Just watched 1-7 !! Fantastic.. Loved watching the adventure... we have been caravaning for 15yrs and never left the UK.... Next year will be the first time we will take our van to France 😀
Looking forward to this one James …. Something A little different 😊
HI the pitches dont look very wide for awningd
@paulmoody4327 I agree not as wide as CMHC hard standing pitches. I think the expectation is to put awning up on the grass next to the hard standing. I think this is the same with most CCC sites
My god you could put a glass eye to sleep
@@pauharpe8464 Thank you for the compliment it's very much appreciated 😁
is the hot water heater on when you do this or just running cold through the hot water pipe?
Hi, no hot water, not on. I'm just running cold through. Hope that helps. James
Please do post some content about your trip to China. Would love to see it.
Hi, I am just sitting in the airport waiting to return. I have posted a quick preview of the trip. Once I have edited the full vlog, I will upload it. It might be quite a long one 😁
Good morning, how did you get on with the bottles in France? We are going in August and wondered if you had to refill them and if so where? Thank you
@MrJona7han Hi, really well. We didn't even use one full one. We ran the fridge for 3 weeks on gas and BBQ every day. I took 2 bottles but also got a gas refill adaptor kit for Europw off Ebay.
biggest problen i had was getting the plastic style refills ,locally calor gas easy ,had to travel a round journey of 3 hours to middle of Edinburgh at weekend as neartest place I could get a refill ,are there a lot less places that sell these
Hi, from Experiance Home Base and Costco do them. So, I have always used HomeBase. I have now, however, swapped to SafeFill, and we are lucky there is a place to top them up close to us.
I have the same awning came with our caravan and, like you, can not fathom out what those pins are for. I shall keep searching.
Apparently, they are for the extra poles that can be purchased to make the front into a canopy, and they stick in the bottom of the poles
Have a nice time. Looking forward to a Vlog dump when you return. Stay safe.
Thank you. I am just sat in the airport waiting to fly back. I have loads of footage of the adventure.
Have a good one
Thank you. I am just sat in the airport waiting to fly back.
Bring me back a 21 & 31 & a portion of chips ..can’t beat chips for the Chinese… safe travels..

Safe travels james 🙏
Thank you

@@nickgeorge6734 I certainly will be looking out for Catavans 😄
Hi, I’ve got a headache after this, sorry mate think you flick the camera around too quick. Anyway, how close is it to town? And any buses nearby please?
@johnsquires5988 Hi, yes, sorry about that, it won't happen again. 😁. It's about 2 miles from West Bridgford, about 5 miles from Nottingham, and a direct bus that runs through both about 100m from the site entrance outside the pub.
@@CaravanEscapades101 A pub! Even better, thank you very much for your help
@johnsquires5988 to be honest, living local the pub isn't great. It's called the Shepards and is part of the Stonehouse chain. There is another pup in Cotgrave, The Manvers, but avoid the Rose & Crown that has really gone downhill. There are some great pubs in the Vale, which is only a few miles away. Also, good pubs in Weat Bridgford and Nottingham.
@@CaravanEscapades101 cheers
A great take on the subject
Thank You
Never really thought of the mobile as gadget but it is probably the most used gadget that the majority of people have. Mine is certainly used an awful lot. We have a caravan levelling app too. Search for sites and all that so probably the most important gadget ever.
I know, I was thinking about all the gadgets we have in the Caravan and the realised the phone was the one I used the most
All ready for the holidays, have a good and safe trip
Thank you I have a business Trip to China Next Week then I am back for the weekend and we head of to France, I cant wait :-)
That's a stunning site would love to go there sometime were in Scotland live in Glasgow going to Strathclyde caravan park in 2 weeks it's really nice there have you ever been up Scotland anywhere?
Hi It was very nice, we did enjoy it. We haven't been yet with the Caravan, We keep saying we will go. We need to commit and get something booked. Do you have any sites or area's to recommend
@CaravanEscapades101 yes there are loads we go to luss at loch lomond
@@paul-fk7de Thank you I will tale a look
Great take on the subject of gadgets, we all use our phones with out really thinking about it.
