@@deku1659 you can make it! I played it in June and everything went really well, the piece is really tough but by practicing enough it end up looking not so terrible, remember for the fast parts to play it very slowly before slowly accelerating, my trumpet teacher said to so it until you manage to play it faster than it's supposed to be so you will not have any difficulty playing in normal speed.
I played this solo in 8th grade and some fellow trumpets in my high school are playing this solo so I wanted to listen to it again but I’m mad that it isn’t in Bb.

Grand-Moff Toby i pulled a copy out that I played freshman year of highschool on my Bb trumpet exact same notation and such. And upon further review into the description it says it’s for both Bb and C trumpet(?). So beats me which one it is as I have only played Bb trumpet.
@@derekmichaelson4258 If you play a concert E-flat it is the same pitch as the first note that Phil Smith plays in the recording, so the music in this video is surely written in concert pitch (C). At least that's the pitch that would work with accompaniment, but other versions a tone lower might exist?
I have known this piece for 63 years when I played it in junior high. Smith’s tone is great. Wish she had really followed the dynamic markings and squeezed more drama out of the peace. Does being a super famous trumpet player mean you have to not go too far in your interpretation?
Doing this as my solo tomorrow, just listening to it one last time. Wish me luck!
Eric Nguyen I am also doing this for solo and ensemble but my solo happens in 3 months. GL!
How'd it go?
ViggleWiggle I got a 1. I could have memorized it and gone to state but I decided not to risk it and screw it up.
I hope it went good!

Slightly annoying that the sheet music is in the wrong notation (C instead of Bb) yet the audio is amazing.
it's still in the right key just written for C.
how is it the wrong notation? its for C or Bb trumpet and i almost guarantee Smith ia playing on C trumpet
Imagine you learned to read in c, but suddenly everything's in b :)
This is the audition piece for next year’s district audition for me.

its for C or Bb trumpet
