Control Stick NOT Working Properly on Nintendo Switch Lite? FIXED!!!

- I show you how to fix the control sticks on the Nintendo Switch Lite. It may be sticky, doesn't spring back to middle, pauses, wont go in one direction without much force, gets slightly stuck in one area, ghosting as if it has a mind of its own, continues to drift slightly on one side, not working properly, etc, etc.

Fixed my left joystick not moving up correctly. Thanks lots for giving me the confidence to just do it. I was hesitating between doing this with alcohol, and simply dis-assembling the switch lite and repairing it from the inside. After using alcohol and compressed air from a can directly into the left joystick on the front of the switch and moving it around / clicking it, it is now working well again and not seeing any issues as of yet. Thanks for letting us all know this is safe to do as a first step in attempting to fix this problem, and that it most likely will help.
Amazingly enough this actually worked!
My left stick was almost completely incapable of sensing left/right movement, to the point where it wasn't even able to calibrate. After pushing it around to get it unstuck I was able to calibrate it, although there were still issues, the alcohol method managed to clear that up however and the stick is completely usable now. It's definitely not a perfect fix, my left stick doesn't work as well as the right one but it's still at least a 90% improvement!

I'll admit, I was sceptical that this would work. But I am happy to report this works!
Before calibrating, circling had a drift towards the centre on the right side.
So I followed this and wiggled it like crazy, blew in it like a mad person, then calibrated and BAM worked.
I had to go play something for 6 hours, just to make absolutely sure 😉
No fluke, works perfectly.

So, I have Switch Lite. Idk why but recently my left joycon analog stick had a very weak down direction signal so whenever I’d play my Animal Crossing, it would bother me because my character would walk instead of running. I thought there was an invisible obstacles in the game that I did not see or a simple bug or glitch. Then I decided to do check the control sensitivity on setting because it got worse. Little did I know it wasn’t the functionality of the game but the system itself. Then I searched the videos on how to fix the u responsive analog stick and found this video. It helped me so much. Basically I turned off the system completely (not sleep mode). I used the alcohol with my Q-Tip and rubbed inside the analog stick in every direction. And then once I was done, I blew the air from all of the directions on the analog stick and let the alcohol dry. 5 min later I turned the system on and played my Animal Crossing. My unresponsive left joy on analog stick was completely fixed. I could not believe it. I just saved $40 plus shipping for the fix and whoever this guy is, I owe you. Thank you so much

This happened with me. but I had it with up and down. I havent tried it and I dont know if I have the materials hope it works with mine
See I have the same, it got so much worse yesterday when playing Minecraft, when I would try to pull my stick down I’d back up really slow and sometimes it’d take a second to register. I thought I was going to have to get a replacement but it seems to be doing good now!!

@@corapage4944 the problem was that I was not pressing them hard enough to hear a clicking sound 🤦🏻♀️ I thought that could damage the joysticks (I know, it's embarrassing)
@@lia-cj1lf dang, im glad you found why it wasnt working, but i have the same problem except im pressing hard enough, my right analog clicks but my left will not. And it also doesnt let me calibrate or move left and right, only up and down.

I cant believe this actually worked because i was always led to believe the whole stick needed to be replaced!! I already had it replaced once but wanted to make sure i tried everything and this worked instantly. I used some duster for good measure and well see if it stays fixed but tysm you just saved me 30$!!

I noticed it was getting harder to simply walk around in inkling form (On Splatoon) and how it became difficult to move because I swam so slow. This helped a lot :)

I'm sure the problem causing the joy-con drift are the R3 and L3 buttons. I've seen a lot of things pointing to this. Just don't press down on the joy-cons/Switch Lite joy-stick and everything should be fine. Something about something bending when pressure is put on it. I read this somewhere. I'm planning on getting a Switch Lite for Christmas so I've been reading up on this.
It's not just the Switch/Switch Lite. Other controllers with similar buttons have the same thing happen from what I've been reading up online. Maybe this is why some people don't have the problem. They never press down on the control sticks like a button as much as others do or not at all.
Some games like zelda breath of the wild you need to press down on the tumbsticks for looking at map pinpointing temple's.

WORKS LIKE BRAND NEW!! My joystick on the left didn't even go back to center or touch any of the sides before I watched this video. Now after I'm very amazed with the outcome! Tysm!!
on the cleaning part with the alcohol. there's a small rubber "skirt" right underneath the stick that you can lift up and clean with a cotton swab soaked with alcohol. clean it good and get the dirt out.

My switch moving buttons couldn’t move left and right at first and This actually works! I was worried that the alcohol might break it but I worked really well. After I put it in the moving button I could move it left and right again!

I was having problems while running around in totk collecting koroks and was confused on what was going on. It only took recalibrating one and blowing the other, but I also busted out some rubbing alcohol just to be safe

I recently sent my switch lite in for repair of the left analog stick bc of ghosting and got it back saying the stick got switched for a new one. about a week later the ghosting started again but in a different direction, I was so ready to send it in for repair again but moving it around and pressing down like crazy actually resolved the issue! I had not done the Q tip honestly but I used compressed air and that should have gotten anything out.
