I've been professionally smoking for my restaurant and catering for 16 years now. Been in more compilations than I can count, and I'M TOTALLY IMPRESSED AND BLOWN AWAY WITH THAT SMOKER! GREAT JOB!
Nice video Jeff. FYI - you can use those old saw blades....when you need to cut metal, just turn them around and run them backwards and they do a good job of cutting metal roofing, sheet metal, etc...
Damn Jeff that is one damn good idea. Never thought about using an actual wood stove or firebox in a smoker. Every video I see everybody builds the firebox from scratch. Hell you could sit out there with a chair and just watch the fire, with a beer! Nice job can't wait to see the final product in action!
Jeff may not reply much, but he apparently reads the comments. Last time several of us said we would like to see a smoker build and look what we got. Thanks Jeff! Another great video, keep them coming, I'll be watching. Have a great day and take care of that arm.
My dad had a smoke house like your old one and many Virginia smoked hams have been smoked in it also. Ham sausage bacon deer all kinds of deliciousness had came out of it for years. At last it's no more than a memory, his wife lost his house and everything that was there. Now just memories. We appreciate ya and Hannah!
I have found Jeff’s (and Hannah’s) videos recently and Jeff explains how to do things in a very easy to understand way. He is a natural born leader and teacher. Honestly, he should be a coach. He inspires belief and confidence. Thanks Jeff !
That’s a great way to recycle an old hot box, I got an old wood burning stove and that’s a great idea to reuse it to make myself a smoke house. Thanks Jeff and take care of that arm.
A smokehouse is something all homes should have and my family has always had them from my dad, brothers and uncles. Heck we smoke everything, Venison, Catfish even Carp. If we eat it we smoke it. Enjoyed the video Jeff..🇺🇸👍👍👍👍
Some Guy Smoked Carp has a totally different flavor and texture when it’s smoked, actually you wouldn’t know you were eating Carp. Smoking is the only way I would ever eat Carp, give it a try I’m sure you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the outcome..!
some of the best bbq i ever ate in my life came from home built smokers , i have one built from a 40 gallon water tank and a 20lb gas bottle and it works just fine , keep up the good work preciate you
I thought you was building a heated Outhouse, when I saw the thumbnail, but that is an ingenious way to build a smokehouse... My grandparents used and old black lard kettle to build their smoke fire in. You can hang a whole ham in there after it comes out of the salt cure box... Thanks for sharing
I looked up “ Building a smoker “ because I’m tired of the gas and electric ones. This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you friend. I have an old wood fired heater I found on a ranch while doing Dozer work . I think I’ll duplicate your design. Thanks again. Be blessed and stay safe.
Thanks for the smokehouse info, I made one last weekend and I love it. Already smoked crappie, pork butt and deer jerky. Thanks again, you and Hannah are awesome!
I built one looks like an outhouse years ago. It's 4×4 6ft tall and have smoked about 600lbs of summer sausage and jerky it does awesome! Nice job! You build handy things.
Jeff you are a warrior, you do more with one good arm than most do with two. Awesome build, I don't think there's anything you can't build. Stay safe y'all.
Excellent job on the new smoker building, glad to see Hannah helping with the project. Love you guy’s, Stay healthy, God Bless you, hope your arm is getting better.
Looking good- I built one the same size this last fall, used tin roof inside and out with rock wool insulation - but then again I am in Canada and was smoking at Christmas. That door may get hot my friend it needs a handle
You are an excellent carpenter, I enjoy watching your videos. The two tables you made were amazing, and now the smokehouse. Looking forward to future videos.
THANKS JEFF I WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BUILD ONE BUT THOUGHT IT WAS JUST TO HARD TOO NOW I'M GOING TO BUILD ONE IN MY YARD INSTEAD OF BUYING ONE AT WALMART !!!
Great idea with the stove and design of it . By burning it a little bit hot won't hurt a bit if anything it will cure the inside for when it time for the yummy goodies that are headed that way. And yes I plan on using your idea for one for myself. Keep up the great videos
I didn't have a fireplace insert but actually that first smoke house was a major influence for me to build my own. I am still learning to control my temp. I fire proofed the inside of mine a bit. Thanks for the video.
Hey buddy I've got 1 of those heaters and a 1200 gallon tank already set up for a smoker very proud you showed me a good way to use the heater and save me some valuable time, thumbs up to the video
I love using old circular saw blades as shims! LOL Use what cha got. That turned out nice. Looking forward to seeing the racks and some nice smoked meat. Pure Southern Engineering.
Not bad at all. And if it gets up to 250 degrees you could BBQ pork butts and beef briskets in there no problem! Add a fan to circulate the smoke and probably be able to get steam in there too. I think it will definitely work. Thanks for the video Jeff! 🇺🇸
Nice smokehouse 👍 Smart move using the wood burning stove and it looks cool too 🤔 Hope you and the family are happy, healthy, and staying safe when required ☺

Jeff that’s looking good man. I Like that you can feed the fire by opening a smaller door.
