just give him that job as train driver. If something unexpected were to happen you simply can't rely on him to do his job which is what I was trying to point out. It doesn't have to be a collapsed tunnel it could just as well be a fight between passengers. Remember the man is diagnosed with an illness which he is required to say in his job interviews. I'm trying to explain here why they can't accept him. We live in a capitalist democracy. This means independent free press that seeks revenue through viewing numbers. If something were to happen and the press find out he was involved the whole media world is gonna paint them as bad guys. The world loves a good scandal and companies hate bad press.
My comment never once referenced the man in the video. You make it sound as if you expect that everyone they hire already has prior knowledge of what to do in very rare emergency situations which is fairly ridiculous.
John Smith you obviously don't know what asperger syndrome is. The only thing people with that form of autism differ from the average human is that they are pretty much anti social and have limited sources of interests. He is surely just as qualified, if not more so, than any other person.
Meanwhile here in Los Angeles,California we have major delays on buses and trains. Wish we had a bus/train operator like him that cares about his passangers
@That One Don't get me started on Norwegian railway... The railways signaling system is beyond shitty with frequent errors. During summer months it's been for the most part fine, winter months... I have been up to an hour and a half late because of equipment malfunction.
He might only like it because it's something he does not that offeten, Christmas everyday would be boring whereas once a year (as a kid) in enjoyable as hell
You can't prove he's the most qualified for this job or prove he's one of the best drivers. You don't know him. You only know the story that this news clip showed you.
1: the general rule is that the government won’t ignore what you did and definitely won’t give you a job after you’ve done anything illegal, especially when it’s a necessary public service like public transit and public busses 2: no-one hires ex-convicts no matter what 3: I have just a hunch that employees in the subway system told their boss not to hire him because that would make the other employees look bad
so if an embezzler is passionate they should reward him with a bank job? just saying, he's saying he has no control over his actions involving trains and busses, but if that were the case why would he put on a fake uniform and all, that requires forethought aka premeditation im not buying it

Why not clear his record considering it’s the only crime he has committed and give him a job so he can be productive.
"I'm really good with trains, but I can't seem to figure out people."
Holy shit, right in the feels :(
@Malicious Troll Lol, Fucking Trains
Malicious Troll really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
people are shit, I'd rather work with a machine than a person
Yeah this is deep
When he was running the train I was on, I knew there was something wrong when the train was on time, ran smoothly, made every stop, and his announcements were easily understood.
That's funny AF
Rob L. I said the same thing. I am sure that is how he got caught. He made the trains run on time.
Wait, you were on one of the trains this guy took?
@@elevatorsbyliftfilmer1247 he hijacked nearly a hundred train's, each time making dozens of stops with hundreds of passengers. I don't doubt the truth in his* comment.
@@elevatorsbyliftfilmer1247 r/ fuckingwoosh
That's so sad :( he seems like such a nice man, so calm, and honestly he seems super reasonable, aside from not being able help driving trains.
Give the man a damn job!!!!! He just wants to drive trains. And I'm SURE he would live a fulfilled life!
Give him a job
No. He shouldn't get a free pass because of his disability. Try work with people who has what he has first before you get all "supportive"
yo Alex Due to disability laws, employers have to look past his well disability. Might as well give him a job because he seems like he would do a good job. I mean everyone should get a shot to help society.
yo Alex
I'd rather have a guy control the train who WANTS to be behind the train, instead of someone who hates their job and is simply there.
Clifton Carnes good point with some help and treatment this guy could be an excellent employee
Lol first thing I thought, guy fucking likes trains you’re seriously gonna arrest him? He’s actually working it’s not like he’s taking public transit vehicles for a joyride, he’s helping
should give him a job, he clearly understands how to operate it, who knew no one would want free staff lol
imagine all the overtime he will acrue lol
I bet they’d offer him something if he was Caucasian
Yea I agree, he could work in the train yard, or bus depot...what a shame, the guy probably would be the hardest worker there.
I agree he should be. sad people are turning it into a race issue.
thats racist.
Alternate title: Man finds a job he enjoys, and gets arrested for doing well.
In an alternate universe he's a spiderman villain *_*. [Trainer Jacker]
He needs positive reinforcement. Give him a job or at least a supervised job within the department. That's rehabilitation.
Hmmm. You could be onto something but his mind is all over the place.
Ray Vega. Miami, FL amen
@@stellabellafontay9366 As long as he can drive safely and keep to the bus's schedules, that's all that matters. With his Asperger's he'd probably be the most conscientious driver they have!
@@stellabellafontay9366 his mind is not all over the place his mind is actually in one place which is to go to work and drive trains.

He was on time to stations and announced every stop. We’ll obviously he did not get hired, this is the New York subway. They don’t hire people like that.
Jesus christ just give him a job as a train conductor

Might I remind you even though he seems fine to drive a train at any point in time he he messes up because something has changed in one of the trains that's 1. Tones of money on the line and 2. People lives on the line. Not to mention number 3. Which is that if he messes up and the train has to stop, that's people's jobs and lively hoods on the line.

