You need to fully clean your roof of snow before driving. If you suddently hit the breaks you will get all that snow on your windshield and you will have to stop in the middle of the road to take it of. Or drive without a view through the windshield until you can stop.
Two years ago Virginia passed a law requiring everyone to clean the snow off the roof of their cars, crossovers, SUVs, trucks and vans. I think that was around the time a viral dash cam video went around showing the snow/ice coming of the roof of something and smashing the windshield of the vehicle with the dash cam.

Strange that a country that rarely sees snow anything as deep as that is so good at building a truck that handles it so impressively. In the UK a couple of inches of snow usually means traffic chaos, with huge tailbacks. Maybe we should all be driving Landrovers?🤔

I’m ok with snow, but not with sliding, I go immediately into panic mode and lock up, many years ago my wife slid her Suzuki XL7 off the side of driveway in a 36 inch snow, she got out before it went over, but did around 8 thousand dollars in damage, the body shop we took it to did an awful job and we lost our tail when we traded it in on a CRV, this happened all because of a bad decision not to park at the bottom and wait for me to get home and carry her stuff up. Thank God she wasn’t hurt! Another great TFL video!!! We Kind of enjoyed your video, we do miss Colorado, but they’re from 94 to 2005 Drove tractor trailer all those yours., and I drove from Conifer (8730 ft) to commerce city every work day, and never got stuck one day! By the way, I drove a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab “ 2 wheel drive”, Minnesota driving experience helped! Studded snow tires and sand weight helped! Also, driving like you have a “Brain In Your Head” really helps! Pushed a lot of snow with my front bumper! “ DRIVE SMART”!
That music was incredibly awful. I had to mute it and use subtitles. I'm surprised the LR didn't catch fire or blow a head gasket. There's a good reason they are dirt cheap.
Should have carried on. You won't get high centered because the air suspension will go into "extended mode" to get you off an obstacle allowing you to back out. Read the manual 👍
Very much how a bit of competence could lead to difficult to attain horrors but I enjoyed it- really crazy thing to do tho’. When they start to slide - it’s a 2ton sledge- and the road camber changes all the time - so whoosh!! Off to greater depths - but shows what can be done if you have to.
Guy's you chickened out. Pretty sure had you have brought Nathan along, you'd have been to the top and back. Don't forget, you have something called super extended mode, if the LR recognizes its bottomed out it will raise the suspension to full height. Usually another 1.5-2" of ground clearance.
Worth investing in a proper snow removal tool and you’ll never feel the need to leave so much snow on the roof again. I know they have them at McGuckins. Probably not much of an issue during winter storms out there because the snow is so dry and gets blown off harmlessly, but all of us east coasters who deal with heavy, wet snow all winter have seen giant slabs come flying off SUVs or 18-wheelers (much scarier) that can do real damage when they blind a following driver or worse. You guys need to set the example for others to follow. You do that in so many respects otherwise, please just add this one to the list.
5000 comments of people crying about the snow left on the roof and my thoughts were similar to yours - that snow was so light and fluffy it would barely cause an issue if it blew off, unlike a giant slab you might see in other parts of the country.
skip to @8:30 to see them drive 20ft up a road for 10 seconds and call it a day..... can still see the lady shoveling snow on her drive ffs, and TFLC like "yeah lets go back down this 'mountain' now"

"there is nothing more scary than driving the wrong vehicle in the snow..." Tell me about it, 1989 Chevy S10, Rear wheel drive, rear ABS only in "Buffalo Snow".
Nothing like some tropical techno in the snow.
Born and raised in Boulder CO and I had to get to work in this rough storm. I unfortunately have a small Mazda. It wasn't much fun. Im definitely that group you were talking about "having the wrong car for the conditions" someday I'll get a more serious CO vehicle. Once I can afford one.
Clean off your dang roof haha
Tell you a little long known secret, my western cousins..
The only thing that stops a land rover, is repairs 🤣
Do you think Toyota is a wee bit more reliable👍🤣
Should have carried on.
You won't get high centered because the air suspension will go into "extended mode" to get you off an obstacle allowing you to back out. Read the manual 👍
Very much how a bit of competence could lead to difficult to attain horrors but I enjoyed it- really crazy thing to do tho’. When they start to slide - it’s a 2ton sledge- and the road camber changes all the time - so whoosh!! Off to greater depths - but shows what can be done if you have to.
Loved the whole thing. Nice to see some videos of just driving and enjoying nature.
Guy's you chickened out. Pretty sure had you have brought Nathan along, you'd have been to the top and back. Don't forget, you have something called super extended mode, if the LR recognizes its bottomed out it will raise the suspension to full height. Usually another 1.5-2" of ground clearance.
Fantastic video, not quite snow tires , but better than summer tires 😎
Here in the UK where I live we didn’t have any snow this winter 😢
I live in Ireland currently,I know the feeling😔
Iuesc iarna..masini si zapda..o combinatie perfecta!!!
I just love winter...cars and snow just the perfect combination !!!!
Always clean the snow off your roof can be very dangerous if their is a thin layer of ice from freezing rain.
Wooow falling deeper and deeper in love with LR3... Unbelievable
Loved the video. Our winter in NJ was horrible. We didn’t get any snow. Maybe next year 😂
I want to see another snow tire comparison video but with more competitors than before. Must include the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2.
The LR did fine! Add chains and you probably could have kept going😀👍❄
skip to @8:30 to see them drive 20ft up a road for 10 seconds and call it a day..... can still see the lady shoveling snow on her drive ffs, and TFLC like "yeah lets go back down this 'mountain' now"
Nice video guys! I love snow videos and one of the best videos with great background music! Please continue with more of these types of content!
Potentially dangerous and illegal (around here) to drive with the snow load on the roof. Gotta clean it off before you drive away. CHEERS!!!
Please, no more music. Thanks for the fun video.
That car could have easily got you to the top in deeper snow.. I drove through a six-foot drift. You just have to know how to drive them.
Enjoy the snow, It's 94 here in Los Angeles today.
Yuck
You really should clean the snow off the top of your car before driving. If you don’t it can fly off at other cars on the road.
Loved the playlist, Tommy. 😎👍
