I just upgraded from the 2016 Macbook Pro 16" to the M3 Macbook Pro 14"....... with all my Gopro editing I'm in love. My old Mac just one day didn't want to charge. after seven years. It was time to lay it to rest. The 14" and its convenience to carry is a huge game changer. I'm constantly doing online courses. When I have free time I'll tap into some WiFi and get to work.
Apple charges so much for RAM it actually drove me away from it. I'm a software developer and my previous M1 with 16gb RAM was becoming such a pain to use for work. What I wanted to upgrade to was the M3 with at least 48GB of RAM for future proof, but they force you to go with the Max to get this amount of RAM at a whopping $3500. So I opted for the System76 Lemur Pro instead, with 56gb of RAM at "only" $2000. Sure the intel CPU is less efficient and weaker, but at least I get to use Linux, which I also happen to like a lot more than MacOS, and with x86 we still have way less hops to deal with docker than arm (although arm has been closing the gap on that pretty quickly). Overall I'm liking the machine quite a lot, the matte screen is also of pretty good quality and no distractions with reflections, the only two things that really are far behind Macs are the battery life and heat, but eh I can live with that, at least I can get a laptop with plenty of RAM for a reasonable price. Honestly, if you’re going to spend the extra money to get an M3 Pro MacBook Pro over an M3 MacBook Pro then you might as well get the one with the unbinded chip and 1TB of storage. That way it will have tons of processing power and storage. Furthermore, since that specific variant is also a stock configuration it won’t even take longer to ship or pick up in store.
A lot of people slated it for the reduced bandwidth on RAM but you've got to look at the thing as a whole and if you compare it with what was on offer 3 or 4 years ago, you are basically getting something that would have cost around 3000 to 4000 before for around 1500.
Just picked up a Space Black M3 Pro MacBook Pro 14. I think the 14” M3 Pro MacBook Pro is the best bang for buck. Space Black is a killer color. I think any upgrade to the M3 makes it a bad proposition against the M3 Pro model since you still miss out on the more powerful processor, more powerful GPU, extra TB port, Space Black, extra monitor support.
After M4 release, the performance is basically identical with M3Pro, so that means in the upcoming few month we can see the macbook pro will have 20-50% depreciation value in 2nd hand market for the previous model.

@@master13fox Hi dude, What has your experience been with using 16-inch MacBook Pro m3 in Space Black? I love it 👌I’m specifically asking about the durability of the finish or any signs of fading around the left-side ports and the MagSafe area.!!! 🙏🤔
Bro I just want to know if this machine is capable of doing prolonged hours of work in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc. There isn't a better person to ask this other than someone who used it for the past 6 months!
On resolve, do you edit on an SSD? If so, see if there's a correlation to the lag spikes when editing onboard vs on an SSD. This has nothing to do with the speed of the SSD, but more on how resolve links the media from the SSD compared to how adobe does it. IDK the details but as someone who switched from adobe to resolve completely, this is something that i deal with a lot. another issue i find is the way resolve handle's playback when using a bluetooth headphone, i.e. airpods, compared to a lined headphone/ built in speakers. I find the bluetooth also causes lag spikes. with these minor frustrations, ive been binging videos on m3pro chipset, specifically on video editing, seeing if i can make a purchase. thanks for the video!
I bought the M3, 16" MBP. It's a great machine but the unified ram has really screwed me over. The fantastic advancements in AI, mean there are some truly great Open Source models which can be run locally. The trouble is, they require a lot of RAM so the 18GB that comes with my M3, is simply not enough to run the high end LLM's. Given the promise of this tech, I'd highly recommend either picking up an M1/M2 MBP with vastly more RAM, or even better, opting for a MacBook Air so you're working on a nice pice of kit, then buying an annual subscription to one of those remote desktop type websites, where you basically dial in to a super powerful machine.
I am interested in watching movies and browsing. Is there a difference between Air and Pro in this matter, even though I am obsessed with the resolution of the video and screen?
i started hearing some squeaks as I held onto the bottom panel where the MacBook Pro logo is. It's flat, so I don't believe the battery's expanding. My older silve MBP makes no sound when holding. I wonder if the black models have a different composite material. Any thoughts?

Same feeling, I’m coming from a 2012 MacBook Pro and it has lasted almost a decade. So I’m looking for the same longevity and this MacBook should be a huge upgrade.

