Custom mode - means you can choose elements of the settings - none of them make sense and the menu screen to select your custom settings pops on the display for about 3 seconds so you have not time to select anything. It’s utterly pointless just like the other modes - engine is useless in all modes.

Simon Ingram (from the BBC Pronunciation Unit) British English dictionaries give aytch as the standard pronunciation for the letter H. However, the pronunciation haytch is also attested as a legitimate variant. We also do not ask broadcasters who naturally say haytch to change their pronunciation but if a broadcaster contacted to ask us, we would tell them that aytch is regarded as the standard pronunciation in British English, people can feel very strongly about this and this pronunciation is less likely to attract audience complaints. Haytch is a standard pronunciation in Irish English and is increasingly being used by native English-speaking people all across the country, irrespective of geographical provenance or social standing. Polls have shown that the uptake of haytch by younger native speakers is on the rise. Schoolchildren repeatedly being told not to drop Hs may cause them to hyper-correct and insert them where they don't exist.
B.Su Thank you for taking the time to respond. While your comments are coherent, the probable reason younger people are pronouncing haitch instead of aitch, could be because of the way they have been taught by role models.
Hi buddy We have just ordered the MG HS EXCLUSIVE, but can’t get it until February what I want to know is the one we have ordered is auto, so what are the paddles for on the steering wheel Thanks Paul
Well I guess you are "gobsmacked" and "blown away" (awful descriptivism’s especially when used so often) I would have liked to see how the seats can be configured and a peek under the bonnet; how easy to check fluid levels and stuff? Door openings; can you get in and out in a car park? Will it fit in my garage? How will it perform with passengers on board? Turning circle? Maintenance intervals? Can roof bars be fitted? Under seat stowage? Insurance group? Road tax? How does the sunroof work and does it have a cover panel?
Thank you for your comment. Yes I was gobsmacked and blown away by the HS and having this as a first drive and impression of the car. They were perfect words to use and often. As mentioned in the video I didn’t have the car for too long as it was a launch review so was not able to carry out a full review on the HS.
James 7176 : MG have already got a 3 with a 1.5 turbo, it was shown at the MG Silverstone event in 2016. It was developed by the MG engineers at Longbridge with an output of 200bhp! They also have an automatic which is currently on all MG3’s sold in Australia, even my MG dealer has suggested they bring out an auto, but the Chinese are very reluctant to do so in the U.K. They treat the U.K. as a very niche market, MG’s main market is the Far East and India. There is a new very attractive MG6, again developed at Longbridge with various performance modifications, but again the Chinese will not release it here, it’s only available in China, Thailand and India. My dealer tells me there is a sports car in development which he’s seen at Longbridge, whether that comes to fruition time will tell. MG have a lot going on, but their main development is in SUV’s, that’s where the sales are world wide, which to me is a very bland and boring market, but that bubble will burst!
@@AutoBears 1.5 turbo with android would be a good choice for the ZS also, this is why I have not bought a ZS . However, the HS looks to have the ZS's missing kit.
do wish they kept with the diesel engine out of the 6 other than clutch and flywheel the mpg from it is unreal! come on @mg #mg #saic get the mpg sorted and new new mg6 over here
Wasn’t the Diesel engine a derivative of the Rover L Series engine that was revised at about the time Rover collapsed? I had the L Series in a Rover 45 - decent engine but I’d be a bit suspect if they were still selling that engine now in 2021!
Shame that MG are bringing out great cars like the HS and the ZS EV but can't deliver them at any meaningful volume. With a main stream manufacturer you would be told your car is build week X and that delivery from then would be Y weeks when placing an order. Not so with MG who claim impressive car sales but are these cars really sold? (orders and deposits taken not cars delivered!) It seems that MG wait to see what the next ship brings in, park them all up in a field and then distribute to dealers from the front of that parking lot to the rear hoping that the thousands of orders already taken some how match up what the boat brought in and that the spec/colour combinations they blindly predicted will sell. If you want to compete with the big boys great products are only part of the story MG. Placed an order within the first weeks of release and being told car may be here Feb/March 2020. Not good enough MG, customers should be given better timelines than these. If you can't meet the same excellence as other makes in terms of build time then at least you could allocate cars to customers as they leave the line, not waiting for then to arrive in UK. I have been told that 10 days warning of your car arriving at the dealership is the best you get after waiting months for a delivery date. I'm likely to withdraw my order soon as no news is not good news.

