My most prized possession is a sickly fish I caught in Dalaran fountain when WOTLK first came out. I kept it in my bank because I thought the smile on the fish’s sprite was funny. It’s become very special to me and has been in there ever since.

Like im still having on my warrior my old set, its just a combination of tier 2 helmet and chest, hands and shoulders from tier 1 and the rest are some random blues from Scholomance and Stratholme.
But this gear just give me some nostalgia of how i killed the second boss from BWL after 5 hours of failed attempts.
I went behind the aquarium in Deeprun Tram and killed sharks a couple years ago. Their gray loot has been in my bank ever since.
don't even play this game but madseason always has those cool videos.

So relaxing to hear MadSeason talking about WoW rare items, remembering the good old days (I hope Classic makes them come back ♥) and learning new stuff than I couldn't experience like Zul'Farrak.
Very cool. I actually still have my lvl38 orc warrior that I was lvl'ng during vanilla and have kept everything. Once TBC released I quit him and started up a dreanei warrior. I now am the guild master of the guild I was in, somehow, and I've noticed that my weapons changed and I have some things missing from my bank. I log onto him every once in a while to check things out. it took me like almost 3 months to get to 38 lol, I had no one to help me, I had to figure everything out on my own and I was too stupid to look for tips elsewhere.
Switched to alliance?! Race Traitor! No Wonder all your guild mates left you.
Another great video. I especially love those vanilla items you have kept in your inventory. Makes me all warn inside and remembering the good old days of WoW.
Ive played less than an hour of WoW, but I love these videos! Maybe it’s the presentation, or maybe it’s my thirst for “useless” knowledge, but I love these!

@madseasonshow The itemset from the questline you can still get if you make a ticket, they can see u did the actual quests. Asmongold did the same since he had proof he used to have some gear that is not longer in the game, blizzard doubblechecked it and send it via mail. Just in case u want this gear too :)
I recently logged onto an old 19 rogue twink I used back in TBC.. and I found in his bank a "Scarlet Initiate Robes". Turns out it's an item that no longer drops and is somewhat in demand on RP servers..
Gosh I love these videos. They really make me excited for the never-ending grind that is WoW Classic.
I remember being so impressed by the first person I saw able to summon Gahz'rilla, I made it my personal mission to obtain that mallet. Eventually got that Carrot on a Stick too, and wore it with pride for some time! Loved ZF so much. Thanks for that trip down video game memory lane!

Been a subscriber for a while and there has never been a video I didn't enjoy. I love you mad and I think your content and style of editing and narrating are brilliant. Always a treat to see what you put out cause often times it'll take me back to various points and times in WoW's history.
My Orc Rogue is in the same boat as yours Mad. Lvl 60, Sergeant rank, got the warlord gear after BC dropped. Held on to a lot of old goodies including some of the trinkets, quest items, and even some of the poison vials. My first character way back then. Props for the Thottbot reference.

You could try a ticket to get the zandalaris items back, it worked for the naxxramas event items and it could work for those too !

Loved the video. I remember the carrot on a stick trinket and remember it as so much fun to use. Mind you my hunter wore cloth and greys back then as well. Oh the shame of being a noob, and being blissful in ignorance playing solo.

One of my favorite items us from BC. It's the "Time lost figurine" It would turn you into an Arrokoa. Always loved doing dungeons with it on. It even had it's own /dance.
I wonder if the release of Vanilla WoW will contain all these cool quests, and quest items. Thank you for opening your time capsules for us.

The things I like most for not throwing them away are the Spectral Essence that you showed earlier in the series, Egon's Blaster, which seems to still work in Stratholme and a stupidly useless thing, an Off-Hand called the 37 Pound Redgill.
It's a fish that you can equip, for some reason, but it has no stats whatsoever. I'd found this small lake in Feralas when questing there, about as far South in the zone as you could go, just West of where the Ruins of Isildien used to be. It was really strange for me, as there were high-level Hippogriphs there, but they were all Neutral. It was like this magical place in WoW where you could look at the forest and the animals and not have to think about pulling 3 things by mistake and getting killed.
I liked it so much I stayed there to fish and listen to the music, and ended up catching this weird fish thing. Now, whenever I see it in my bank, I remember that feeling from when I was a kid and it's the best ever. I still have the fishing pole too, that's something else that was removed, from a Quest you got from this Dwarf in Darkshore that was a reference to Forrest Gump (he gave you the Blump Family Fishing Pole and a really cool letter that I kept too).
I saw your shadowcraft set at the start, brought up some memories! i still got my "of Elements set" (shaman)

If you want to take your corpse desecration to the next level, add in the drust ritual knife (from a chest in Drustvar) and the soul inhaler (from a rare in Frostfire Ridge) to sacrifice the pile of meat to the drust and then inhale it's soul.