@@cannancool its not coated lol the metal itself is black so I don't see my scatches
@@matthewkern5931 it's painted Bro. I checked in apple website
Any discolor at all happening for you where palms rest?
no
@@ColeCaccamisesorry for this question as well, do you find your keyboard touches your display when the lid is closed? I just got the same model as you and for some reason am paranoid that the screen rests on the keyboard when closed after seeing online posts about it.
I'm kind of scared to buy this laptop. bought the M1 MacBook Pro when it first came out, but after a year and a half, I started experiencing hardware and software issues. The touch bar and a USB port stopped working, followed by the trackpad and keyboard a year later. These products enable so much productivity but I have yet to own an Apple device (except for the Apple TV) that lasts more than a year and a half without planned obsolescence kicking in.
Im in between getting this model or a certified refurbished m2 pro with 32gb ram. Both the same price
I got a MacBook pro now I don't know its email and password so how do I unlock it now. Please give some suggestions
I'm torn between 16 vs 14. Same use than you.
Nice video! I just ordered my 15in air 16/512 and waiting for it to arrive! This will be my 4th Mac :). I went with starlight… I really love the black, but the finger prints would drive me nuts. I know it’s not THAT bad… but it’s bad enough to bother me lol
could u give us link to download your wallpaper?
I bought the M3 MacBook Air 16/512 config over the M3 Pro MacBook Pro because the Air is on sale at Best Buy for only $1,350 brand new!!
That's a great deal
@@ColeCaccamise I really wanted the 14" since amazon had it on sale for $1,799 but saving $450 with going for the M3 16/512 seem to be the better deal.
Any paint wear?
Should I get a MacBook Pro 16 inch or Alienware x16 r2?
do you like gaming?
gaming laptops are not worth your money. Get the MacBook - it'll be something you can use into the future without being too bulky or tacky, once you inevitably don't game as much as you used to.
Get a MacBook and if you really want to game. Build a budget gaming PC or buy a console.
Best Buy is selling this exact computer for 500 bucks off. I just picked one up $1500.
Same, it’s awesome
Same here
I was about to but now it's again at $1999
in love with your MBP wallpaper

How much do you think is good for photo editing?
M1 is plenty for Lightroom
Please reply me asap 👇🏻
Hi brother please suggest me this thing- i'm a full time designer and complex video editor in future I will use this laptop for after effects works. The video clips I use for editing those are 4k 60FPS h.264/HEVE
Currently I'm using Intel windows laptop Now I want to buy 14inch MacBook m3 pro with 11core CPU, 14Core GPU 18GB memory, 512GB SSD now can you please suggest me should I buy this laptop for next 5 years?
Advance thanks 🙏🏻
idk if adobe apps work well with mac os, if yes then itll be great
most video and audio editors use macbook true, but whether they using after effects i have no clue
is the display much of a upgrade over the air?
yes! alone the 120hz are a different world from the 60hz
major.. just went from m1 air to m3 pro base model. The screen is miles better - much higher resolution too.
Just go and see for yourself. To me, it's really the 120hz making the difference as opposed to the mini LED screen.
@@BOTAimBotz agree with this, you get a performance boost, more ram, more ports and a better screen for everyday use.
What's the keyboard is that?
Where did you get the porsche model from?
try working in pro res not in h264, h264 the computer needs to decode do whatever you are doing in resolve and playback, in prores there is no decoding while workiing.....
Nice review. I am making a major upgrade from a Mac Core i5 and a MacBook Air Core i7 8GB RAM to the m3pro 512GB and 18.x GB RAM. I don't know if their upgradeable. I did tear apart my macbook air and put a new SSD in it, I hope they didn't solder the SSD to the motherboard, I'll refuse the package pending your response!
i'm pretty sure they've made the ssds impossible to replace for years
buy an external storage no need for the larger internal storage with the thunderbolt 4 ports.
I think for most users, especially new MacBook owners(like myself),this video would serve as acutely critical.
I'd liked the video if I was switching from M1 pro or something similar, BUT I'm not!!
So, the context provided had niche audience, basically heavy consistent users like youself.
Otherwise, great content bro!
LOL
This whispering up talk, my god bro just talk like a normal human bean.
Six months is not long term. I got the m1 when they came out and it’s taken this long to get neovim configured
Does it run Davinci good enough?
its fine but does lag a fair bit. I will probably sell this off and go for a 36GB M4 Max when it launches.
Is an arc browser app for iPad ?
What do you think better 16 with 512 or 14 With 1tb
Depends on your use case. Id take 14 1TB
I am really in confusion, because my last laptop was 16 inch and heavier than the MacBook 16😂, the point of SSD put me in hard decision because I want laptop everlast for about 7 to 8 years without any problem, and I saw editors said that the 512 is pretty enough put I think that you will have more knowledge in that point if I can stick with 512 with external 1 tb ssd, by knowledge that i will use it for programming and editing only and I came from 2 tb laptop and I don't use half of them and I have no external monitor.
Should I get black
Or silver?
Same thing just the color difference
yo, what's your VS code theme?

