Thanks for this, I'm glad to say that I agree with everything you say especially re a fixed bed in a van used in Britain. I would just like to add that the size of the vehicle is a BIG factor and in my opinion bigger is not better, unless you have a backup vehicle then parking off site becomes a really limiting factor in a LWB van.
Exactly and this would be my preference. But my problem is I am travelling with my van when I get it. Not just holidaying in it. I have had enough of bricks and motar and high costs of everything so I'm off ! I have a small dog as well so we would need more room. But in an ideal world if I could drive a 7 meter van an Island bed would be fabulous!
Thank you! I see too many videos from people who hide their obvious anger/dislike for a particular manufacturer behind ‘advice’. I was genuinely hoping to help with that buying process in any way I could. Thanks again for your comments 👍
Great tips - as a couple, we love the fixed bed. We have it in a day position which is ideal for reading and lounging around when the weather is bad, and it's super-comfy at night with loads of space. Also, no faffing around in the evening or morning putting it up and stowing away. Another benefit is if one of you wants to go to bed early, or lie in, you're not gettingn in the way and have the peace and quiet of a bedroom. If we had kids with us, I would agree that the space it takes up could be used better. But for those who tour as a couple, I can't praise it highly enough!
Great comments thank you. 👏 Once again proving that there is no one size fits all. Everybody uses their vans in different ways and it is SO important to work out what’s best for you. 👍
As a first time motorhome buyer, I was so chuffed to come across your video in the rabbit hole of research I seem to have found myself in! You confirmed the layout thoughts I've been entertaining. I'm looking at the Auto Sleeper Scout and the Kon Tiki although this may a bit too big; I like the Scout as the over cabin bed doesn't seem to comprimise the light and space below. I'm just waiting for the right one to come along so I can test it out. If you or anyone else has any other tips or advice on models that conform to an endlounge layout, they'd be gratefully received.
Brilliant presentation , I've motor homeed 30 yrs . Your advice is spot on . Wish I'd known this 30 yr ago. I luv that people. E are now building their own custom vans. So easy to do , and cheaper . Thank for your advice which is spot on
So glad you said this! We visited a showroom a year ago. We entered one of "those" vans with the "puzzle assembly bed at the door" and we were soon in stitches! For one it took us and other visitors at showroom to try figure out how it all stuck together. Then the hilarity of the point we could not disassemble it to get out the van so had to clamber over it - giggling our guts out as we did so. And the whole showroom was in hysterics with us! hahahaha
Viewed one with a drop down bed - so glad I watched this. I decided to go with a Vw camper converted T30 for now - solid as a rock! It cost a third of the price ! Thank you
The best vlog of buying a Motorhome I’ve seen. We bought a 20 year old Kontiki 660 with a fixed bed and a decent front lounge area. There are only the 2 of us and a small dog so it suits us. Thank you for sharing and being so thoughtful and helpful. Brilliant! 🤩
100% with you on the bed scenario. When we bought our in May, one thing we were adamant we needed was a lounge area. We had hired a fixed bed Motorhome and whilst it was nice, the lack of seating area really got to us. Having somewhere to sit, read, watch telly, eat was very important to us. Thank god we did as guess what, the lousy British weather means we have sat in the lounge a great deal already.
Exactly that! 👏 having said that, so important to discover exactly what works for you as everyone has different needs. Glad you found what works for you. Thanks for adding your comment. 👍
Thank you, for your honesty, we are trying before we buy and renting. Worst van was one with bed coming down in the middle! Best is twin beds, good mattresses and if possible those rubber type springs under. Very handy if the twin beds can lift up in the middle and you can access cupboards easier. Must have windows that you can open each side. Usb sockets each side and place to put phone. 2 solar panels and a lithium battery. We had a van with electric stabilization rather than calles, that was great. Good heating, good insulation. An a store/awing. Cupboards that are rounded off, banging heads is horrible!
Good points you made, planning on a motorhome/ van and at age 61 had planned on a fixed bed, just spent a week in a caravan in Achmelvic and to be honest the rain shouldn’t keep you stuck in a van, be prepared, our national dress should be a goretex not a friggin kilt😄
Thank you so much for this video. I have been looking at motor homes for the past 6 months. Isn't it nteresting that the first thing they show you is the storage! Sod the storage look at the bed scenario, it is the most important. I have changed my mind on the layout about 10 times already. My advise is not to rush into it. Yes you are also right about people saying you shouldn't buy this make or that. There has been a problem with Ford in the past and Fiat had a problem with the gear box etc etc. They are all out there on the roads so whatever it is is a personal choice. Thank you once again for this video it makes great sense to newbies like me!
