    We upgraded our caravan last year to an Elddis crusader super cyclone. It has an on-board water tank 40ltres, we use it all the time. Especially in the winter it's good, no worries about freezing pump or water. The day before we pack up, I top the water tank up. Pack the aquaroll and pump away, that gives us enough water for two showers and washing breakfast things up in the morning. Once you have a on-board water tank, you'll never have a caravan without one. Lovely caravan by the way 👍🏻

      Thank you, I am quite looking forward to giving the onboard tank a go to be honest. I will need to check how big it is, but I am assuming 40L. Thanks for watching James

    We've only used ours on a fully serviced pitch and don't use the aqua roll but put it straight to the taps and don't bother filling the tank. When and if we do have to use the aqua roll then we would more than likely still go straight to taps as we wouldn't have to play with the valves of redirection for the tank to fill. Even on our drive we have the water when needed fed in to the taps so much more convenient. We took delivery of the Challenger Hi Style special edition 650L last August as it was a steal as it was bought and after one night the people who bought it brand new and had their first night at the dealers campsite decided in the morning they no longer wanted it, their loss was our gain as we got it at a knockdown price plus dual motor movers from powrtouch. We had a Truma comfort AC fitted and we absolutely love it. Previously had a single axle but the twin axle tows a lot better. The new Nissan X trail e4orce epower pulls it with ease. We're sure you will love your outings with yours

      Hi Thanks for sharing your experience on using the onboard tank. I look forward to giving ours a good go. Wow it sounds like you got an absolute bargain with your New Caravan. Yes we love the AC, This is our second Twin Axle and agree they are so much more stable than a single axle. Thanks for watching and happy Camping James

    Nice van. I towed our 8' down to south of France and found it as easy as any other tow I have done. Must admit there were some tight spots on the approach to the campsite, but no different to where we live in Pembrokeshire. Enjoy the new van all of you and perhaps wear some knee & shin pads when getting into bed 🙂

    Just a quick tip, I have the same rear steady lock but found it not that secure as it’s a bit loose, so I cut a piece of plastic waste pipe and inserted it, it’s a perfect fit for the steady tube and the lock.

    Onboard water tanks are not a big deal. We have 3 tanks (100 gallon fresh water, 100 gallon gray water, 65 gallon black water). We normally travel (42 foot class A motor coach) with a full fresh water tank ant the other two tanks close to empty.

    Good morning, I have an onboard water tank and I love it. The day before we leave I take the water barrel in store so one less thing to do when leaving. Also I noticed you using a single AKLO wheel lock. My insurance is invalidated if I do not deploy both locks ( suggest you check ).
    I have E&P self levelling which make life so much easier so my arrival routine is to move my van into place, jack offside wheels, use E&P to raise near side and install both ALKO locks. Having done this now 10/12 times I can do it in about 6 minutes, so in reality takes a similar time to levelling my old single axle van. ( Also on my last evening on site I usually put on the travelling cover and take off all the locks if I am staying with the van for the evening so leaving is a less stressful activity the following morning)
    Hope you enjoy the new van she looks a beauty.
    Colin

      Hi Colin, thanks for the Info on the water tank. I have declared one Alko lock on the caravan and 4 Wheel locks, so all good there. Fitting E&P will be something for the future and looking forward to it. I WILL BE FITTING 2 ALKO locks then. Happy Camping James

    Hi James happy new van !!. Picked up our new coachman on Tuesday it has a onboard tank 40L, Love it mate, first time we’ve had one as our last van which was a 2021 challenger didn’t have one and it wasn’t even an optional extra.
    Tried it out for the first time at Woodland Waters as we were put up there for two nights kindly by Grantham Caravans.
    You can do a vlog on your Easter trip and let us know how impressed you are with it.
    If your on a fully serviced pitch fill it from the mains water , if not fill it from aqua roll then fill aqua roll and connect it and you have 80L. Good to hear your opinion tho when your away and use it.
    Enjoy your new van mate 👍🏻

    • @CaravanEscapades101
      @CaravanEscapades101  5 месяцев назад

      Hi Thank you. It is good practice to have the Jockey wheel high on a twin axel when manoeuvring, especially if you have to do tight moves, it makes the caravan easier to move and less stress on the tyre side walls. It reduces the weight and pressure on the front axel. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Camping James
