Dear Mr the fix. It worked. My 5 year old who plays fortnight like a 10 year old dropped it last week and broke. We ordered the 14 buck kit from Amazon. Took us just under 2 hours to complete. She did the fixing while I controlled the pause and rewind for this video. We did step by step didn't miss a beat and u saved me from having to buy him a new one. Only thing I would say it having a pair of needle nose with plastic on ends of it that helped us a lot. Thanks very much for your detailed video. My wife and I are not good with things like this

All fixed! It appears i had a bad connection from my power switch to the smaller board as i replaced both sticks. Thank you for the step by step walk through!

Thanks for the very clear video - and I love the powered screwdriver (very jealous)!!

Damn, my wife just broke off the head of the joystick from the right side of my sons switch lite. This is way too involved for me :( Thanks for showing how complex this is, wish Nintendo had the foresight to see that this could be a common repair and make the process a lot easier :(
I need help. I replaced 2 Nintendo Switch joysticks (all 4 of them). One came out perfect no issues and the other has no power after replacement. I tried everything, same procedure and process as the one that works. I reinstalled the old ones to see if that was it and still no power. No loose connections, no damage to the cables, added new thermal paste to both of them. Is there any reason why this happened? I even tried all the methods. Charging it, doing the power + low volume method. Nothing works. Could it be the battery? Previously the battery would drain pretty quick compared to the one that works. Do you think when I disconnected the battery it just gave out?
I added a link in the description for a nice ifixit toolkit. I use that kit all the time, in the video I used an electronic screwdriver, but they are expensive and require practice to use properly.
is it hard for you to pull out the cables? I want to do this to my switch but i'm worried I might break one of the cables by applying too much force. Is there way to rip out out the cables without damaging anything?