Absolutely right. Great advice. Bottom line is make a list of must haves and prioritise. One thing I would also say is it can be stressful driving a large motorhome & limits where you can go. A 6m to 7m van will go into many car parks, any bigger & it becomes a challenge.
Thank you for your candid review here, we've just bought a Bailey Autograph 79-4t, after looking at many for 3 years we kept coming back to this one, I like the separate bedroom, so don't have to look at the made beds, our lounge is wide and table stows in floor when need to relax, we've not even taken delivery yet but we did what you said and made everything up along with measuring every nook and cranny... 🤞👍
Great work! It’s all about finding what works best for you. Half the challenge is working out, without knowing for sure, what will, or will not annoy you. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍
Great advice my friend. I don't really understand people who say they love their fixed bed, the bed that turns into a nice couch can be left as a full time bed, but when the days of rain keep coming one after another that bed that turns into a comfy couch seems like a really really good idea. Sitting on the couch watching a movie with some snacks and a bottle of wine feels like heaven, and if you have too many wines just sleep on the couch and your partner can sleep in one of the swivel chairs. haha Safe Travels everyone.
Good advice !! Well done you 😂😊 sooo, having dragged around caravans, that leaked, had indoor swimming facilities etc. interesting upholstery choices , made by a colourblind, clown….. and had a lot of laughs! . We decided on a motorhome. Firstly: you see one that seems to be a bargain, get to dealership, the one you came for is right at the back, so you walk past all the beautiful shiny ones, to the beaut you’ve set your heart on, and it has green stuff growing on it, and smells of piss and biscuits. It’s had twenty owners, and none of them were particularly house proud. Excellent plan dear dealers ! Because IMMEDIATELY, you decide to add £10k to budget, and look at shinier ones. So we bought a van. ( £20 k over budget…) there’s just 2 of us, it was grey and PURPLE… and like sitting on a very narrow tube train. Just sitting there, facing each other, on two purple, uncomfortable park benches. With the table installed, I had a sudden understanding of why kids shoved in ‘ high chairs’ suddenly loose the plot. This was followed by paying a twat £1000 a year to store it, panicking about it being insured for meteorite strikes…. And wondering how yer grandad would feel about having FIFTY THOUSAND POUNDS standing on a bit of soggy tarmac 3 miles away from where you live! 😳 We sold it, Covid had made everyone think living in a tin box was a good idea, got allllll our money back ( that was a fluke! ) we spent less than half of that on older, simpler one, that isn’t run from an app on a phone, or require a phd in computer sciences…. It has knobs, and switches… that just click on or off when you poke them ! I was able to remove the strange smell, ( eventually) and managed to prise the dinner plate sized ‘barometer’ and matching clock with a crowbar off the walls! made new curtains, after removing the numerous dead flies…. And we Love love love it ! …. And can slouch and curl up …. All over the place! ( and have elbow room to hitch your pants back up in the loo! ) … as you say, it takes a while, it’s personal… but eventually, hopefully, you find the one for you and yours !! 😊😊
I bought a Swift Escape with a drop down bed for £45k 2019 . Perfectly happy . Being a practical engineer, I sorted weaknesses and rattles to my satisfaction.
Been looking/reading everything for two-months for our first motorhome, however, your video made me think differently and l’m immensely grateful to you for sharing experience. What a breath of fresh air, you’re brilliant, subscribed with notifications, many thanks again. 😊❤
Wow that is very kind of you! I’m glad it’s been of help. It can be so confusing, and we discovered that what you want and what you need are two very different things. Thanks again for taking the time to comment . 👍
We are entire newbies & have just purchased our first Motorhome, we haven’t gone anywhere yet but found your video by chance & have subscribed & liked. So nice to be chatted to than talked at even with all your experience. Can’t wait to see more. Thanks for your time & happy travelling Julie & Jack 🫶🏼
Thanks for sharing your experience with your motorhome, we will be sure to test all the things we would need and use in our next motorhome, we didn't really know with the one we have because being first time motorhomers never had the advice given so thank you.
