I think they will start to sell these Truma units as retrofits in the USA. We have a large class A motor coach, but I have to say on your side of the pond, you have the nicest caravans. Absolutely beautiful!
Hi, First of all thanks for watching, It would not surprise me at all, I guess they just need to establish their dealer network for the support and installation. Thank you for the kind words on our Caravans, its funny as we are quite Envious of your RV's and Large Motorhomes, Trouble is they would struggle on some of our English Lanes. Happy Camping all the best James
Thanks for helpful demo on the Aventa. Favor to ask... does the fan on your truma AC run 100% of the time when it's powered on, or only when it calls for heating or cooling? And do you find the temperature fairly accurate compared to set temperature versus actual?
Thank you, Yes the fan on the AC unit Does run all the time while the unit is on, we have only used it when it has been very hot, so it has needed to be on all the time, In the evening we put it into night mode, and it runs a lot quieter. Hope that helps James.
I find the "delay" from the remote really frustrating. I keep thinking it isn't working :-) That's very interesting. On command I do have the heat function, by when I press it, it doesn't have the blue square box around it. I personally think none on the 3 control mechanisms work that well. ATM I can't control the heating via command. It changes the numbers but doesn't change it on a Alde screen. Command is pretty pants I think and only good for dimming the lights... During a hot day in the summer (on the drive) it did cool from 30 degrees to 19 degrees in full sun light. Which I think is great. (I was using a thermometer inside with a sensor outside as well ... I'm still getting to grips with the controller, the truma one seems very lagging, not tried the Alde panel though as I too have an AC section now.
Hi Graham, Yes the remote does seem very delayed and frustrating, I cant seem to get anything AC related working now from the Swift Command. The Truma Control Panel does seem to work ok. Just frustrating to have the other options but nothing working. I am considering having the Truma Inet fitted and see how that works. Truma UK are not to far away from me in Derby, I might contact them direct with regards the Inet and possibly sorting out the control functions as they should know the suitability and functionality for the Swift Command as its a feature of the system. After a software upgrade to the swift command last year all has been good for us and no issues. However for heating and water functions I do use the Truma Panel more often than not. Good News that you managed to get it to cool ok. I am pleased with the unit its just the controllability that is frustrating,
A good piece of kit there James. Did the dealer go through all controls on hand over? Been doing some research and it says the modes that appear on screen, i.e cool, fan etc will depend on the AC fitted. Your screen doesn’t show heat. So does that means something isn’t set up correctly and that’s why you can’t control it via the Command screen. I would have an AC fitted but haven’t the available payload. Hope you get it sorted. Cheers, Rob
Hi Rob, Yes the dealer did go through things with us but only with the remote control, I also had a full demo when we first looked at it on the display stand, but again that was only with the Remote. Yeh I do wonder if the Control Panel has not been set up correctly. I am also going to look at having the Truma "Inet" Fitted to see how that works. Thanks for watching. James
Hi Fraser, thanks for watching, We haven't used it to full effect yet, last time we used it I had it on 18 and it was about 25 outside, the caravan was very chilly. We should be able to test it more fully in the next couple of weeks as we are off to the south of France and expect to have warmer temperatures. I will keep you updated. Thanks for watching & Happy Camping. James
Can I ask a couple of technical questions. What size is your inverter? And do you have any issues when using shore power with fuses tripping due to start up currrent? Thank you
Hi Thanks for watching and for you questions. I only run the unit off Mains Supply, So its runs of the 240v supply when pugged in. All sites we stopped at were fine apart from 2, where they only had 6amps available from the connection post,. If we tried to run the fridge and water heater off 240v at the same time we had issues, not with the Air Con but with the Water Heater and Fridge, If I switched both of them to gas, all was fine with the Aircon. I have not had any fuses or CB's tripping with the the start up current is 28 amps but only for 150 milli seconds so never caused an issue. I hope that helps. James
@@CaravanEscapades101 Thanks James. I thought the heavy start load might trip, but if you haven't had any issues, that sounds good. Thanks for replying.
I ordered the compact. But upgraded to the comfort. How when I've just done some research the comfort is the recommended size for the caravan. The dealer never said that. But then sometimes you want the thing as cheap as possible. How you finding it ? Did you get the heating function working via the wall plate. They should work in random.
Hi My Dealer was very good and recommended for the size of my Caravan, that the I needed the Comfort. I have only managed to use it twice so far since having it fitted. It is still a bit Clunky using with the control panel and I find the Remote has a delay when using it.. I did get the heating function working but it doesn't work great below 4 deg. I am having Truma fit the New INET X in April. They are going to make sure all the software is as it should be. Hopefully the Inet X will give it the functionality I am after, I will be doing a Vlog on it when its been fitted. Hope that Helps. Happy Camping. James

Hello Sonia, As I have the Swift command panel I can check the Amps that are being drawn by the Caravan in that, I am not sure if you can check within the Truma AC unit Itself. I will investigate and see if there is a way. The units however are specified as follows Aventa Compact 2.8 amps Start Up 20 amps Aventa Comfort 4.2 amps Cooling 3.7 Amps Heating Start Up 28 amps Aventa Compact Plus 4.4 amps Start Up 28 amps. The start up Current draw is for 150 milli seconds only. Hope that helps James

In all honesty, I think the Camera Mount makes it sound a lot noisier than it is. During threw night we put it into night mode and you get a slight hum that has caused us no issue at all. We find it no nosier than using a standard fan on a low setting. Thanks for watching and commenting.
