Just from listening to you and can tell that you were raised right. Thats what is wrong with the world today. I was raised on a farm in Louisiana with the closest town really small. I don't know the last time I heard a young woman or man say thank you, yes sir, yes ma'am. Great Channel and great to see.
I didn't grow up on a farm BUT we used to visit farm parks & some of the places we holidayed at used to keep chickens, bees AND a kitchen garden. Apart from the bees we were aloud to havest everything else
Thank you for your kind comment. I notice when I travel around the country that cities are expanding into farmland areas. This is very sad to me because I feel a deep connection with my heritage and I am passionate to tell the story of farmers. I want farmers to prosper.
Makes me sad as well. There were about 60 dairy farms and 1000 people in our community in the 1950 s today there are 6 dairy’s farms and about 20000 people. Bare farmland sells for about 115000 $ an acre and most of the young people want the money not the work.....
The whole state of Montana has just a little over 1 million in population so we don’t see farm ground prices increase substantially by the city in the area we farm. Dry land acres run around $1,500 an acre and it takes a lot of acres to make a living off of your farm because the yields aren’t as high as other parts of the country.
Love you running that green equipment. Worked for JD for 40 years and thank you for your kind words about the equipment. You make a great company what it is. Tell your dad thank you as well. Love your video's. Keep it up.
Hi again Kate. Watching you run the combine again. Never get tired of watching a beautiful young lady running what ever. Combine, tractor, big truck. You can do it all. And you are such a pleasure to watch. And I love the way you explain what you are doing. Keep up the video,s, ok.
"Although sometimes they don't pay attention and that is a little upsetting." LOL that was funny. Kate is such a delight. If I was dumb enough to get Kate upset at me. I would run for the hills! LOL
Hey Kate! Greetings from Dawson County, Montana! I've just discovered youir channel and like what I saw and heard. You seem to take a different view on how things work on a farm and point out some things people might not be aware of. Stopping for a baby bird while you're in the heat of the harvest season is down-right inspirational. I used to have a wheat farm here in Dawson County and so I understand what you are saying. Thank you for enlightening everyone about where the ingredients come from for breads and pasta. Good luck with your harvest, take care and be safe Kate.
Wow, I really can't believe what I just watched ! As a women born in the 50's women having a career like this was absolutely unheard of, especially at this young of age !! Kate, your knowledge, skill level, problem solving skills, ability to observe, ability to communicate , teach and joy for what you are doing just makes me smile! Incredible !!
My sister who was born in the late 30s could do all of this. So, I do not agree with your comment that women were not allowed to this sort of work. My sister drove the combine and all other farm equipment. Us boys did not start doing the same work until we turned 9. Today, they keep kids as kids until they are 40 years old. That is the problem with our society today.
I'm new here I just discovered this channel yesterday and started watching the videos here I have to agree with you 100% this young lady she's going to become big on RUclips just need to get her a big shout out.
You are an amazing young lady I enjoy farming and ranching vlogs. It is so great to see the younger generation actually wanting to be involved in the family business. I am certain that you are aware that there will be ups and downs but sticking it out and the overall satisfaction you will feel can not be found anywhere else. PS the bag is amazing as you said it would be. Good bless you and your family!
Ma'am, I must tip my cap to you! I'm so impressed with your knowledge, enthusiasm, respect for your land and heritage, and your passion for your fashion. I'm an Alabama farmer, so your crops, terrain, weather, etc. are totally different than mine, but that makes it fun! You keep being you! I'll sub and look forward to following along!
Thank you so much for your very kind words. I would like to visit Alabama and see the crops and terrain some day. I think it would be really fascinating. I really appreciate your encouragement.
Kate based on the things you said about not listening to music and then listening to the machine I decided I would allow you to operate my 1976 year model John Deere 3300 combine. Really enjoyed this video thanks for taking the time to make it a share it with us.
Moisture is key to life, it's really been crazy this year!!! Some places I've dug basements and footers have been flooded and 20 miles away dry as a bone... Kate you are such an inspiration, thanks so much for sharing your story with us!!💯🙏
luv your channel Kate ❤, such enthusiasm and intelligent contemplation your dad must be so proud to have someone like you helping out with the harvest!!! best wishes from California!!!
You do a very good job and I enjoy watching I see you when you were driving the tractor trailer and you did a good job there I was an over the road truck driver for about 50 years so I’ve had a lot of tractor trailer experience so anyway good luck to you talk with you later God bless
Whoa!!!! How switched on is this young lady?! Grandpa certainly delivered on the education and Mom & Dad provided the upbringing. Classy intro music - now subscribed.

You are doing a good job explaining what your combine is doing. Your young viewers and some of the older ones are being shown that their bread does not ultimately come from the grocery store. Gov. Cumo of NY is being shown that there is a little more to it than dig a hole, throw in a seed and cover it up.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I agree it takes a lot of work to get the seed in the ground and then harvest it. There are all kinds of things that can happen in between like hail, not enough rain, bugs etcetera. It is quite a process to get the grain into bread.
I thought the food came from Walmart....LOL I have been around farming most of my life. We had some farming as we raised feed products for feeding our cattle. I am now 66 and retired and is so special to see young folks out working the farms with all the brand new equipment. We had used in the begining and no cabs on the the tractors. Hi Kate, I currently am an 55 yr old IT specialist from the Netherlands, but grew up and worked on a dairy farm with Frisian (black and white) cows until I was about 25. I recognize your enthousiasm for your farm as it is a great part of who and what you are. Amazing how easy you talk through a 45 min. vlog 🤣 Love your perspective on agriculture, very enlightening. Should be madatory for students to watch and learn that food (usually) does not grow in refridgerators and supermarkets. Just stumled upon your channel after viewing the Millennial Farm. I am going to watch all your streams! Do you work on the farm fulltime, or do you also have school obligations? Already envy your future husband 💑
Great video's Kate, did you and your 9610 combine grow up togethers. That's why you work togethers so well. Hope to see your family farm soon. Keep up the good work.
Yes my 9610 and I grew up together. I absolutely love it. It has been a great combine for me. It always works. Even when the wheel falls off you can just give it more power and keep going to get the job done. 😂 I'll have to make a video about that. Thank you so much for the nice comment.
Bobtail is what I call the three trucks. Semis are normally 18 wheelers. Depending on your laws in Montana you may have 3 axles on the trailer and possibility 3 drive axels on your tractor (semi Tractor). I am from Oklahoma so our bridge laws are a little different maybe. I really like Farmgirls getting in to Fashion and even Furniture refurbishment business. Your dad really raised you right and smart too!
I think it is AWESOME that you don’t listen to load music and listen to the sounds of the machinery. Lots of time a unique noise will give you advance warning of a potential problem so that a repair can take place before excessive damage is done.
@@KatesAg As technology advanced and we got a newer combine it was too quiet. I am a weather observer and storm spotter so I keep track of the weather. I have been in Havere and remember a storm or two. I think the average is about 12 inches of rain per year. In the Mid Mo valley we average 28 t0 30 inches ,and many peopie irrigate. I think you are making a difference. You perform a valuable service. Please record your grand father's story.

Thank you for the information and your kind words. I really appreciate them.
I think it is AWESOME that you don’t listen to load music and listen to the sounds of the machinery. Lots of time a unique noise will give you advance warning of a potential problem so that a repair can take place before excessive damage is done.
Thank you so much!!! I agree and both my mom and dad agree too! If the music is really loud you can't hear when things go wrong.