Thank you, Yes I use it while setting up on the pitch using at least 3 Apps and don't even think about it. I bet there are a load more out there. Maybe I will have to go on the hunt and do another Vlog on Apps
@@CaravanEscapades101 good idea, we took your tip on the Michelin app for working out toll costs in France as I want to get to Normandy quickly and was concerned about the cost on toll roads
@alandciskasmohotravels that's great. Have you thought about an Emovis Tag. it's a tag you can put on your window and makes it so much easier at the tolls. You also don't get billed until the end of the month after travel.
You need to put apps in to folders 😂
I know I keep meaning to, I will probably sit and do it one evening when we are in France in a couple of weeks
Very interesting take, on Gadgets... lets be honest, a smartphone is like a swiss army knife!
Thank you Very True

Mine has a R clip just did it on the caravan with out removing the whole thing 2 minutes job
@jonnoble4486 Hi, Yes, thanks. for sharing it can be done on the Caravan. It's easier to film taking it out. Also, I wanted to show how to replace the whole assembly. Thanks for watching. Happy Camping, James
One job my list of jobs to do
@leegraham3875 Lol, there is always a list of jobs to do. Thanks for watching, and happy camping. James
I’ve just received my new kart wheel as well, like you I have had the same issues and you blog is going to help me change mine, would you not recommend putting some new grease on the shaft and thread ???. PS I absolutely loving my new 20Ltr Colapz and trolly, no issues at all.
@roymorgan138 Hi, thanks for watching. The wheel can be changed with the assembly in situe.' it was easier to film, taking it out and saved me lying around on the floor. Yes, I would recommend adding some new grease. Shhhh, don't mention the Colapz 20l barrels. 🤣🤣🤣. I am glad they are working for you. I am looking forward to using them in France. Happy Camping, James
I think your clock is showing the wrong date?
@@johnmillard9725 lol.your right.i will need to change that. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does this work on a thermostat so it switches itself off occasionally when it’s cool enough, or is it just on all the time ?? I’ve just bought one
Hi Its Just on all the time, Hope that helps James
Why can’t you change the wheel while the bar was still in the A frame
@alanpostma5861 Hello, thanks for commenting. As I mentioned in the vlog, it can be changed in situe. It makes it easier to film, taking it all the way off. I also wanted to show how to take the complete assembly of if anyone who needed to do that. Happy Camping James
Also as mentioned in the Vlog. As its a Kartt, I have swapped it from the old caravan to the new one. 😁
Hi also, as I mentioned in the Vlog, I took this off the old caravan and fitted it to the new one. 😁

Now THIS looks like a gadget potentially worth having! Much easier to install than the Dometic one. Cheers for the review.
Hi No Problem at all, its really easy and works great, thanks for watching,
Very true, I think our mobile is one of our best gadgets. Everything at your fingertips!
You know I love my gadgets, but I have to say the Mobile and all the apps, is brill😁
Hi James Can you do a vlog and go through the ACSI card and how you use it and the benefits Thanks
Hi Jerry,. I can, but it wont be for a few weeks, I am traveling overseas very soon for work and then when I get back we are off on our French trip. I will get one done though. 😁
I do appreciate your honesty with your reviews! And I know you love your gadgets but... You say 'it's a solution to a problem' so what's the problem? We carry our empty aquarol in the lounge area where there's oodles of space and if we're going somewhere with no water, just put a bit in it and put it in the car (as we only have a teeny payload). I expect the reason you can't find it on the website is because no-one wants to buy it! In my opinion, Colapz seem to make a load of sexy looking stuff out of colourful plastic that no-one actually needs! Which just ends up as yet more landfill! Decent vlog, though! 😊
Hi, thanks for your honest feedback! I appreciate your perspective on the Colapz water barrel. The 'solution to a problem' I mentioned refers to its compact size and collapsible nature, which we will find handy on our French trips. We like to stop a lot and use the caravan, so like to have it clutter free to make it easy, For us this works, I am not sure I will ever get rid of the Aqa Roll. We will have to see how they fair on our French trip in a few weeks. It seems like you have a well-organized system with your aquarol, utilizing your lounge area effectively and managing your payload considerations cleverly. Your insights about the product’s availability and consumer demand are valid points. It’s possible that market preferences and practical considerations like payload affect product popularity. I’m glad you enjoyed the vlog, and I appreciate your engagement with our content. Thanks for watching and happy camping James
@@CaravanEscapades101 Cheers, James, yes I can see how it may be useful, now, in your situation.
