For people who dont use spreadsheets that much and dont get the joke, Excel is almost all done with hotkeys since there's a hotkey for pretty much everything. Google Sheets doesnt support all the necessary hotkeys like Excel does, but they are slowly getting there. One day they will be.
so here is the official answer to the question, excel is for amateurs and sheets for advanced

excel is shit and full of bugs.
once there was a bug where my rows just wont get deleted and all 1 million rows were getting registered by the site where i had to submit it (i tried everything hiding and all). most painful experience of my life.
I'll also add that even as an experienced spreadsheet user, it's still tricky to migrate over to Google sheets. The good news is a lot of the formulas are similar, but there are definitely differences that take some getting used to.
Slowly is a painful word.

My company transitioned to Google sheets and it was really painful at first but now I'm a Google sheets fan all the way.

I find it's a lot better for collaboration but slows down when the model gets complex. Excel tends to be better there.
I personally prefer Excel over Google Sheets, because that's what I used during my corporate years in the late 1990s. However, I earn a passive income selling Google Docs/Sheets templates online, and I love my extra 78 Euros / 75 USD per day!

That sounds great, I'd love to hear more on how you even find people to sell these templates to.. Are there like.. specific platforms that ?
I think that *both* Excel and Google sheets are really good. Historically, I have used Excel more so I have just stuck with it. It is amazing now, Excel. I started off, 35 years ago, on Lotus 1-2-3.
Lotus & Wordperfect was the bomb
It's the reverse for me. Love google sheets!
Google sheet to me is much more reliable and easy and there is everything.. just the difference in ways in doing things and formats

I really wish Google Sheets had tables. And can create a new row in a table by clicking tab. That's the worst thing about Google Sheets.

I’ve actually really grown to really like and kind of prefer google sheets now! Still got love for excel though.
I've grown to like it too! Been using it about two years now which is hard to believe. Excel is still my comfort zone though!

Just me using JavaScript and css natively with google sheets to make simple web apps that use sheets as my database.

I’m exactly the opposite, Google sheets looks better and there are a lot of plugins, Excel website is not the same as the desktop app
i stopped using excel years ago.. I do not know how many sheets i lost due to he spontanious crashes. Google sheets is the future annd you can do much more.
Easily it is Google sheets for me since it is cloud based & free of cost unlike Excel
I slowly get better at it everyday! There are definitely a handful of things GS does better than Excel, and the collab is much better.

Sheets is free and for the 2 times a year I need it it's worth for me.

I would love if the next chapter starts with us going back up to try and open the hatch while hearing her screaming and loud banging sounds to eventually hear nothing. Then when we open it we see a damaged room with blood on the floor and Kissy standing over her attacker who happens to be that springy jack in the box thing. It's limbs torn and strewn about the room in a mess. Helps show that she might be Kissy Missy but she can also get quite messy.(pissy sounded weird) It might be a waste of a potential threat but if they want to get rid of her they should make her sacrifice herself to save Poppy later on. It fits with her more...... soft demeanor.

Meh. Maybe coz ur job is basic lol. I'd rather be trapped so I can do my accounting tasks efficiently. Googlesheets lacks complexity, not the best at searching, filtering, calculating and analysis.
I use both, I’m given access to both. For collaboration Google has it down like not other. But Microsoft apps are almost too capable.
For collaborating, Google Sheets all day. "Google Sheets was born online, Microsoft Excel merely adapted to it." (use Bane's voice here)

Google Sheets is way too simple and slow to navigate.
Once you know power query and power pivot/data model I’m unsure how Google sheets could compare except for collaboration on more simple projects.
The time saved is offset by how long the desktop app takes to open 😴

The programs are very similar but have a handful of differences in terms of shortcut keys and functions, so there's an abrupt learning curve going from one to the other, but it's simple enough after some consistent practice.
