You could have lifted your LR4 another 2" by going into Extended Off-road Height. Once you are in Off-road height, you put your foot on the brake and then press the "up" switch and hold it for three or more seconds. You would have got another 2+ inches of clearance from that. Just enough to get you into trouble! =)
Yep, LR4 are very capable in the snow and off road. I had L88, Disco II, Range Rover Sport and now I drive a 2016 LR4 HSE Lux. I've been driving Land Rovers since 1974. Nothing better to be in the open in style! But my old Unimog beats all of them, but slow.
@@ghost6500 Well ya,, portal axles will do that. LOL Just got my first RR 06 SC. Love it even though I've had to work on it a lot to catch up with the bugs the previous owner neglected, but I'll have it tip top in no time! Took it 4 wheeling once so far. ruclips.net/video/Wx5LiMp3yfI/видео.html
Doe that apply to a Discovery 3? I've tried several times to hold break down and press the up button but it never works. Then I saw another video that a youtuber made and he showed if you want to go in super extended mode you would have to put something under the truck put in access mode let hit the wood ect and it will raise it up two additional inches. Is there another way? Can't see carrying a piece of wood around. Can you clarify? Thanks
1. Get rid of those awful sidesteps, they are truly abysmal. 2. Lift rods or GAP tool and give yourself a 2" lift 3. 275x65x18 AT's on Compomotive wheels @ a couple of PSI higher than normal pressure. You should have less traction issues.
Tyres r very important when in snow or the mud of the rainforest of Borneo. If going with all round tyres asking for trouble. I have hd land rover freelander, Discoveries, 110 no issues in snows of mud. They are built for off-road proper 4x4's. There the best. My second best is a Nissan Safari

Allseason tires are not meant for off road snow.. atleast have snow rated with spikes for what you was doing. And must keep chains with you. Lr4 is a awesome off roader!
Love the video....lol ..for some tea?? Where was the russian vodka!!! I know your busy but next time add the Russian subtitles to English for when you guys had difficulties....your weren't kidding ,,,prepared! Handwamers to steak to chain saw??? Only thing missing was a small snowplow add on for the front of that nice white jeep. Lmao🎩⛑ stay safe out there!!!!!
Have you gone to Meadows this week? I just see a ton of snow si I'm hoping that I can make it up there sometime! I have a Land Cruiser with traction tires, but that's about it (super deep treads).
Yeah, too bad the tyres were bad. No need for mud tyres even. Normal winter tyres or studded winter tyres are enough for somone, who rarely goes offroading. And they are better on icy roads. Also in deep snow don't use "snow mode". It's for highway use. (did this mistake myself at first) Sand or mud and ruts is better. And don't forget to put to low range :) Some winterwheeling with D4 on my channel, but not nearly at the same production level:)
to drive in snow, the most important part is the tires, you NEED something that's at least 3 mountain peak snowflake rated. As for the car itself, minimum something AWD/4WD with decent ground clearance, but tires do 90% of the work in snow.
I believe that both are not from the same class to compare . To make that right you were suppose to bring on Land Rover Defender to compare with Jeet wrangler.
Conspicuous Gma The discovery has the same capability as the Jeep they only thing is that the Jeep has mods so nothing stock like the discovery compares until you do the same mods
The Discos are absurd on the trail. They will do anything a Wrangler will. The advantage to a Wrangler is you can modify it much more. Other than that, the Discos are fine

Actually they are not over priced. Have you see how much Jeeps are when fully equipped ? As much as the Land Rover. Except Land Rovers are way nicer on the road yet are very capable off road. But yes off road Jeeps are more capable. But who only drives a jeep off road?

Meant to be used to get you out of trouble hehe
It goes from off road height, to extended mode and finally into super extended mode. At least my LR3 does.
You learn what your vehicle can do,,,,traction! Good tires and you can put chains on ....even on a 4x4....works great!
Awesome fun. Cheers 🇬🇧 🍻
Pretty cool to see a Land Rover actually do something lol.

Very nice land rover
I am surprised that the Jeep Wrangler did so well in the snow. Must have had great tires. Surprised nobody was running chains in these conditions.
I know right. I have it’s twin and with Firestone destination x/t it would be stuck in half the Snow. I want whatever those tires are.
I see you put it into extended mode. But did you also put it into Super Extended Mode to get that one to two inches??? 🤔
Good job!!
We want to wheel so bad this time of year but we just hate snow bashing. Looks like you guys had some fun though!
Did you engage „Grass / Gravel / Snow” Terrain Response system? Only then your locking differentials start to work.
All season tires in that snow?! I think Russians just love to get stuck

definitely crazy of u to go up there without snow tires in all that snow 🤣🤣

Fun video! Does your LR4 have the HD package with rear lockers?
In which mode are you
you got hella balls to drive in that with all seasons... I don't even drive on dry paved roads on all seasons.
Why?
@@AmazingAndre because summer tires are superior in the summer, and winter tires are superior in the winter. There's no place for a no-season for me.

You should be good to go
yours would have been awesome with some decent tires or chains....at least air down that would have helped!
I did air down halfway through but still my tires were road all season tires
Get you some bfg km3s...you will love your land Rover after this..btw I have Land Rover trek d2...i would die to have your conditions!

PPS: You have locker. Every D4 has center diff lock (rear is optional). It's locking automatically in some modes. Especially if You are in low range.

Why did you get a LR4 if you are not an outdoorsy person?
I was after I got it lol. Plus 90% of land rover owners are not outdoorsy
Land Rover needed chains
Just tyres and lift nothing else
LR4 is a beast that loves such trails
The jeep is not beautiful but so effective on the snow
U better thank ur rubicon friend
So sad you cant drive a range rover, it will have no promlem with that littel snow. It´s your driving skills :-)