Great advice....we have been and are caravaners for the last 20 years and enjoy the fixed bed luxury experience. But....we have always wondered about motorhome life....we spent some time having a look around the specifications we thought we needed. So a few weeks ago we decided to rent one of a similar layout and size to the one we were interested in. It cost us £1200 for 2 weeks ( £800 for first week + £400 second week in October 2023). It turned out we couldn't complete our intended journey to the Highlands due to adverse weather, flooding and land slides. We only made it to Pitlochry and then scooted south to Hadrian's Wall...Lake District....Peak District then home. The motorhome performed admirably in getting us around and we were able to pull in to attractions and towns on the way to our next site due to only being 5.95m long....something that's not really possible with an SUV and a 7m caravan. Also going 200+ miles in a single hop is nothing at all in a motorhome, not that comfortable towing a caravan. So...what did we finally think? We will be getting a motorhome at some stage in the future....we now know what is PRACTICALLY important to us and have identified the actual motorhome we will be getting. We still have some areas we need to drop the caravan for a couple of weeks to explore the area via car ( mainly Devon/Cornwall)...but then it will be time to change to the motorhome. My advice would be to rent first even just a weekend will cost £300....a lot cheaper than buying the wrong motorhome which will cost you £5,000 minimum to change out!!.....I hope this helps.
😆 I try to avoid them if I’m honest. I tried to be helpful in some way rather than just ‘angry and opinionated’. I genuinely think it’s all about working out what you actually need rather than what you can write down on your ‘perfect motorhome’ list. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It’s much appreciated.
A bit on the late side, but thank you very much for a most informative insight. I'm an 80 year old fart who would dearly love to take up having a small campervan. I had a Bambi, on a Bedford Rascal back in 1994 and would love to get something like a Citroen Romahome, which is more than big enough for me and 'er indoors, to be self sufficient on days or weekend. Best wishes to you sir.
Very kind of you! As long as you get to do what you desire, you’ve found the perfect vehicle.👍 Hope you find a Romahome or similar I agree it would be just the job! Happy travels to you and ‘er indoors! 👏
Well, that was a great use of 15 minutes thank you! So encouraging to see someone talking about their experiences and passing those on rather than saying you need this and your need that etc. We too were looking for a permanent bed, No. 1 on the list that was! Until we saw a few and then thought, do you know what, we could be spending a lot of time in here and it’s taking up almost half the space! Thank you! 😊
Thank you that’s very kind. As I said it’s all about finding exactly what layout suits your needs. For some fixed bed is perfect, for others not so much. Glad you’ve found yours. Thanks again! Happy travels.👍
@@OutAndAbout-UK We haven’t found ours yet, still looking, but thinking (after seeing a load!!) that a fixed bed does take up too much space and before looking I was determined that’s what we needed 😂 What do you have currently< out of interest? Thanks again for the honest video 😀
We have a 6 berth van one drop down double from the ceiling that is super comfortable but does impact ceiling height a little (I’m 6’5”) one easy to make up (but slightly fragile feeling) lounge seat conversion double and a blooming useless from double make up bed which is such a pain to make up we’ve never bothered, well we did but it all but collapsed! Terrible design!
What a brilliant video, very good advice,we have caravans for 30+years,and bought a new one in 2021, usual thing went to browse ended up buying, worse decision couldn't live with the small bathroom, end up taking it back a year later, didn't loose to much thankfully,so your advice is spot on,thanks for the video.
