Consider this. The backing vocals in the later half of the song foreshadow the female vocalist that comes in in the next song on the album, "The Great Gig In The Sky." These guys put a lot of thought and musical skill into their music. The song "Time" is actually two parts. "Time" actually ends at 11:14. It is followed by the third verse of the song "Breathe". The tolling of the iron bell often associated with the church also foreshadows the next song, which was originally known as the mortality sequence. "The Great Gig In The Sky" is about the fear of death. The whole album's themes play on the band's fears, stress and pressures of being in a successful rock band. The song before "Time" is called "On The Run", and it is about the band's fear of flying and of course crashing. Interestingly enough the last song on The Floyd's last album in 1994, starts with a church bell, though its meaning has a twist to it.

Song starts with a heartbeat, its about how when young life seems eternal but as we age we realise time flys, like is fleeting and then we get old and die. Amazing progression .
This song hits a lot harder when you're old. The backup vocals (the ooh and ahh) in combination with the organ are majestic and they're all over the whole album. The very end of the song where it goes into another song is a callback to the song directly before Time called Breathe

Tears can happen with this song. I first heard it aged 15 and I’m 54 now. It has never been less relevant and as, time flies by, it will ONLY get more relevant. Listen closely. It’s all true ❤
When i was a kid, this is the kind of music my dad loved. I liked this song back then but as i get older it makes more and more sense and really causes me to feel something unlike other music does.
My daughters are 10 and 12 years old. From day one they listen to dark side of the moon. They know the lyrics by heart. Their classmates and teachers think it’s weird for their age. Pink Floyd for ever ✌️
I love Pink Floyd. This one song has been my guiding principle throughout my entire life. Time waits for no one and if you're asleep, life *will* pass you by. I've done great thing in my life. joined the Marine Corps, became an electrical engineer, a pilot, a database engineer, and now retired early, giving tours at the world's largest flight museum in the world. I never wanted to be that guy that that discovered 10 years have got behind you and no one told me when to run.
Greetings !! You have just had a Pink Floyd moment. That song rings more true the older you get . I am 60 years old and the first time I herd the album that Time is off of I was about 14 ,a friend gave me a copy and said listen to this cover to cover . It was their album Dark Side of the Moon . I done as he said and was simply blown away by the end of the closing song . And from that day Dark SIde has been in my music collection in some form ever since . Every word in the song time hits harder today than I could ever imagine 46 odd years ago , as does the entire album .... Would be very well worth the time to do a cover to cover reaction of Dark Side of the Moon and you will understand... or maybe have more questions I am sure you will see what Pink Floyd fans have known for close to 50 years, their music is still as powerful and timeless today as the day it was recorded The ride with Pink Floyd will be a mind opening experience as you go through almost a half century , Enjoy !!
I’ll tell you a story. The first time I really listened to the lyrics of this song was 1988 on my way to school. I’ll set the context. I had just bought my first car, a lil Toyota truck from the 70’s, but it was mine, I was free. I’m driving to school, and I smoked a couple of hits off a joint. I popped in the pink Floyd , Dark Side of the Moon tape, and this song came on. I’d heard it before, but never registered the lyrics. This time I did. Watching your reaction brought me back. I had the exact same reaction. I realized that time goes by fast. I realized that this was a perfect song! Thanks for bringing me back young man.
50+ years since the album was released! Glad you found them, you'll want to listen to the Dark Side of the Moon from beginning to end in one sitting, or side a/b as the album was intended to be heard! Don't chop up and randomly play a song from this album, it was a "concept album" which is to say it was meant to be sat down and listened to from start to end. Glad you had the emotional reaction, glad you read the lyrics.
Here's the crazy thing. Pink Floyd makes concept albums. They are very thematic and one song often flows seamlessly into the next. Try listening to this album all at once, beginning to end, and notice how it takes you on a journey. It's why this album was in the top 100 for 900 weeks!
"Time" can be a life changing moment for people. If you want to see and hear spectacular talent, react to "Comfortably Numb" live from Pink Floyd, 1994 Pulse concert. BTW: NEVER pause a David Gilmour guitar solo or face instant retribution from whatever unknown by man dimension that Gilmour exists in.
Pink Floyd is on a whole other level; they're their own genre. They've also influenced every genre of music that's come after them. I hope you listen to more because every song is more beautiful and epic than the last. And the only thing better than Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd live. Don't let the length of some of their songs intimidate you, either. They all leave you wanting more. I recommend the albums Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Division Bell. And the song Echoes is a 23 minute masterpiece. 🤘🏽💗
My personal preference is the “Delicate Sound of Thunder” performance. The back and forth “call and response” solo with David Gilmore and Scotty Page, the closeup camera work. I feel it is a more intimate concert. Don’t get me wrong Pulse is on another level is scale and scope. I was at both, but the videography is DSOT is masterfully shot.
Great Reaction. Try Us & Them with lyrics off the same album...but this album is even better when played straight through all 10 songs, the album plays like one long song with 10 sections.
You noticed how after the intro, the lead singer’s voice comes in so suddenly and strong. Watch the live version: His voice practically “explodes” onto the stage.
So.. words to this are wicked true. I'm older and have limited time left due to illness. I didn't miss the starting gun but let me tell you.. it all went by soooo fast.
When Pink Floyd first stepped into a recording studio, a Lebel Exec handed them a book titled “The Right Way to Make a Hit Rock & Roll Song.” They accepted the book, flipped through a few pages, laughed, threw the book out the window, and proceeded to reinvent music, from the ground up.
Your understanding of everything being the same around you ,was something I'd missed . What you said made perfect sense. Listen to breathe , and us and them . I hear a lot of youngsters say it's ahead of it's time ,but really every generation feels and goes through the same shit over and over, and they always will .
Welcome to the best band ever. There will never be another Pink Floyd.
Thank God. They're merely lullabies for stoned people.