Guys please help me choose between 13” MBA M3 16 GB / 512 GB and 14” MBP M3 Pro 18 GB / 512 GB
I just pick up a new m2 air basic model for $849 . Should I have went with the m3 for $999 instead?
no you won't really notice a difference, I would upgrade the ram if you want to spend the extra money
Depends on what you do really. M2 air is a great laptop too and is highly capable of doing everything the M3 can.
But airs doesn't have fans? will it overheat if so???
As someone who works in film and music I’m coming from a 2015 MacBook intel should I save some money and get the m2pro or go with the m3
M2pro it’s going to be better against M3 because of the amount of cores you get
Between a M2pro and M3pro the difference won’t be as big.
I am in the second year of university studying computer science and engineering. I am going to start specialization in AI and Machine Learning from the third year. I am confused between a M3 Pro 14in MacBook Pro with (11C CPU and 12C GPU) OR with M2 Pro to purchase. Which one would you suggest? Thanks!
Idk which one
But whatever u decide on
Keep me updated
Now take what I say with a grain of salt because I’m not an expert but I’ve heard that for AI training (if you have a ton of money to “throw away”) you should aim on getting as much ram as possible. Again, take it with a grain of salt, you should research into Ai+macbook more though
What app are you using to test ssd drive speed?
blackmagic disk speed test

A curious question: Are there people over eighty years of age who are very elderly people who own modern smart phones??.
it has respectable sound, m3 mini i must say, very impressive considering tight space for audio
use smth like sennheiser ie600, youll get best phone experience
Get a NAS, this SSD setup is gonna be a true pain in the ass the longer you stick with it.
i want to get one but tbh i've used an ssd for years now and its fine
Did i understand right? If i choose a config with less Storage / RAM , i get less Performance Cores?
seem like it is
yeah the more ram the better
I need that wallpaper

The only people that care about write speeds to that extent are creative professionals. No one else cares.
yes, should have made that clear.
bro we all gotta group up and do something about the SOLDERED SSDs on apple products. It's an abomination. the SSD is like Tires or Transmission on a car. You should be able to change it. If your SSD dies you can't even boot of an external drive... it's basically bricked if your SSD dies..Do you realize? Do you actually realize?

You sound like JerryRigEverything
Please stop talking with that cadence. I really wanted to finish this videoooooooo, but I could only make it half waaaaaaaay.
Why do all these tech reviewers literally sound the same with that same annoying over accentuated endings on how they say certain things? ya'll so corny lol
i find that astells pa10 abit underwhelming, which is a shame since amping on that budget is pretty much needed

thanks man haha I bought a new pop filter so hopefullyyy that fixes it
sad truth, you had no patience to wait for m4.....but why???? for same money you could of got m4!
none
cute
Honestly, if you’re going to spend the extra money to get an M3 Pro MacBook Pro over an M3 MacBook Pro then you might as well get the one with the unbinded chip and 1TB of storage. That way it will have tons of processing power and storage. Furthermore, since that specific variant is also a stock configuration it won’t even take longer to ship or pick up in store.
I am debating on Macbook Pro with M3 chip (8-core CPU
10-core GPU
16GB Unified Memory
1TB SSD Storage¹)
and
Macbook Pro with M3 pro chip (11-core CPU
14-core GPU
18GB Unified Memory
512GB SSD Storage¹) .
I will use the laptop for video editing for client works and content editing for myself on Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects. Which one should I choose? Should I go with the higher ram and the pro chip? Or will it give me a headache to move files all the time due to 512ssd?