Thank you Dave, glad you enjoyed it. I didn’t want to make ‘just another slagging of specific manufacturers’ video. There are plenty of those kicking about! Just wanted to share my experiences good or bad. Thanks again! 👍
Thanks, great Vlog. We had a 7.5 MH with a lovely fixed bed /bedroom and a living area with a drop down double that we rarely used, you could also make up a single below, which was used once. The dogs liked that as they could jump into bed with the guest. Our MH with the fixed bed was our sanctuary, we loved it, it was relaxing. We had it for 9 years. Made lots of memories which ended last year due to picking up debris on the M6, which came through the floor, all 6 layers including two areas of insulation. We are staring our next adventures next month in a 6m panel van professional conversion with a unique design that gives us more floor space for the dogs etc. Not as luxury as our previous Chausson, but practical so let’s see how we go. Only 2seatbelts and 2 berth …. Plus 3 dogs 😂
Wow! Such a shame it ended it such a dramatic way! Sounded like you’d found the perfect motorhome for your needs? I’m sure the next van will soon be making more fantastic memories 🤞 Safe travels, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment 👍
This is great advice. I started with a tent, met the wife who also had a tent, we had a boy and a great dane, we got a big tent, we started buying camping kit to make it comfy but had no boot space to transport anything due to dog. Got a trailer, then got a trailer tent, then a caravan, tow car broke, needed something to hold us all plus an additional dog, couldn't find a big enough car and opted for a vwt6 camper, 4 berth, swivel seats, I'm 6feet 4 and 300lbs so the boy got the roof and wife and I squeezed onto rock n roll bed, Dane and other dog used floor and front seats. for longer trips we added an air hex awning, new dog was an escape artist, van didn't have hot water and wife didn't want to use more already limited space by carrying a cassette toilet so we had to use sites. No more wild camping. I used the vw as my daily driver but was getting fed up with long commutes in the underpowered van and wanted a car. The Dane had passed so I could use a normal estate but started looking at larger vans with hot water and toilets. Saw and fell in love with an Adria matrix 670slt (iirc and can't be bothered looking to check) salesman gave us an amazing deal on the vw (half way through lock down when folk couldn't go abroad but wanted to go on holiday). It's 7.5m 6berth. 2 single "hospital" beds for me and boy, drop down double for the wife (she occasionally takes a single and I use the double but I'm too big to share it), the lounge converts into a double but we haven't figured out the cushion jigsaw yet so the only thing that's slept there is the dog and he struggles as the drop down comes so low i wouldn't fit anyway. We've used it more in a year than I used the vw in 4yrs(camping). The big downside is the carry weight. 2 adults, child, dog, gas and water (120litre)and we are over weight, before adding bikes and everything else for a trip. Next test will be sleeping arrangements when mother in law joins us. She will need a single, wife in single, my in drop down doesn't leave room for boy who might need to use the cramped lounge area. Also there's no solar panel to trickle charge and no aircon for hot weather but we might add these which means even more over weight.
Brilliantly written.... just love the wife this, boy that, dog, then another dog, awning, cassette toilet.... etc... so enjoyed your matter of fact and almost list method to get this across! 😊 excellent!
Great advice sounds common sense but so easy to get sucked in when your surrounded by lots features and sales speak. Am looking now and big thanks for the advice
I agree with what you said and it is very useful. I purchased a motorhome, and I thought a few things were very important when purchasing it. I think the most important thing is to make a choice that suits your lifestyle and purpose. Second, there are various types depending on size, structure, amenities, etc. Since my wife and I are planning to travel around the country, we decided to do that. The last thing I considered was price and maintenance costs.
I agree about trying everything in the show room. We're in the process of buying our 3rd van and the salesman said he'd never seen customers be more thorough!
Had caravans, narrowboats, then motorhomes. Various combinations.....after a lot of experience we have settled for a t5 vw campervan and a caravan. Campervan for 1 possibly 2 nights and then vw towing a caravan for longer. Big motorhomes bring a multitude of problems.
You are spot on when I retired we went to a motor home show and was blown away by the one we chose never driven or camped before but this Bessacar 7.40 mtr was the mutts nuts until you drove the thing it bounced more than a ball it was to long round some corners you know some campsites seem to be for a minibus the gear change was like it was in the passenger side I could go on but one year and 10k out of pocket we changed for a 6mtr auto sleeper it’s perfect so never again will I go for the bells and whistles 😂😂😂
You are welcome! There are some really useful comments that have been left on this video too. If you get a chance to look through them. Hope you find the motorhome of your dreams 👍🤞
Appreciate your sharing. After about a year of researching, we purchased a used camper van. It checked all the boxes of what we felt we needed. Our van is 22 feet, which in the US means we can park it in our driveway and don’t need to store it and we can use as a regular vehicle. Being a retired couple, I love the fact that we can go anywhere and we have our water closet on board and don’t HAVE to stop or pull over. We shopped for our house in the same manner. You seldom ever get a 100% what you WANT so it’s important to know what your priorities are for what you want. We love our camper van and keep it maintained especially because she’s an older model, 2009!
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. You’re absolutely right about not getting 100%, As you have demonstrated, make yourself a list of requirements and just get as close as you can. 👌 Thanks again!
