Well that must have taken some research to put all those clips together. Does YT ever hit people up for copyright with clips like that or are there learning loopholes in the Copyright law? Makes it more entertaining to watch with the examples. Good hunting for those Jay. The new angle I find a little too off axis - it is kind of jarring. Especially in a tut on smooth editing. What I think works better that I have seen is slightly off angle with a different focal length. Just my opinion there- lots of great editing tips in there, easy to forget these kinds of things when a lot of us do the one man wears so many hats, thing.
Yeah, I'm still experimenting with the second angle. Not sure if im going to keep it or not. As far as the copyright stuff is concerned, I've only used actual movies as examples a couple of times and I've never been hit. There are Fair Use exceptions to copyright laws, such as using them for educational purposes, like I am, and you can't have more than a 10 second clip (might be longer than that, but I try to keep it under 10 seconds.)
This is awesome information! Looks like I'm going to have to step my game up. Also, you're probably going to get 500 views from me constantly going back and referencing this video.
@@JayLippman it's always good to experiment! for me it looks like it's a bit too profile and a bit cluttery in the background, i mean i would like to see your face more even if it's a side angle!
That was incredibly awesome! I love these kind of videos, man. What a difference between your cam A and B! That bmpcc 6K has an AMAZING image 😭.... which will lead me to some DM for a few questions 😉. Thanks brother, great video!
Jay What type of Cut/Transition would you call where a Vehicle/Plane/Drone flies out of the Frame to the left then the same one or different one flies in from the right as if there was a passage of time?
@@JayLippman I've found in my type of Video 'TOY Model airplanes' The only transitions (CUTS) needed are Fade to & From Black, A dissolve, a Fly out or Fly in, and the CUT. Of course I'm not making an epic remake of 12 O'Clock High either. Just a bunch of O'l Gezzers playing with their expensive TOYs. I Love your stuff. most of it. Like Archie Bunker might say " You must be I-Tally-ian there Talk'n wit your hands there & all.
Not a fan of your ear. I just found it distracting from your content. Maybe replace it for a massive head shot or the other 45 degree side of your profile? Sorry 🙁

This is a college level lecture that's both free and entertaining. So much value. Kids today don't know how good they have it.
Moving toward a teal and orange look. I like that. Keep it up
Thanks!

Yes!!!
I ended up here and only RUclips algorithm knows how but that "monkeys and gorillas and all that stuff" comment made my night 😆
Hahahahaha glad I could make you laugh!
this was a brilliant masterclass under 8 minutes, but Jay, what's up with these profile shots?
Thanks! I'm experimenting with different camera angles. I wasn't very happy with it. Gonna be changing it up.

Hai, Question, the piano on the back improving the video......?? ( like it - and the video too )
It is actually! I made a whole video about how background music can help your videos! And thanks!
@@JayLippman yep good or bad sound is really a factor, make or brake

Sounds like that's would be a motion match cut in a temporal setting.

All good! I'm experimenting with different angles. I agree this one didn't work.
