FILM// Spring Bear Hunting in Montana's Rugged Mountains (2022)

This is a start-to-finish video of a lot of my victories, failures, joys, and frustrations during Montana's 2022 spring black bear hunting season. Ultimately I filled my tag with a beautiful sow, but it wasn't without many failures and grueling hikes that challenged me physically and mentally. I wasn't going to let this tag go unfilled, and I was ready to hike to the deepest canyons to succeed, which is what I ultimately did. Enjoy!

I told my wife them folks are going to have a rodeo when they try to load that bear on the horses. I had horses and shot lots of bear. Try a little vicks on the horses nose or quarter it in your packs. Bear scent and horses don,t usually play well together. Nice video thank you.

Just heads up. I once had a horse that wouldn’t let us load a bear on it. So an old cowboy smeared a bunch of bear blood on the horses nose. It didn’t take long for the horse to lets us load the bear on it’s back. Yes we had a little rodeo, but it worked.

Good advice! If you watch the following video, we put Vicks VapoRub on the horses nose and that seems to be a good solution sometimes

Fantastic job buddy. I've killed plenty of smaller animals. They taste great, and still put meat in the freezer. Don't let any animal rights activists, and lazy bums that have most likely never done this before, get you down with their comments. You're doing great.
I'm actually moving back up there this week. Been gone for two years and can't wait to be back in my old hunting areas. Good luck this spring! It's coming up quick.