We live in Scotland, I'm semi retired and my is nearly there also. We are considering a motorhome so we're going to arrange the hire of one for a weekend just to see how we cope...In the meantime I'm researching buying a second hand one and have found your video to be Gold. Cheers
I have a caravan at the moment with a fixed bed and I am thinking of buying a motorhome next spring and getting rid of the caravan and I was thinking of getting a motorhome with a fixed bed until I just seen this video of yours and I 100% agree with you of what you said about fixed beds which I never thought of in that way before and you are right it takes up a lot of room and you only use it at night if you had long seat for settees whatever you want to call them you would be able to use them all day with a fixed bait you can't unless you want to lie down but my partner and I would never make the beds up because I think you can use them as to single beds and I know making that bears up can be a pain in the ass so now I am not looking for a motorhome with fixed bed I will be looking for one with a different layout so thank you for the video it was great and entertaining and some bloody good advice
Great video!! I loved the thought of having a motorhome, hiring one for two weeks was the best thing we did. It made me realise that I would never want to own one. 😂
Great video, passing on advice and experience. We hired one before buying. During the handover, we were advised that people would leave the bed made up all of the time. So for 2 weeks, we were left with the uncomfortable dining area to sit in. It was November in Scotland. The toilet and shower were combined with a curtain to protect the wood, and storage was pathetic. We hated it, it almost put us of motorhomes. It was a valuable lesson. We bought a motorhome with a fixed bed, a comfortable lounge, a separate shower cubicle, and a garage under the bed. It is perfect for 2 us.
Really good advice! Never considered or appreciated the practicalities of doing all those “tests”, we have just been doing the ol’ “that looks nice/ looks like it works for us” while looking at motorhomes without considering actually IF it works for us.
Very kind of you. Glad it’s been of some use. I do think sometimes we get carried away with the romance of it all rather than the more important side 🤷♂️ good luck with your searches and happy travels when you find one 👍
Thank you for this, we are looking for a van after camping for many years. I want the seating area for the reasons you’ve mentioned, been trying to explain this to hubby, he now gets it 😀
The most important thing, in my opinion is buying a Van that is Euro 6. I go to London a lot and from August this year I won't be able to go within M25 (except for very few areas). Also more and more European Cities are imposing low emission zones.
Thanks for the helpful info. My wife who uses a wheelchair and myself have been looking at motorhomes for about a month. I have been at them for about 6 years!, since we had to sell our caravan due to wife's illness and me getting older ! 🤣 We have decided on a Swift Voyager 540 with a drop down bed. Adaptations- door widened- lift etc The double bed/sitting area will be reduced so the bed can be lowered closer to the ground- I used to HATE making up the bed at night after sitting around a campfire with a few cans with friends! At the moment I'm just struggling with the conversion cost- around an 30% on top of initial motorhome cost! You're 100% correct take time , don't jump in and blow a pile of money. We think it will take us another 6 months to seprate ourselves from around 90K! Good luck
Thank you for your comments! I recently visited a fabulous company in Northampton who did the kind of modifications you’re talking about. So clever to see what they can achieve with a bit of thought and consideration. Safe travels when the time comes 👍 Sadly you’re also spot on about the costs!! Thanks again
Great video. We are just about to change our motorhome. One thing we have to consider is the size of our Greyhound! She is beautiful but we have to measure the space she takes up while sleeping.
We had a caravan with the 'lounge' area that converts into a king size bed and liked that layout. When we got our motorhome we went for the same layout. The only criticism we have is that the pull out slatted wooden bed support is not strong enough. We had breakages on the caravan and the motorhome. Even just sitting on the edge of the bed can cause a breakage. We solved the problem with 2 pieces of 3/4'' ply sheets used instead of the slats, and it goes neatly under the mat during the day.
Love the fixed bed, perfect at the back, opening the doors and taking in the views, plus sunrises, sunsets best most relaxing set up ever!!!
Very nice! It’s all about finding what works best for you and your needs. That’s the trickiest part! Enjoy your van. 🙌👍
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated. I think many have discovered bigger is not necessarily beneficial. 👍
Fixed bed every time for me
Exactly the point I was trying to make, find out what works best for you! 👍👌 thanks for taking the time to comment.
Exactly and this would be my preference. But my problem is I am travelling with my van when I get it. Not just holidaying in it. I watch loads of these types of videos. Rarely do I see cascaded logic that does not have some sort of bias.
Loved it and also liked you so well done
Thank you! I see too many videos from people who hide their obvious anger/dislike for a particular manufacturer behind ‘advice’. I was genuinely hoping to help with that buying process in any way I could. Thanks again for your comments 👍
Excellent video with lots of sensible and thought provoking comments.👍🏻👌🏻
Thank you 👍

I appreciate this video because me and my wife are looking for a new motorhome. Very good advice.
