I attended the Redskins/49ers game in early 1981 Both teams were rebuilding. Nobody would have guessed that we were watching the next two Super Bowl winning teams.
THE craziness thing about this Team was at one time they had the best O line and Defensive lines going at each other in practice during the 1982-3 season
That's my Team that's where my Loyalty paid off since 74 Season. I'd dumped Cindy Brady my first love for the Redskins I learned what Heartbreak was at a Early age.. I was 8 when they lost to Rams in the 74 Playoffs. We had beaten them like 2 weeks before. George Allen was a defensive coach he really wasn't much of a coach he was a.motivator..We should have won more than we did he didn't adjust on Offense..Just run and backup plan.. His old team was the Rams they called the Redskins the Ramskins...This is when my Puppy Love led to Marriage made in Heaven..I retired my Love when they retired their name it ain't the same ....HTTR.
1981 is when Washington finally get to wear their white jerseys on burgundy pants at home full-time. If the Cowboys wear white jerseys at home, so can the Redskins. I hate the color jerseys at home stereotype.
A tale of 2 seasons they were horrible in the first half great in the second half which set up great seasons in 1982 and 1983 ( except for Super Bowl XVIII)
Yes we beat the Raiders earlier by a field Goal and we partied that Super bowl we'd won the year before we were scoring at will we took them with a ego without fear...We looked hungover Murphy's Law we should have beaten them again...Same old game plan those Renegades where ready...Raiders were always a primetime team til mid 80's the game started to passed Al by.
The first half of the 1981 season they were the most awesome team that was 0-6. Never seen a team move the ball up and down the field. You could see that if they had stopped making mistakes there was something there.
The NFC East in the 80s was absolutely ferocious !

SB17 most Valuable Player John Riggins
“I’m bored I’m broke and I’m back”
@@dumisatonyjohnson8145 Yep that's what he said💯
It was ironic that Joe Gibbs was the 4th choice for a new football coach of the organization. Redskins totally lucked into that hire.
Art Monk = Jerry Rice prototype.
