    DISCLAIMER: I have been overwhelmingly getting positive feedback about these lessons (which is awesome and very much appreciated) but I had 3 or 4 guys, who apparently have zero tact, complain that I was talking too much at the beginning. I could rant about how annoying that is to me but it’s a waste of time. I did this for fun, for free, with little planning. I do talk a lot for the first 3 minutes, so if you want to skip that it’s very easy to do. If that is not something that you can handle then perhaps keep browsing the thousands of free guitar videos and find one that works for your attention span and brain.
    Peace 🎸🤘🏼

      Hey man, I’m glad you’re digging it! I have been getting some good feedback. While Slash is super popular and many great players show licks and his style, you’re right in that it is a challenge to find people who know the style and explain / demonstrate it well and clear.
      But yea man, it’s kind of cool to do so I’m planning on doing more. In the future I think I’ll do something on slash style repeating licks, transitions from boxes, and maybe a little major pentatonic mixing. That’s what I’m thinking. 👍🏼🎸

    These videos are great man ,very easy to follow ,I’m a big fan of Laszlo , Jakob, G Sharp & Niko & you do a great job of breaking down their style .ive been thinking of getting a couple of Jacob’s lessons when he has his sale on again . Thanks so much for doing this it really is helpful

    • @slashtrio
      @slashtrio  4 месяца назад +1

      Awesome man, I’m glad you’re finding it helpful. I like all those guys too and aspire to be that good, but still have a ways to go, but I’m enjoying the journey. I’m a partial to Gsharp but all those guys are great. And yea, I’d recommend Jakob’s videos, I have several. I definitely learned some from him but I think his teaching style is a bit more difficult to follow, goes a bit fast or adds variation too quickly. But that said it’s definitely worth it, especially being a big slash fan, he’s obviously a monster player. I’d also highly recommend Brett Papa’s course on mixing major and minor pentatonic. It’s the best course I have ever had. It’s not exactly slash but it’s definitely slash adjacent! His style to me is like a combo is slash, EVH, Hendrix, and SRV. But his teaching style and production is top notch. That clip I posted is like one of 30 or more lick breakdowns.
      And yea, that LP of mine is a 50s standard “CME spec” in dirty lemon. It has a curly wavy flame and definitely Lois kind of like slash’s derrig guitar. As a kid watching live at the ritz I was obsessed with that guitar. Now I have a few LPs! It’s an addiction 🎸🤤

    3rd video today. Been watching you today since 2pm. Is now 9pm. Practiced like 4 hours today. Not a single lick was done right but I’m trying! When shown slowly like in part 1-2 I got sooo many little tricks, feels and movement that it opened a whole new world to me. Some parts I can’t figure it out like the stacking and everything that happens from the 3rd string to 6th is hazy. Not sure why. Hope you could help us by deconstructing what happens from the 3rd string on. Thanks for this man 🤘🏻

    • @slashtrio
      @slashtrio  5 месяцев назад

      Dude, that’s awesome 👏🏼 😎🎸👍🏼. I’m super honored that you find this helpful, definitely makes me feel good to be able to help anyone on their guitar journey, I’m definitely still in the journey myself. I just joined Robert Baker’s website(RUclips player) in hopes of pushing myself to the next level. But yea man, glad you’re getting something out of this. I’ll keep doing more vids and continue to be as clear as I can be. It’s tricky because I am not trained formally so describing some of this stuff is tricky and something I’m still getting used to. But sounds like you’re doing the right thing and picking up parts and pieces and adding new licks, techniques, and phrases, all things that will help you continue to grow and progress.
      The stacking thing is key. I’ll try to find a Brett Papa video where he describes it better. It’s a great way of transitioning from string to string web doing runs and legato type stuff. I’ll post more soon. I’m gonna do another on legato and going up and down the scale. Rock on man and stay in touch 🎸👍🏼🤘🏼

    • @slashtrio
      @slashtrio  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hey man, yea I still have and love the Kemper. That is what I am using in these vids but obviously recorded with phone audio and the cab is in the background. I got the Kemper Powered Kab and it's awesome! It definitely gets the "amp in the room vibe" and also sounds good cranked up a bit. I usually play at lower volume but yesterday I was home alone and cranked it and it sounded the great! So I use the Kab 80% of the time now but still play it through the THR10 too because it sounds so great at low volume and for playing along with tracks. I also use headphones which I like, but I like that the least. My favorite Slash profiles are those made by Eddy Lenz. His slash pack was like 20 or 30 bucks. The # 36 is my go to, although it depends on which LP I use since I have one with lower output pups. But yea, I love the kemper and the Kab, no regrets. I got the powered kab used off guitar center. Tone JUnkie makes a new Slash pack too that sounds awesome on their demo but I have not been able to get it to work yet. Still learning tech stuff with the kemper. Thanks!

      @@andreascevaroli92 hey, thanks for the kind words. Definitely ways to get a slash type sound at lower volume. Much of the time I ply at very low “bedroom volume”, no. Louder than the TV or anything. I have kids so I can’t rock the house, and I usually play then they are asleep. The original 1st edition of the Yamaha THR10 is one of the best amps for Marshall type tones at very low volumes. I would definitely recommend that and it won’t break the bank. Things like kemper and quad cortex are all pretty amazing at any volume but are definitely an investment. I got my kemper used and was able to use 0% financing through Sweetwater. I think even a boss katana can get a pretty good sound for this type of thing.
      Thanks again! 🎸👍🏼
