- The film Breaking the Slump. In this film, Robby, along with his friend Travis Hobbs @ntrlbrnhunter, picks up where the last chapter of Robby’s book “Hunting Big Mule Deer: The Stories” ended. In Breaking the Slump, you’ll follow over three years of buck hunting across the West as they try to end a string of bad luck. It’s awesome seeing the multiple years and hunts that it takes sometimes to get an opportunity at a big buck. It’s a good mix showing the American model of hunting and conservation mixed with the evolution of a hunter. Awesome film

I wish that I worked an earlier shift so I would have made the premiere.
Anyway after a couple years of hearing stories about the slump I am glad to watch it unfold on video.
All of the heartbreak on that sticker buck 🦌. I tracked a doe that I shot with a muzzleloader for 8-9 hours and found really good blood then it ran out in the thick brush somewhere.
But you spent a good bit out there learning even more about the quarry you love ❤️ before breaking the slump in the most epic way possible with your buddy Travis doubling up on 30 in bucks. What a blessing from God. 🙏😇🦌

How is it that you get to hunt so many seasons?
Hi, thanks for the watch. I apply for hunts all over the west. Most of them I do not draw, but usually end up with 1 to 3 different tags per year and some of those tags allow you to hunt Rifle and Archery.

If you’re talking about that Archery buck in 2021, no, I did not kill him. That was him that my buddy missed with the rifle 35 days later.
