  • I got it back from the Cerakote Shop. New Build is Finally Done! I hope you enjoy the timelapse.
Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, DPMS AR10 Lower with a Bolt Action Upper from Uintah Precision.
I wanted a bolt action long gun. Most of my friends have an R700 or Savage dropped into a Magpul chassis. I wanted to go a little different route and found a company out in Utah that makes a true bolt action upper for the DPMS AR10 platform. The beauty of this is that you can swap out the upper with a semi-auto upper just by taking the two pins out.
    Parts List:
    DPMS AR 10 Lower Stripped
    Standard Stoner LPK
    A2 Rifle Buffer Tube
    Velocity Drop-in 3.5lb Trigger
    Magpul PRS Gen 3 Stock
Uintah Precision UPR-10 Gen 2 (15" Mlok Handguard)
    22" Matchgrade Preferred Barrel
    Burris Veracity 5-25x50mm
    Burris PERP QD Rings
    Harris HBRMS Bipod
    Surefire Socom Brake

Thanks! It's a Burris Veracity 5-25x50mm with E1 FFP Reticle. So far, I have no complaints. Burris also has a nice app to give you a quick and dirty dope chart that has been handy.

If you were in the area, I would love to teach. It is surprisingly really easy and extremely gratifying when finished.

@@PYROBALLISTA I did not cerakote the internals of the upper or lower. The lower came as a bare aluminum piece from the manufacture. The upper was the standard black anodized. I have had cerakoting done on two of my builds and I would highly recommend taking it to someone who really understands tolerances and how much thickness cerakoting would lay on, especially on these platforms. There is a noticeable difference in workmanship between my two. I noticed it a lot on the takedown pin areas, but after multiple uses and some lube, it worked itself out. This upper is a custom 3 lug bolt conversion and the tolerances are very tight and specific.

@@PYROBALLISTA Yea, so far I have loved Uintahs Gen 2 Uppers for the AR10 platform. It's unfortunate that the cost per round for a 6.5 Creedmoor is just unreal. I would definitely find a cerakote shop that you can talk to. If they feel they can coat the internals within tolerance, then by all means. I have noticed that the upper is a little trashed from the bolt, but all of my semis look the same.

@@PYROBALLISTA yup you got it. There is overspray in the insides a bit and the coating is worn off. Hard to tell from my timelapse. I used the elite series as well. E-190 20150.