I did find this video very useful and to the point no faffing around although not keen on the bleach spray but just me. Your good to listen to, keep the good work up
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback, Lol the Lash product I used didn't have a bleach content, I was one used for general cleaning and degreasing. Thanks again for watching, and happy camping.
ASCI is great, especially off season. We had no idea there was a Fire TV app! (off to download that now)
Thanks for the vlog... a good selection of apps.... like the cl site booker... we love the little hideaway cl sites. So we will be downloading a copy of that.
Thank you we do love a CL😀
The Acsi app looks really good, will use this for France next year. Might pick your brains....
Hi it really is, land so easy to use, once you select a site it also opens up maps and directs you there. More than happy to help
Hi, does this mess with the warranty of the van?
Hi No, there should be no reason for it to mess with your warranty, You are only picking up a 12v Supply and clamping it to the back of the grill. If you are concerned check with your dealer first. Thanks for watching and happy camping
Hi James, Absolutely love the Channel. Think I’ve watched your French trips over and over this year 😊 We are off to France in the van for first time in a few weeks like yourselves I wondered if you could help me out on reverse polarity that I keep hearing about when on site. Is it a must to take an adapter with you ?what do you use for the EHU ?and any suggestions as I am super confused. Thanks Ryan
Hi Ryan, Thank you that's very kind of you to say. What Electrical Panel do you have on the Caravan. If its Sargent one then you have an indicator light on it, That when you connect to the post in France, It will illuminate if you have reverse polarity. If you don't have this panel you can get one of these www.amazon.co.uk/Socket-Tester-Polarity-Electrical-Indicator/dp/B0CYCFWCS3/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=CDS8IPNDHNU5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.HQftbop0649JCx2rVmAo-z6WitLofoDeAznYezh34a-ed5yK04Z76f4EbT_VMo1KNiUkQq6AhS0LUquhAkbbGfh6dEzZ0oK0cwwicQfu1Pi5oym_QOrfEiPxbHbikFUKfHrR5y8KJQRtXK6k-RV_1peCakDXd9KHydQ2QnO1gimsukjhyvF4KMJ4dsmO2ps9CqReTEdhsKQKwI85rzheJusYcws7MpclvXFFjsD7f8ltDc1Z8HDLtLTdhO6qGsNNeYi8dwvhdDqfYY8D8c2f6ThnAT5OHzkeCJCL3Ze9k0M.ejTc6H26O3L3Y-fGp75vVTcS02D4d1T_-cMUKLXMaio&dib_tag=se&keywords=Revers+Polarity&qid=1719954515&sprefix=revers+polarity%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
If you do find you have reverse Polarity, things will still work, but they remain live when switched off, as the Live is on the negative side. So its worth correcting things which is easy enough to do if you get one of these. www.amazon.co.uk/Eagle-Caravan-Camping-Reverse-Polarity-Orange/dp/B0CK2GL71R/ref=sr_1_5?crid=CDS8IPNDHNU5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.HQftbop0649JCx2rVmAo-z6WitLofoDeAznYezh34a-ed5yK04Z76f4EbT_VMo1KNiUkQq6AhS0LUquhAkbbGfh6dEzZ0oK0cwwicQfu1Pi5oym_QOrfEiPxbHbikFUKfHrR5y8KJQRtXK6k-RV_1peCakDXd9KHydQ2QnO1gimsukjhyvF4KMJ4dsmO2ps9CqReTEdhsKQKwI85rzheJusYcws7MpclvXFFjsD7f8ltDc1Z8HDLtLTdhO6qGsNNeYi8dwvhdDqfYY8D8c2f6ThnAT5OHzkeCJCL3Ze9k0M.ejTc6H26O3L3Y-fGp75vVTcS02D4d1T_-cMUKLXMaio&dib_tag=se&keywords=Revers+Polarity&qid=1719954515&sprefix=revers+polarity%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-5