Thank you very much. It’s all a bit of a learning curve. 👍
The best vlog of buying a Motorhome I’ve seen. We bought a 20 year old Kontiki 660 with a fixed bed and a decent front lounge area. There are only the 2 of us and a small dog so it suits us. Thank you for sharing and being so thoughtful and helpful. Brilliant! 🤩
That’s very kind of you. Amazing! 🤩 I think I’ll pin this comment. 👌🤣
Excellent video, gave me some pointers, many thanks
Thank you, glad it was of use. Also, worth pointing out there are some great ‘other perspectives’ in the comments too.
Very informative for someone like me who is considering buying a Motor home. Thankyou. Phil.
Very kind of you. Thanks for taking the time to watch it and comment👍
100% with you on the bed scenario. When we bought our in May, one thing we were adamant we needed was a lounge area. Exactly that! 👏 having said that, so important to discover exactly what works for you as everyone has different needs.

A heartfelt rant about interesting choices.
Nailed it!
Great comments, thank you! At 6’5” I agree 100% about the cupboards! 🤕
Thank you, very informative. Just looking to buy our first motorhome so all advice more than welcome. Thanks again
Most welcome! Good luck in the search! 👍

Also width is pretty important

Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you! 👍
If more people could be this transparent and less opinionated.Spurious sales people would be nervous ! Great video well done!
😆 thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
Brilliant video ! Anyone buying a motor home for the 1st time should watch this.
You’re very kind. Thanks for taking the time to comment. 👍

Love this! Thanks so much for sharing :)

Thank you! Exactly that!🤣Safe travels to you too.
Thank you for this. Very good all bits of information are useful
Thank you! Hope it helps 👍
Thank you for the advice. I stay in Scotland and you have made me rethink the motorhome options I had been looking at. Cheers.
Wow. Thank you for your comments. Glad it’s been of some use 👍
Great advice. I will be hiring a MH of the model I'm considering buying before I buy, for exactly the reasons you're covering here
Ideal if you can 👍
Good advice !!
We sold it, Covid had made everyone think living in a tin box was a good idea, got allllll our money back ( that was a fluke! ) we spent less than half of that on older, simpler one, that isn’t run from an app on a phone, or require a phd in computer sciences…. 😊😊
That is a fantastic comment! And so true! I’ve heard and experienced the same thing from many people! Sounds like you found ‘the one’ now though 🤞🙌
Brilliant, saying as it is; smells of piss and biscuits…classic, so very funny, though true😂
Legendary comments 🤣😁

You have just talked me in to keeping my motor home.
Ps I have had it for over 25 years and it still works great.
Great vid👍
Ha ha ha if it ain’t broke as they say! (And if there are broken bits on it - it’ll be much cheaper to fix than on a new one 👍😆)

Thanks for sharing your experience with your motorhome, we will be sure to test all the things we would need and use in our next motorhome, we didn't really know with the one we have because being first time motorhomers never had the advice given so thank you.
It’s all just one big learning curve really. Thank you for taking the time to comment👍 happy travels!
This is another fabulous comment! I couldn’t agree more with the points you make. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Happy travels! 👍
Good video well done
Thanks 👍
That was a breath of fresh air after all the sanctimonious, condescending old codgers that inhabit many of the forums! Thank you😊
😆 I try to avoid them if I’m honest.
As long as you get to do what you desire, you’ve found the perfect vehicle.👍
Hope you find a Romahome or similar I agree it would be just the job!
It’s a swift escape 685 2018model
@@OutAndAbout-UK Nice 👌

Thank you glad it’s been of some use. 👍
Thankyou for this. I am looking for my first (hopefully only!) MH and this info has really helped.
Thank you! I hope you find exactly what you’re looking for🤞
Thanks so much. Off to look at some . Added thoughts much appreciated.
Thank you. Hope it helps.
Thank you. 👍
Always great to hear from somebody who gives proper advice from experience. Great video. Just subscribed.
Thank you Dave, glad you enjoyed it. I didn’t want to make ‘just another slagging of specific manufacturers’ video. There are plenty of those kicking about! Just wanted to share my experiences good or bad.
Thanks again! 👍
Great advice. Thankyou so much.