O wow I remember Darius when I use to take the 4 train to work, & the funny thing is I also used to be on his bus the Q52 when I go to queens to visit a friend, this guy is good he knows all routes & stops,
Just another story of how a troubled person is imprisioned rather then given help and how especially a black male is seen as disposable. Or needing to be punished rather then helped
This is someone that I bet wouldn't miss a day of work or screw up on the job because he obviously cares so much. It's just unreal that nobody will "stick their neck out" to give this guy a job.
There probably is no one that can do that. I'm sure the MTA has a blanket policy against hiring someone with several dozen felony convictions.
I'm 99% sure the city mayor has no authority to issue pardons for state law violations, especially felonies.
Mike Johnson the governor would have to do it, but since he's black he doesn't give a shit.
Put him through training, give him an orientation, give him a test and if he passes give him a job as a train conductor.
Christian Metatron operator the conductor open the doors
Train-ing 😏
It is so painful for me that this isnt even brought up once in the video. I guess we're all supposed to assume that this guy cant be trusted with people's lives simply because he has a form of Autism. Its not even a severe case of Autism; people with Asperger's are generally considered to to be on the high functioning end of the spectrum. He could most certainly do that job and succeed.
Burnsy Runs if he has uncontrollable urges to that degree, he is not stable, and is not eligible, he even said when he broke those laws, he felt he was doing was right, and more important than others thoughts
Christian Metatron it doesn't seem like he even needs it, from what I've heard he runs it better then most conductors
"Ay big dog, come up off that train."
*PUTS ON CONDUCTOR'S CAP*
"WOO WOO! ALL ABOARD!"
Just wasting tax payers money 💰 could clearly give him a job
If he did get the Train conductor job he can contribute to society.
Alton hes not saying its the train guys fault, hes blaming the people that are sentencing him wrong
KevinSosaaa transit worker pension IS a waste of tax payer money
to become a train conductor Make sure that your past employment information, criminal history, and driving history are as accurate as possible.
KevinSosaaa Yeah we'll give him a job, in prison. As that's where he clearly belongs.
At least hook him up with a proper gaming pc and train simulator
ACE GAMING forget thst give him a whole damn job and easy promotion
@suseJ he planning for a big bang plan heist get away vehicle.
How's he going to keep a computer if he's homeless...
Officials should take this as a hint to update their systems.
But he loves trains and knows how to work on them.
As an MTA conductor im very impressed that he not only moved the train without causing it to go BIE but was making proper stops which ain't as easy as you think
"Does he need punishment or help?"
I can't believe we're asking this question still!
“No one wants to hire an ex con “...DO THEY KNOW WHAT HE’S IN JAIL FOR??!?!
He's literally in jail for being a better --and even unpaid-- worker than the rest of the transit system
Carl Lewenski ...that can’t be denied. Still, imprisoning him and not getting him assistance or support to help him properly deal with the underlying mental condition is lazy and wrong of our judicial and social systems. We pay for that indirectly too.
Exactly.....btw, Mariah you have a beautiful picture there. Just hope your a beautiful person not just a beautiful face
Carl Lewenski congressmen LMAO! I have even less faith in our current political system than the judicial or social ones. It’s chock full of corrupt and self-serving hypocrites... I’d have better luck starting a #freedarius #traingangchallenge on TikTok to see any change come about honestly
@Carl Lewenski lol
DUH!
conspiracy
(Ooh I definitely touched something sensitive here)
Because tunnel collapse on the daily? Do you think they are not trained beyond how to operate the train itself? What a narrow minded comment.
HAS ANYONE EVER BEEN MORE QUALIFIED FOR THE JOB?!

he definitely has a decent resume now
Evan Hillary Clinton
Evan lol

John Smith you obviously don't know what asperger syndrome is. The only thing people with that form of autism differ from the average human is that they are pretty much anti social and have limited sources of interests. He is surely just as qualified, if not more so, than any other person.

1: the general rule is that the government won’t ignore what you did and definitely won’t give you a job after you’ve done anything illegal, especially when it’s a necessary public service like public transit and public busses
2: no-one hires ex-convicts no matter what
3: I have just a hunch that employees in the subway system told their boss not to hire him because that would make the other employees look bad
Still another private train company should hire him he's knows so much about trains.
he is so passionate and competent about this craft. reward him for those gifts, not punish and never attempt to solve the problems.
Describes how the US treats“criminals” vs how they should treat them.
Tam Pham this USA you are talking about, Its not a developed country.
so if an embezzler is passionate they should reward him with a bank job? just saying, he's saying he has no control over his actions involving trains and busses, but if that were the case why would he put on a fake uniform and all, that requires forethought aka premeditation im not buying it
@@necessaryevil7777 : That's what they did with Frank Abagnale, Jr. (Leonardo DiCaprio) played him in the movie, "Catch Me If You Can".