Hows the car going for you?
@@debimcnally339 i have a couple videos have a watch, as an owner, I love the car
So, it isn't 3 seat rows car? But well, we waiting you, MG HS, here in Indonesia
Thank you for your comment. No the HS is just 5 seats.
how much is in UK? cheaper than China?
Mg is available in Vietnam too
Yes it is
Modes: sport mode - understand, super sport - understand, eco - understand, normal - understand but what’s individual mode?
Thank you for the comment Eric. Individual mode is when you tailor various aspects of the drive of the car. Steering, Suspension, engine response to how you want it. Picking sportiness or economy for what you are after.
Custom mode - means you can choose elements of the settings - none of them make sense and the menu screen to select your custom settings pops on the display for about 3 seconds so you have not time to select anything. It’s utterly pointless just like the other modes - engine is useless in all modes.
yep 'dead cat' for mic should be top of Xmas list.
Thanks for your comment. Afraid as it was filmed on the phone it wouldn’t help too much. But I have put a couple of fun items at the top of the list.
@@AutoBears great review non the less...I recommend the Rode Wireless Go radio mic...it is tiny...has great range...the receiver can attach to your phone with a piec of tape aswell as being able to be used on any other cam like the osmo action I use and comes with a very effective windproof dead cat on the mic/transmitter...loads of reviews on line inc on my channel and only £149 on amazon....keep up the good reviews thumbs up given :)
Tom's Man Shed thank you for the recommendation. I usually use a ride for my main reviews. As this was a launch there are constraints attached.
Great review.
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the review.
Incredible price.
I know MG (now) is available in UK and Netherlands.
A good review but you mention that the auto can be slow to change down when I can see paddle shifters behind the steering wheel on this model. Flick and Go
Thank you for your comment. Yes there are paddle shifters on the steering wheel but didn’t use them as I could not see a manual setting on the gear selector.
Auto Bears if there is no manual setting the paddles just work when you want them to changing up or down as I use this function in my 3008 auto with out using the manual setting
Very very beautiful car, with fantastic interior for 20.000 Euro (circa) base price. I hope MG come also in Italy!
It is a lovely looking car. If enough people ask MG to do so they may bring them to Italy.
I know ive just binned off the fiat 500l for one of these ,so much more equipment and cheaper price.
I know ive just binned off the fiat 500l for one of these ,so much more equipment and cheaper price.
Looks a great car, and an excellent first review. Even if you do pronounce H as 'haytch' I enjoyed watching!
Thank you for the comment.
I can only apologise for my Somerset twang in pronouncing the Haytch. Glad you enjoyed the review.
Not your Somerset twang! 'H' is actually spelt and pronounced 'aitch'.But many people say 'haitch'. Great review.
No mention of economy??!
Thank you for the comment. Sorry I didn’t mention it on the video as it was not out at the time.
Combined on manual 37.2 mpg
DCT - 36.2 mpg
Which is 15kmpl?
kasunmaddy around 13 km/l
When does the hs launch in the uk
Thanks for the comment. I believe cars will be in showrooms in November with deliveries in January.
Hi buddy
We have just ordered the MG HS EXCLUSIVE, but can’t get it until February what I want to know is the one we have ordered is auto, so what are the paddles for on the steering wheel
Thanks
Paul
You can change up or down when in supersport mode. Mine is due in feb too :)
Well I guess you are "gobsmacked" and "blown away" (awful descriptivism’s especially when used so often)
I would have liked to see how the seats can be configured and a peek under the bonnet; how easy to check fluid levels and stuff?
I’m ordering mine tomorrow 😎
That’s great news! I am sure you will enjoy your HS. Hope my video helped cement your decision.
hey can you also do a review of kia seltos pleas e
Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately the Seltos is not available in the UK so won’t be able to review it. Sorry.
no one ever mentions putting a wheelchair in the boot?
If they was to come out with an MG3 using that 1.5 Turbo and add android auto that would be great
That would be a very rapid little hatchback.
Probably quite affordable too
James 7176 : MG have already got a 3 with a 1.5 turbo, it was shown at the MG Silverstone event in 2016.
However, the HS looks to have the ZS's missing kit.
do wish they kept with the diesel engine out of the 6 other than clutch and flywheel the mpg from it is unreal! come on @mg #mg #saic get the mpg sorted and new new mg6 over here
Thank you for your comment George. As time go on and MG develop they will get more frugal engines again.
Wasn’t the Diesel engine a derivative of the Rover L Series engine that was revised at about the time Rover collapsed? I had the L Series in a Rover 45 - decent engine but I’d be a bit suspect if they were still selling that engine now in 2021!
A beautiful car
Oh yes! Very handsome car
Agree Jhonny when it comes to value for money cars they nailed it.
The back end reminds me of a BMW X1 lol
It does a little bit. But which do you think looks better?
If we go to war with China, how would that affect the parts for MG cars?
Unfortunately it will increase the delivery time on your parts. Plus they may have bullet holes in them.
HS nice car.
Yes it is.
nice
Thank you very much for the comment.
Collect my HS Exclusive auto at the beginning of Sept off the back of this video - thanks
WOW 😀
Thank you for the comment. It is a lot of car for the money.
Cant wait for the mg hs to come to new zealand.
Thank you for the comment. Hope my video has wetted your appetite for the HS.

What a nice Chinese car
Yes it is.

If this was hybrid or phev the I would be getting shut if my rav4 hybrid
Hybrid version due soon
Very true.
I love this car MG need put a shit load off adverts on T.V and let everyone know
Aye and let people know about the software problems on the auto's leaving the car undrivable
@@garyconnolly7889 then don't get an auto
@@leestones9620 The entire car is crap - auto aside, the software in this car is diabolical. Fault after fault after fault - check out the forums, riddle with disgruntled owners increasingly drowned out by a few militant MG fanatics who won't have a bad word said. you're saving nothing buying one of these - the value plummets so fast you may as well just burn your money.
@@MarthaMansbridge thanks for the advise my missus was thinking off buying one in the near future
@@leestones9620 Please don't. We can hardly give our away and it's only 8 months old - lost £10k in value, 0% interest seemed attractive, now we know why. We've basically burned £300 a month and lost a further £10k in value - we could've rented a Range Rover for less money.
Has anyone towed a caravan with one
The back looks a bit like a Bmw x3...
Hi Magnum. It does a bit. But it’s still a handsome car
You Liked this movie, if so you Like it
Thank you. Yes we all liked it.
Why does the presenter look like a darts player🤣
Frankie goestohwood which is weird as I don’t play darts?! 🤷🏻♂️But I do look like a gorgeous bear! 😉
