This is exactly what I’ve been feeling watching his videos, but couldn’t put the feelings into words... It just makes me feel like I’m 13 again, on a saturday morning, playing WoW, leveling in Loch Modan and everything being just cozy and fine. I miss that so much

Your question on confirming if Res sickness came from player Resses in your video. It did, I have the original WoW case buried somewhere and remember reading the guide one time and was confused as to why player resses gave res sickness. With in combat use it makes sense.
Geeez man, that's exactly what happened to me when I first went to take a boat from Menethil Harbor. And I was a male Dwarf Paladin! Such nostalgia!

Azerite armor which requires research to figure out what is the best, every time you get an upgrade!
how they managed to do that without adding any real depth to the game is a stunning accomplishment in game design failure
in truth, to be efficient in vanilla you HAVE to make research or ask people. getting spell resistant gear or specific gear and classes for bosses, figure out how consumables work, how talents and skills work and so on.
stuff that was never explained in game, and without a database to pick you up.
Nowadays it's doable to require some research for a thing in game - you actually have databases! you can't simply ignore the technological leap that there has been over 15 years.
The boat thing was hilarious. I remember in vanilla my laptop was so bad that when I took a zepplin the loading screen would take so long to load that when it did the zepplin had already left and was about to hit the loading screen again. Almost infinite loop haha

For some reason, I always pictured MadSeasonShow as that inn keeper that always welcomed you after a long day of adventuring. He was always happy to see you, and was always glad to hear your stories and even share some of his own. Was always glad to assist you in any way he can and even pay for your drink out of his own pocket from time to time. Just hearing his tales would inspire you to keep going at it even if the world of Azeroth would spit in your face. Thank you MadSeasonShow for all the videos that you do and all the work you put into them.
Mt. Hyjal exploration with Mt. Gagazet soundtrack! Love the music choices and also how well the video is structured.
This was my favorite patch in beta, I hit 50 on my 2nd character (Rogue) just before they implemented it, and Black Rock Depths was the biggest most impressive piece of content i had seen in any game ever. Spent weeks running it, figuring out all the different sections and boss encounters.

Thanks for these and the work you put on making them, I think i arrived in WoW maybe a little bit after this, I remember I still had to level up weapons, but not having skill points, but I do remember the talent tree.

I always pictured a "Mocking" blow being similar to flicking their forehead or booping their nose. How insulting is it to be fighting an opponent and they think so little of your honor that they boop your nose mid combat??

The closest real life thing i can think of is slapping the opponent with the flat side of your sword rather than cutting with the blade. And it served a similar purpose

Make a macro with:

And when you use it, your character will point, and the game will say "(character's name) boops your snoot"

I've always loved that old school water sound you use in your intro
Forage is likely another thing out of the 1,000 that WoW took from Everquest, it was just a small 1 minute cooldown that Iksar/Wood elves/Hobbits got innately, and Druids/Rangers also got. It basically allowed you to scavenge up some food/water from the surrounding area, with some other foraged items useful for completely Epic Quests, food/water in Everquest was actual sustenance vs. in WoW where it lets you regen HP/Mana faster.

Well, for one thing, it would still be an actual MMORPG.
As a matter of fact, they do. In one of their first conferences, they state their design philosophy is to make MMORPG's simple and intuitive (at least compared to the competitors), which it certainly was for its time. Nowadays, it's overly simplified and virtually anyone can play it, meaning their design philosophy hasn't changed, but gaming in itself.
When I watch these videos I feel like I'm watching some introductory videos from Blizzard for Classic. Please do more of them! :)

I want to thank you for your interesting and non-clickbaitey videos MadSeason... I've been watching for years now and you're one of the rare frequent users that don't make crap. Also.. props to Mad Season... miss Layne.
Oh god, 2% flat crit increases that's a repeatable learnable? That's actually insanely busted. Can you imagine all of the people running around with crit builds dumpstering people left and right?
On my feral in Wrath, I had 60% crit fully buffed. It was a bit insane.
A practically unkillable tank in Wintergrasp that does mediocre damage. That goes a long way in pvp.
Tanking a 5 man, I always topped the dps. Unless a mage aoe'd everything and made me earn my pay. And I remember a warrior..
A mocking blow would be you hitting the enemy's weapon on purpose while laughing at them I'd assume.
Time to light a bowl, sit back and enjoy

That old skill system is pretty interesting! You could build some diverse and interesting characters like that, but it'd need to have a limit or everything would be broken. Probably for the best that they went with the talent trees instead.

I remember loving that Hunters were added; that you could throw 2 dots on them and they would run away from the zerg outside tarren mill to die alone over 20sec or so

The path between Winterspring and Hyjal had a unique gate in live. At the undead event when you would turn into a ghoul you would be able to interact with doors and gates that you wouldn't be able to do normally. So I opened the gate of Hyjal it had a unique opening with pink clouds around it.. Unique effect! Wonder what else was interactable as a Ghoul.. some gates and doors in Stormwind for sure 😂 had other players stuck and confused
I can't wait for the change of pace... I might even play a rogue again. I miss the feeling of immersion and being invested in a class. The simplification we have today did me in

I have never seen the barrow dens up there on Mt Hyjal - but that cave is the exact same (layout and all) as the one in Teldrassil - I remember doing a quest in there on alts. Never not getting lost in that damn thing.

I’ve been playing a burning crusade server and it’s pretty fun I get to see all the vanilla zones as they were originally and the classes are all way more fun I’m actually looking for a full on vanilla server and a WOTLK Server.