Thank you for watching! 👍 the most important thing is that you find what works best for you! Thanks again
I’m sure the next van will soon be making more fantastic memories 🤞
Safe travels, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment 👍
Great advice. Very helpful. Cheers.
Thank you 👍
This is great advice.
Again, a fabulous comment. Thank you. 👍
You should be an author mate, absolutely brilliant story teller, Irvine Welch lookout 😂😂
🤣
Brilliantly written.... just love the wife this, boy that, dog, then another dog, awning, cassette toilet.... etc... so enjoyed your matter of fact and almost list method to get this across! 😊 excellent!
Good advice, thanks! :)
Great advice sounds common sense but so easy to get sucked in when your surrounded by lots features and sales speak. Am looking now and big thanks for the advice
So very true! Glad it was of some use, and good luck with the search 👍
Great informative video. I’m going to hire one first,to see what works for me.
Always a good approach! You’d be amazed how the things you think you’ll need change so quickly in actual use! 👍 thanks for taking the time to comment.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. 👍 happy travels!
An excellent video for anybody thinking of buying a motor home. A great watch.
Very kind of you to say that. It’s such a massive investment. 🤞
Thankyou - practical, relevant advice! Well said!
Thank you
This is a brilliant video. I picked up lots of tips. Thanks so much.
Thank you. 🙌
I agree about trying everything in the show room. We're in the process of buying our 3rd van and the salesman said he'd never seen customers be more thorough!
Good work I say! 👏👏enjoy your van!
I’ve just done the same. Caravan for long holidays Citroen camper for a couple of days. Great combo.
Fear not, you’re not alone😆. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍
Thanks for this video
Good advice. I'm thinking of getting one.
Thanks for your comments we are thinking about buying a motorhome so greener than green so any helpful hints are great 👍
You are welcome!
Thanks again!
We live in Scotland, I'm semi retired and my is nearly there also. We are considering a motorhome so we're going to arrange the hire of one for a weekend just to see how we cope...In the meantime I'm researching buying a second hand one and have found your video to be Gold. Cheers
Excellent, I’m glad it’s been of some use. Hiring one is a great idea. Good luck in the search, and when you find the right one, happy travels! 👍
Spot on. This is why we're doing our own panel van conversion. Fixed bed. Loads of storage, sofa/csptains seats for rainy days. You talk total sense 👏
Great plan! Good luck with the build!
That was a brilliant video. Thank you. Only thinking about camper vans/mobile homes. So very helpful. 👍👍
Thank you. Glad you found it useful 👍
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I’m glad the video has been of some use. 👍 hope you find the perfect van for you🤞happy travels
All good advice, thank you 👍👍👍
Thank you. There have been some useful comments left from others too!
I had an Augusta, lounge at the front a separate two single bed bedroom for the kids, it was my 3rd but favourite motorhome!!
Great video!! I loved the thought of having a motorhome, hiring one for two weeks was the best thing we did. It made me realise that I would never want to own one. 😂
That’s brilliant! 🤣 thanks for taking the time to comment!
Thanks first of all for the nice comments and secondly thanks for sharing your views and experiences too. 👍
I want the seating area for the reasons you’ve mentioned, been trying to explain this to hubby, he now gets it 😀
Happy to help! 😉👍
The most important thing, in my opinion is buying a Van that is Euro 6. I go to London a lot and from August this year I won't be able to go within M25 (except for very few areas). Also more and more European Cities are imposing low emission zones.
Yep it’s certainly becoming a major consideration 👍
Great video well done 👍🏼
Thank you. 👍
Safe travels when the time comes 👍
Sadly you’re also spot on about the costs!!
Thanks again
Who was the company in Northampton as I am finding very hard to find anyone else for modifications? Thanks
@@Forhesa apologies! Nuneaton not Northampton 🙈 Coach Built GB they were called, I bought some parts from there!
@@OutAndAbout-UK Yes they were the same company I was in contact with , thanks
Best advise is to rent a couple of different types to find out what suits you and your life style. Everyone wants something different.
spot on
Cheers! 👍
Great video. We are just about to change our motorhome. One thing we have to consider is the size of our Greyhound! She is beautiful but we have to measure the space she takes up while sleeping.
That’s great! And definitely the most important detail! 👏👍
I agree 100% about the slatted pull out bit. And yes, just sitting on it causes issues! Thanks for the comment 👍
Good video.I’m sticking to my caravan.😊
🤣Enjoy!
