Country folk are the back bone for this beautiful country called the USA. We are a Jack of all trades and work very hard at it. Southern hospitality is a thing but don't take advantage of it. We can be meaner than a rattlesnake if pushed too far. Preciate y'all!!
Glad to see your arm has healed up. Heck of a camp site. The table, chairs, and gun rack you made for that feller in Hannah's video was amazing craftsmanship !! Don't hit the wrong nail .Excellent video.
That modified A frame design is GREAT! Jeff, you are a man of many talents and a master of them all. You are a workin machine! I missed seein your helper in this video 😕
Jeff, you are magnificent. I really believe all this is in your head how you wanna do it awesome job looking wonderful you’re such an awesome person to explain everything to people are doing it and you and Hannah. I know she’s a lot of help. You got a beautiful daughter. Appreciate you, love the videos keep them coming Johnson
Jeff that looks awesome,I'm kinda your neighbor here I'm an ole ga boy,I been a sheetrock man all my life and have done some building but nothing like you sir,I've watched many of yours and Hannah"s videos and just love everything y'all stand for amazing people or like I like to say good country folk and by the way Jeff you and I have a fair bit in common,my name is Jeff and I'm also 50 and I just got say man you have done a wonderful job raising Hannah so much respect in that lady awesome job man and Merry Christmas to you and Hannah and y'alls family God bless
Always a joy watching a master craftsman work and you didn't think anybody wanted to watch you. You almost missed your blessing now go back and look it over at how many new friends you have made. I laugh all the time when you got Hannah out with you daddy's baby. Man that's good keep up the good work. Have a blessed Christmas season with your family 🎄👍
@Hastelloy X no i haven't but I will definitely check it out. I'm currently swapping engines in my truck. I figure if I can do this than i surely can build my own home
The house has that old Dutch look to it, turning out nice you guys kept pushing thru the cold. That spray foam for the bottom of the house would be ideal that stuff works really well.
Nice choice on using Hedge for porch pillars. Give it a couple years you won't be able to drive a nail through it. Since I'm from Kansas I'll call it Hedge.
Looks great, Jeff. Awesome you showed your stringer layout. BTW, you love archery hunting. You should take some of that Osage Orange home, paint the cut ends, let cure and make some wood bows for pig or deer. Plenty of how to videos.
Love that Osage Orange. We have Ironwood up here in west central Minnesota that is very similar. I know a guy that made a large corral out of cedar posts and ironwood rails. It's been over 50 years ago and its still standing and looking good.
Would love to see more timelapse footage of the building action. You may think it's boring but seeing the process is nice and simply watching others work is relaxing! This coming from a 55yo builder!
Looks great! You can tell it's not your first time! I'm amazed by a good experienced carpenter/ framer! I just could never get it, just enough to get by at minimum. Lol
You did a great job on the Kansas Cabin. Spray foam insulation if you can afford it, it's great. I sure would like a copy of the plans. It would look at the lake.
Jeff that is a great design. Someone will be trying to copy that design. It is unique brother. That's what makes it amazing. Preciate ya'll. And Merry Christmas to you and your family brother. Preciate everything that you and Hannah have shared with us. Much Love and respect to you all.
If you go with the “closed”cell foam it will strengthen your structure a bunch! Also animals can’t eat through the closed cell. It is worth the extra expense by far!
It also will help keep the the Bugs, mice and pack rats out, that's one on the problems we have at our Cabin .What really helped us was when we graveled around the cabin and garage area. Critters don't like open area's. Also helps keep the mud out of the cabin.
Rats will chew right through "closed cell"....termites won't eat it but they'll tunnel through and use it as a super highway, by the time you figure it out the termites have destroyed your building. FFS, yard farmer!
@@alcopower5710 I have a building with foam insulation. It was sprayed 8 years ago and has been separating from the studs. It's an outbuilding so there is no interior wall covering....huge let down. I'm in the process of tearing it out and installing rock wool insulation. Rock wool is, for the most part, fireproof and repels water. I love it.
nice design boss spray foam the top floor and loose batts on bottom floor should keep top pretty warm in winter as well as bottom floor i would also enclosed that underneath access should keep that wind clear from it all
I have been waiting to see what y'all got done and what y'all got done is just a great looking cabin Jeff. I really like when y'all used to hedge tree trunks for the corners of the outer edge of the porch. That is so natural looking. Great job to y'all and Hannah for such a great job and a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to y'all. Take care and can't wait to see what y'all do next.
Great work and very impressive. You definitely have a great spacial recognition of where and how a structure comes together. You should write a book of musings or have a show like that Duck Dynasty bunch. Merry Christmas and stay safe. Get that gash fixed up on your thumb.

“MACHINE JEFF” thats should be your name. Great job. Simple, unique and Neat.

You don’t work the hedge the hedge works you :-)
Love the design !
Good lord has gave you a great spirit. The knowledge you have acquired in your life is a testament to the AMERICAN DREAM.
Such an inspiration to us all bud. I'm wanting to build our home myself. A barn style house with all open floor plan.
@Hastelloy X no i haven't but I will definitely check it out. I'm currently swapping engines in my truck. I figure if I can do this than i surely can build my own home
@Hastelloy X good luck my friend!!! I got so mad sometimes I came up with my cuss words
@Hastelloy X I would like to see that if you record it.
I hope you design it better than this shack.
Great job! The back plate on the steps is called the risers. Treads are flat and risers are upright.

Don't forget the skinning shed looks great buddy keepem coming
Never seen tin siding here on Long Island except commercial buildings. I like it. Assuming screws have rubber washers on them.
The house has that old Dutch look to it, turning out nice you guys kept pushing thru the cold. That spray foam for the bottom of the house would be ideal that stuff works really well.
Looking great.

Your designs and craftsmanship is awesome. We have been wanting a outdoor kitchen. You are inspiring me to try it.
Looking like a fine hunting cabin for y'all. Merry Christmas everyone
Mike Steward they just need to plant a bunch of trees around it to hide it so no one will see it.
