to folks watching this: this guy made an amazing video, i followed it to the tee and everything worked well. some things to note: 1) let the alcohol soak in longer to weaken the glue. I didn't and only part of the adhesive came off 2) buy extra screws if you can! some will go missing, others will wear off 3) wipe the inside of your glass screen BEFORE putting on the LCD 4) check the buttons before u attach everything. sometimes you might miss a screw or the magnet might be out of position 5) thermal paste - do not put too much! spreading too much will worsen the heat transfer, and many folks have said that the LCD problem is due to heating issues. when i opened my own switch the thermal paste was like clay XD 6) ventilate your switch from now on- no more fancy cases without air gaps LASTLY, THANK YOU DUDE!!!!!
With thermal paste, clean it with IPA and a fine cloth, nothing even slightly abrasive, or it'll scratch the soft metals, which can cause heat pockets, on the part you're trying to cool and you only want a pea sized amount, when reapplying, unless the CPU, is like a threadripper or something else massive. Another pro tip, get yourself a non conductive pan or mod mat to work on, so you don't lose anything, also, as long as you don't ugga dugga a screw, and you apply pressure, while slowly working it loose, it'll never strip. Metal likes it slow and hard, and wood likes it fast and hard, as a good rule of thumb. You could work in a positive pressure environment, or have a humidifier going, to cut down dust.
thanks dude, i bought one with a smashed screen for $80 and was afraid nintendo made it super difficult to change the screen like some phone companies do

Do not to use alcohol unless absolutely 100% necessary on anything with an LCD. You will get alcohol in the backlight diffuser. Nintendo clearly states not to use isopropyl alcohol on their site as it does worse than good on a switch, it damages the plastic and the screen.
@@sthetixofficial no it's not I just destroyed 2 screens until finally finding out its the IPA rinning into the screen. the picture will look milky where IPA got into the screen. your procedure is fine if replacing a broken LCD but if you aim to take out a working LCD never ever inject IPA like in this video.
