    I learned to write out my fears from a video by Crappy Childhood Fairy. When you feel resentments coming up, you would write I feel resentment at so and so because I feel fear that... and then go back to writing fears. When I'm done, I sign off that I'm letting go and then shred the paper.

    making a voice recording if you have privacy is another good way to record your feelings! i find that going back and listening to my recordings and re-reading my journal entries helps me develop more empathy toward myself.

      it's a way to build self understanding and compassion. for me, listening to and reading about my past troubles uplifts the power of my voice and validates my experiences. you have to be honest with your feelings before you can truly move on. it may not work for everyone, but vulnerability with emotions is a sign of strength. i hope you find your own way to regulate your emotions while i have mine that works for me. @@3jesus3christ3

    I as an African American woman who lives with this disorder has decided to remain single until i feel more confident with the rejection from society that comes with the disorder. This disorder produces certain emotional responses and behaviors that most find offensive. After witnessing a close friend who also lived with this disorder end her life after the break up of an engagement. I am very protective of my emotional health because I discovered that many people get off on triggering others who struggle with emotional disorders. I would like to see more content for individuals who are choosing to avoid certain types of relationships because they are hurtful for individuals living with this disorder. Netflix now has a special featuring Amber Heard and the discrimination and ignorant towards this disorder is increasing. Its a tough choice however it is very difficult to interact in a world that makes people feel awful for living with this disorder. Until more mental health providers take the cosmetic prices off of life saving treatment for millions of patients living with this disorder. Many patients suffer in isolation to keep from imploding from being different.

    I was taught to never talk back, to never question anyone, don’t cry and more. I was great at stuffing the best really until I stopped. It took the death of my parents to give up the stuffing. The problem was, I think pretty much all of those close to me thought I was behaving unlike myself and I was being perhaps bossy. I merely was giving for once My opinion. I started stuffing recently as I can’t even stand myself. Perfect timing this video is. Thank you. 😊

    this is such a great video, I don't know why you don't have millions of followers - I suppose because you focus on actually changing, and gaining understanding, rather than the large 'narc' channels that really do a lot of 'you're a victim they're terrible'. I really love your great explanations of the maladaptive process and the useful tips on how to manage, start to manage them. inspiring. perhaps it's because with things like the personality disorders - even at a trait level - people are still ashamed in part because of the popularity of 'narc' channels and 'bpd girlfriend' channels and memes - making these issues still being shameful, and the perpetrators, rather than that we're talking traits here not full on PDs, and even with full P Ds we're still talking about human beings - learning that acceptance and compassion - I saw you have a video about that - is so central. Tara Brach introduced that idea to me, through someone playing it at my sangha (buddhist group). anyway. these are so useful and kind. thank you.

    As a child, I learnt early on to supress my emotions especially crying. I remember feeling a lump in my throat and always supressing the urge. Now was an adult, I find it really hard to cry. I can't shed more than 2 years if I force myself, I end up feeling depleted than better. Also, thanks to the inner child healing job that I'm doing...I can kind of shed more than a few tears now yet just as I began crying ..I start to feel dizzy almost in a panic attack state. It's scary. The heart beat slows down and not a good feeling overall. Should I just stop crying altogether. What do you think?

    • @ariannarivera8629
      @ariannarivera8629 9 месяцев назад +3

      It’s nothing more than a mindset. Remember that. Same thing with facing any fear or working out for a better example and reaching your peak. The only way to push past that peak or fear is to literally face it until you pass it. Your body and mind isn’t used to associating a normal emotion so it shuts down, might even give you a panic attack. Continue to push. Eventually your body will start to get used to it.

    this tacktic was the first step in my bpd journey to recovery ..... and your so right just saying it out loud is a big help and deff doesn't have to be at someone .... deff do that when you want and can but really sometimes its just about actually letting it it or me writing doesn't always work so just walking or taking time alone to say it ou loud can even make a world of difference resentment has been one of my biggest fuels for hostility .... and if it wasn't fo rmy current theprist i woudlent have leaned this .... she did a hostility scale work with me and it showed me that thers a reality of standard median for hostility .... and out of the list of things that drive hostility resentment was one of them and one of my resentments is feeling like i cant talk about my issues or views .... or that if i do it makes me a bad person so i stuff it down and build resentment ..... to brake that i had to start talking even more then i already was as i already new i needed to get it out but i never knew that it dient have to be with resolution or to someone....... just saying it helped me not feel so much resentment in my heart

    The opposite is true for me. I "stuff", and have practiced getting better at stuffing. I journalled about anything and everything since I was a teen, and used to find it very helpful. Something flipped in my mind one day a few years ago though, no idea why, and since then journalling makes everything feel worse. End of the world worse... I would rather stuff than deal with the crippling guilt of dumping my "stuff" on others. So, does it suck? Yup. Is it the lesser of all evils? For me, absolutely.

      If I make suggest what helps me and if you can, look to a trusted loved one/friend to give some words of encouragement then write out your feelings, talk to text, record audio whatever it is you can do to get the thoughts out of your head. You’re not alone, you matter, and you’re loved. I love you for taking the time and courage to find resolve and help. That’s a tall task. Healthy Distractions like video games, cooking, crafting are good, and I know you may not want to do it. These small atomic habits when in distress can really help, BPD distortions (mine as well) are addicted to paranoia and the anxiety don’t feed it with more thoughts. ❤❤❤❤ you got this.