2:10 If I remember correct , besides honor points you also needed marks of Alterac Valley , Warsong Gulch , Arathi Basin and Eye of the Storm battlegrounds to buy the pvp gear
Marks are just for extra honor points. One way to fuck up your rival in ranking. Like go to markbomb at the last minute before current week honor resets. Make sure to hide somewhere to not get honorspied by anyone.
Bas yeah and you could also trade the marks in for xp at one point too.

i have some old toons on i stopped playing a few weeks into cata. they all have old things on them and are still in arena/ and or raid gear from the time. keep up the good content brother

Love your videos!!! I started playing a few months before BC was released, got some ZG and AQ raiding done and I too was someone who saved everything I got. Sadly, on one of my many breaks from the game, someone must have hacked my account. They sold pretty much everything I had. Luckily they didn't see my Zandalar gear and the blade of hakkar. Those were my only prized possessions left. Not sure if i'll every play again though. Haven't been active since Cata

Mallet of zul quest was pretty epic back in days. Having to climb that hill -- it was hell.
This is great stuff. I only played since the last few weeks of Vanilla so haven't an awful lot of rare lvl60 items. Think my most prized thing is the Haunted Memento from the Wrath scourge invasion. Only because i spent the rest of the currency on rubbish and didn't buy the Argent Dawn tabard (which i REALLY regret)
God i remember asking for Page-Swapping in Stranglethorn while leveling in this Zone. "Lf Page 4, swapping for page xx" then you met somewhere (hopefully get not killed by any opposite faction) and traded each page, you have at least 2 times in your inventory
and then the satisfaction to free 4 inv places and finish part 1 of the quests :D

I always use to see a pally in SW on my server that's a walking time capsule too. Level 60 in full AQ gear, tier set, and Thunderfury.

You could probably make an argument to a Gm about getting your ZG items back for xmog
I doubt it. I had the complete set from the WOTLK launch event...where you went to kill Undead under floating necropolis. After transmog came out, I regretted selling them when I got upgrades and contacted a GM, they said they couldn't be retrieved. I tried again, hoping to get a "better" GM, still no.
Asmon got his stuff from wotlk prepatch event restored i think

Yep asmon got wrath pre expansion blessed battle gear of undead slaying back. Told gm he vendored them and he restored it no problem

Sentinel's Guard is my rarest item in the game, I was levelling a Night Elf Warrior in BC and Wrath before the Cata revamp. Did some questing in Feralas, got a plate head piece that was an exact copy of the helm Sentinel NPC guards wear in Darnassus. I am a big Night Elf fan, so I was pretty stoked to get it. Can't get it anymore, it's unique and I wear it all the time.

Your videos always make me want to re-subscribe to the game.. but for the last two times i have, I just have not had fun anymore. I so want to like WoW, but "that something" is just missing for me now.
Juha Koski classic is coming my friend. As long as blizzard doesn’t go belly up. And if blizz does tank before classic hopefully someone has copies of the vanilla server/client squirreled away to then share with the world. Lol
Not only did I lose "that something" with WoW, but I didn't find it with any of the other MMOs I played. Once the end game grind in Lich King wore me down I could never recaptured that magic.

Quit at start of BFA but recently gotten a craving after watching these videos , gonna resub for a month or two, see if I enjoy playing again, or if I should just keep going with FFXIV.

Before the Cataclysm, before the Cataclysm... It is good that they changed almost entire Azeroth how it looks so the story moves on, BUT I wish they already had the technology of talking to an npc to take us back to the old world... like Zidormi and Chromie in some zones like Blasted Lands, or now Darkshore etc.

I have my 70 time capsule a Tauren Warrior, I love him. He was a 39 Twink and was my main in vanilla lol and leveled him to 70 in burning and there he stays.

@MadSeasonShow Whats up, man? Love the vids! After watching a ton of your videos, I would love to see one that goes through some of the changes that Cata made to the game. Hell, that could probably be a series in and of its self. But having played through it, I honestly forgot how much stuff Cata changed. Its easy to remember the zone changes, but there are so many little things that were lost to that expansion.

I started in late pandaria. Probably a year or so before WOD? anyway I wish they had kept the stuff like the gong mallet to summon the hydra in game. Sounds like it was a lot more adventure.