Just put that between your EHU cable and the post and all will be good, the polarities (Wires are swapped over) in side so corrects it
Also you may need one of these adaptors, if the site you are on has the normal domestic plugs. www.amazon.co.uk/Howsehold-Hook-Up-Pin-EU/dp/B0CVHCC2WT/ref=sr_1_15_sspa?crid=CDS8IPNDHNU5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.HQftbop0649JCx2rVmAo-z6WitLofoDeAznYezh34a-ed5yK04Z76f4EbT_VMo1KNiUkQq6AhS0LUquhAkbbGfh6dEzZ0oK0cwwicQfu1Pi5oym_QOrfEiPxbHbikFUKfHrR5y8KJQRtXK6k-RV_1peCakDXd9KHydQ2QnO1gimsukjhyvF4KMJ4dsmO2ps9CqReTEdhsKQKwI85rzheJusYcws7MpclvXFFjsD7f8ltDc1Z8HDLtLTdhO6qGsNNeYi8dwvhdDqfYY8D8c2f6ThnAT5OHzkeCJCL3Ze9k0M.ejTc6H26O3L3Y-fGp75vVTcS02D4d1T_-cMUKLXMaio&dib_tag=se&keywords=Revers+Polarity&qid=1719954515&sprefix=revers+polarity%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-15-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1
If you do find you have reverse polarity with this plug, you just unplug and turn around, failing that jut put it in line with the adaptor and the EHU lead.
Great , short sweet and to the point. Have learnt two things from your video. 1the line up of the wheel and 2 the way both shafts are put in together
Thank you, I am glad it helped, it makes it all worth while 😁
Hi James, do you know the cable length from fam to controller? Many thanks
Hello Sorry I don't, But it was Several Meters, So should be pretty adequate for most installs
Just a suggestion on the thermocouple lead. You appear to have it dangling down towards the bottom vent where it’s going to be in the cooler air current. Should it not be located in the upper part of the cabinet so it can effectively pick up the temperature rise and activate the fans.
Hello, you are correct, and what I didn't show but should have done is coiling the thermocouple up and placing up towards the top to make it more effective. I appreciate highlighting this, and hopefully, if anyone reads the comments, they will understand to position it high up. when I get the chance, I will do a pinned post to comment. I may even do a quick follow up vlog. thanks again James
Hi ya James.Just tried to purchase using the discount code and it says code invalid?
Hi, Let me email Titan and check. It may take them a couple of days to get back to me. Sorry about that. I will keep you updated
Hi James, very interesting. I confess my ignorance in saying I am not sure I would be able to splice a 12V feed from the van as I am not sure I could identify which cable to take the feed from. Is there a simple way to identify the correct cable? I could do the splice if I had the correct cable identifies. I was sited on the north Scottish coast at a CL three days ago, (Crofters's Snug CL. a beautiful site with the best views of the sea and the Orkney Isles , the temperature was about 21C but the sun was direct on my fridge vents so my fridge was warmish). Your video was timely to say the least. Do you think DIY would affect the vans warranty? Thanks Colin
Hi to Identify the correct cable there are a couple of ways, if you can search online for a wiring diagram of your Caravan, you may even have one in the manual for the fridge or in the main user manual. Alternatively if you can use a Multi Meter you maybe able to get access to the back of a plug and check for 12v Dc. Or do you have something like an Aerial Booster near where you want to locate and you could pick up from that 12v Supply. I hope that was of help