It was fun watching you experience Pink Floyd for the first time. Enjoyed your reaction.
I was a student a long way from home when i was 20 and played the full album (vinyl back then) over and over every day... this song helped me realise i was wasting my life trying be what my parents wanted. I quit uni and decided to do what I wanted. 70 now, no regrets. Thankyou Pink Floyd
Same ❤
Thanks for the reaction. This music will change you and take you on a journey!! I have been listening to Pink Floyd since 1972 and I listen to them every day. They are medicine for my soul. Nobody makes music like these guys!!
I really loved that genuine reaction to that specific song.
This song will, ironically, never die with time. Unique and inspirational.
It’s Totally normal and expected to cry to a Pink Floyd song . There will be many others . Just let it flow . Great Body, Mind and Soul therapy 💯⭐️☑️
I've listened to The Great Gig in the Sky live from Pulse countless times and I have yet to get through it without crying.
They are very therapeutic for sure
@@MeandIandus or at least cathartic...
75 y/o, white male here. I love you bro. You're reaction mirrors my first time hearing this song. You and I are riding in the same car. We are the same. (Maudlin time) I never had a black friend growing up. To my detriment/loss. You're the one reactioner I listen to, that I also listen to what you have to say after the the song is over. (Stupidest thing I've ever said coming up)... It gentles my soul to know someone else sees something the same as I do. Jamoris, this is one of those exceedingly rare times that demonstrate, Our brains (yours and mine) are on the right path and that the rest of the world is wrong. It pleases me to know you'll be carrying on after I pass. Don't get hurt. Claude
Much love Claude!!! ❤️ Thank you for watching, Be safe!! 💯 you are appreciated‼️
Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want you in for every song. They have long intros for just that reason. And you will get people telling you to never pause a solo or anything. You dont know when a solo is coming so ignore those people. We have heard these songs hundred of times we are here to see your reaction. Feel free to pause whenever you want and ask a question or give a comment. . Great reaction by the way.. There are a ton of Pink Floy fans who will watch this video. Look into the band Rush as well.. Another cult like following. Have a good one nd enjoy your journey. You will notice older songs lyrics have a lot more meaning then anything today.
The opening to me is traveling through space and time and after your involved the shock you with the change with drums and lyrics that really grab you the older you get.
My absolute favorite Floyd song
gotta listen to that whole album in one sitting. It's like getting your first kiss
Good job dad. ❤
BEST BAND OF ALL TIME! AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE!
Very emotional song. I think we all feel this one every time we hear it. And the guitar solo compliments it well
I love Pink Floyd.
Jamoris, know you can understand why Pink Floyd has been my favorite band since the early 70's. Over 55 years now! Enjoy more PF!
Would be very well worth the time to do a cover to cover reaction of Dark Side of the Moon and you will understand... or maybe have more questions
I am sure you will see what Pink Floyd fans have known for close to 50 years, their music is still as powerful and timeless today as the day it was recorded
The ride with Pink Floyd will be a mind opening experience as you go through almost a half century ,
Enjoy !!
It's been sampled so much because of the greatness of PF!!!!
The champ here did the most important thing with PF to actually soak up the lyrics! well done man, well done
Nice that you appreciated the lyrics, PF music is so awesome it's easy to ignore them the first time you hear a song!
Your reactions are priceless. It's beautiful to see another soul "get it".
Here's the crazy thing. Pink Floyd makes concept albums. They are very thematic and one song often flows seamlessly into the next. Try listening to this album all at once, beginning to end, and notice how it takes you on a journey. It's why this album was in the top 100 for 900 weeks!
When Gilmour sends guitar signals to heavens.
People in their late 60's and 70's this was the kind of music they listened to.
This band made songs that were too long to be played on radio. One reason why we loved them
Yeah, they simply didn't conform to the Producer standard of three minute songs for hits on the radio. They didn't have time for that nonsense.
Now that you’ve listened to TIME, please check out the LIVE version of Time from the PULSE CONCERT. They are incredible live.
This song is like an existential threat to the soul
Great Reaction. Try Us & Them with lyrics off the same album...but this album is even better when played straight through all 10 songs, the album plays like one long song with 10 sections.
It made me cry watching you discover this epic song. Your appreciation of the lyrics is what got me the most.
You’re going to love Pink Floyd. They are that good. They do alot that you wouldn’t expect. So many great songs to experience. Enjoy the journey!
Great reaction, bro. This is a song that takes on a meaning every year that you're alive. Welcome to the Floyd. Keep up the good work, pal
Once you hit Twenty you can count your life in decades instead of years.🙈🙉🙊
You noticed how after the intro, the lead singer’s voice comes in so suddenly and strong. Watch the live version: His voice practically “explodes” onto the stage.
So.. words to this are wicked true. I'm older and have limited time left due to illness. I didn't miss the starting gun but let me tell you.. it all went by soooo fast.
When Pink Floyd first stepped into a recording studio, a Lebel Exec handed them a book titled “The Right Way to Make a Hit Rock & Roll Song.”
They accepted the book, flipped through a few pages, laughed, threw the book out the window, and proceeded to reinvent music, from the ground up.
Your understanding of everything being the same around you ,was something I'd missed . What you said made perfect sense. Listen to breathe , and us and them . I hear a lot of youngsters say it's ahead of it's time ,but really every generation feels and goes through the same shit over and over, and they always will .
respect...not everyone gets this stuff so fast...you gotta be what they call "an old soul"
I envy you Jamoris... you are on the verge of discovering megatons of musical surprises and pleasures! Go for it young man 😅
