    Had a Truma Aventa Comfort Air-conditioner fitted to our Adria Adora Sava 623. It is a game changer and makes the van so comfortable keeping the temperature at the set level and also dehumidifying the air for that cool dry alpine fresh feel. It is very quiet at night in ‘night-mode’. It is controlled either via the Alde Panel or the supplied Remote. It will also supply heat. Top tip - in very hot and humid conditions it is best to run the fan at MED or HIGH.

    Just had a Truma Comfort fitted with our new caravan. A must as far as I am concerned. Useful video. Looking at other comments I was told it runs about 3.8 amps so a 10 amp hook up upwards will allow it to run plus ability to still use other appliances.

    I bought a motorhome with this and am in the process of removing it. We don't like staying at camp sites, and as you need mains to run the air con I doubt that we would ever use it. In Germany last year it was about 40 degrees, we were on a camp site and all I did was to go fully clothed into the camp site shower on cold, soaked myself and came out and steamed. That made me cool off and didn't cost £1700! As you have to be on a camp site to use air con, it follows that you can have a cold shower. The weight is a problem on my motorhome which is very close to its maximum and I would rather carry 25litres more water which I will use rather than 25kg of air con which will be used one week per year. Having said that, Mrs is ranting at me to keep it!

    In Australia I don't think you can get a caravan or motorhome without AC. I'm sure there are times in Europe when you wouldn't want to be without one.

    Hi I have the comfort. Do you find it can vibrate at times? I think it could be down to the grp in and out as in theres no soft wallboard on baileys to dampen the vibrations down.

    Any views on choice of compact or compact plus Truma units , we have small 480 swift but wonder if it's over kill to get the + version as has more cooling capacity , perhaps quicker it chill and not have to work so hard and only £200 or so more?

    We had a Dometic Freshjet unit installed in our motorhome and it has been a godsend. We had a powered fan/ window removed in the kitchen area and it vents to the bedroom and living room. In France and Spain we were caught up in the heatwave with 46c outside. The unit cooled our 7.5m motorhome down to 20c with ease. You need to check the site's power supply though- especially on the continent where you get perhaps 5amps.

      @@abbywaddington7636 Hi. It was about £2.8k fitted. We get so much use out of it ( we travel with a cat & couldn’t leave her otherwise during the summer in the moho) It makes sleeping at night so comfortable and it also heats in the winter so we use it a lot!

      @@abbywaddington7636 AMC Motorhomes near Hailsham, East Sussex. Not sure how far away they are from you but they were very good, only took a day. The air that comes out of it is like ice, it’s lovely. Think we might move in to the moho this weekend to escape the heat wave 😆
      BTW. Prices may have come down since we had it installed. They’ll advise on the correct size of unit for your moho. We are 7.6m long and our AC is for a 7m van but it works fine. You can decide where the air blows, it’s all adjustable. It had a sleep mode too which is quieter and it actually brings the temp up during the night by itself because it gets colder at night so you don’t wake up frozen!

      Hi Andy. I've just double checked and Truma state that the closed system needs no topping up, etc, although the filter needs changing each year. A link can be found here: www.truma.com/uk/en/faq/maintain-truma-air-conditioning-system#:~:text=We%20recommend%20that%20you%20replace,each%20year%20or%20as%20required.

      We've stayed at lots of 6 amp European sites and never had a problem, even when it reached 45.5'C. Truma said the Aventa has a 'soft start' instead of a sudden draw of electricity which would trip the bollard. That said, a friend had his AC unit trip a bollard in Germany

    • @TinTent
      @TinTent  2 года назад

      Also, when we use it on low amp sites, we make sure everything else of off such as water heater, kettle, etc

    Do the units filter the air? My wife has asthma and with the pollen at some sites it can affect her.

      The unit is fitted with filters but it doesn’t specify whether they filter pollen. It’s says they filter the air but nothing beyond that. Hope that helps. Thanks, Lee

    Have you had problems at some campings with the power draw? I mean, what is the smallest fuse you have run it on?
    Some campings just offer like 4amps. Have you tried that?
