      That what most ppl fail doing when visiting other places more so other countries. It is the exploring of its hidden gems, its ppl and their culture. That is what travelling is all about. Not visiting well documented tourist trap or shopping excursions.

    • @DjemoGraphic
      @DjemoGraphic  4 года назад +2

      @@buj1387 I agree. Not every place must be a shopping destinations. For this you have the mega cities already. In fact traveling for shopping to save money might be a trap. The flight and hotel costs and possible customs might make your shopping trip more expensive than if you buy the same goods at home :D

      Sonong tangadau. You are right: Brunei is really clean. I can highly recommend to visit the Ulu Ulu Temburong National Park. The culture of Brunei is probably similar to the one of the Malays of Malaysia: But the royal culture with all its ceremonies is more prevalent in Brunei. In terms of religion: Brunei is very observant, families have many gatherings for prayers; I have been invited twice to friends houses and was allowed to watch them.

      From Miri, after reach the border at Sungai Tujoh Immigration, you will arrive the first district of Brunei, Kuala Belait. After that Tutong and Brunei-Muara.
      Some advice from my friend, they told me to take direct flight from KLIA to Bandar Seri Begawan. but i rather to choose transit to Miri, Sarawak. Take public transport via bus to enter Bandar Seri Begawan. Depart from Terminal Bas Pujut. Price ticket also cheaper around B$20 for one way.

    As a Bruneian my whole life, I can say that Brunei is fun for people who are really interested in forests, but to be honest, it's really boring. We are a small nation, that means we have limited land, meaning that we have little attractions. For me, it's so boring, I'm actually planning to move out the small kingdom, as I see little to no opportunity here for me and because I have no sense of belonging and patriotism to this nation. For tourists, I can say with some honesty that you will have some fun. If you plan to live here, then I suggest that you reconsider. There might be a small gem her in this nation, but I want to spend my life seeing and finding bigger gems, like those in Japan, Korea, America or anywhere. My comment is not to be taken seriously, as it is just my opinion. Thank you for taking the time to read a comment that came from a Bruneian.

    • @walkingthroughthenight9443
      @walkingthroughthenight9443 2 года назад

      I'm also bruneian and I agree with your opinions regarding this country. There really isn't much opportunity here especially when it comes to entertainment like art, music and etc. I'm actually very curious and keen to learn about our culture but it's really not an easy thing to do since most of our culture or history approximately during 14th-17th century were not properly preserve or not preserved at all.
      However, I must admit that I am kind of proud now to see people trying to change that. I've seen locals trying to make a film, music ,businesses and etc. Even though, we're moving slowly I still appericiate the effort.

      Even if they work in the private sector, most youth would just quit when the demand of work is increase. They expect high salary and low job scope.

      Hi. Yeah, the footage I used was from 2 years ago, thus I did not take much about food. But what I can recommend is to try "Ambuyat". It's a speciality from Brunei and Sabah Malaysia. It's made of sago flour and you dip it into a special kind of sambal (chili paste) that I found tasted a little bit fermented. It was very nice. Near the Jerudong Park is a very large food court, where you can eat local and international delicacies. One of my local friends explained me that Bruneians often eat at home, thus, the street food culture is not as important as you may know it from other countries.

    My impressions of Brunei and the Capital BSB, is that it is both boring, pristine and beautiful. I too struggled with the Sharia law and some elements of what appeared to be a very patriarchal society. None the less I met a very lovely intelligent lady, a HJH (I hope I got that right) Siah Ahmat, who was very welcoming in to her extended family who mostly resided in the oil town of Kuala Belait. I struggled a bit with the opulent life style and was extremely envious of the 50c per litre gasoline when we were paying $1.50+ per litre in the west. The Islamic religion and all its rituals were a bit daunting to a lapsed Christian, yet the modern and bejewelled dress sense of the ladies was a far cry from the drab burkah styles in the middle eastern arabic countries. All up Brunei is a lovely tropical jungle oasis on the main SE-Asian Borneo Island, and a must see for all types of travellers.

However, if a person is looking for shopping and nightlife, the shopping is nothing to shout about and since it is a Muslim country alcohol is not permitted. However, any person can easily cross over to Limbang, a border town of Malaysia towards the East of Brunei for nightlife activities. Alternatively, cross into Miri, a border town of Malaysia besides the West of Brunei. Enjoy 👍😊

      @Dani Sta As a Bruneian myself, im actually not surprised that people would say that. It's just that they are so clueless of where to go and what to do here. Which I couldn't quite blame them, especially if they came here on friday instead of the weekend. I just hope that Brunei has more to offer to change their minds.

      APEX BerZerKer I have never been there but to me it seems to be an interesting place but it all depends on the person. If someone is looking some crazy party life maybe it’s not a right place but if someone is looking to visit some beautiful places it can be the place. We find (or don’t) this what we are looking for. Sometimes we can be really surprised. Good to have Djemo opening for us some doors...

U know bro when many people talked badly about your country (esp during that period when u made ur review the environment was toxic), when watching your review, i was touched that you kept insisting Brunei was not Boring. It really helped emotionally. That was what I really needed the most during that period, a positive reinforcement.
