Yeah I was kinda surprised too! I always figured seaweed was just an aquatic plant, but after researching it, it turns out that it’s its own thing 🤷♂️
:) thanks! I suspect keeping Sea-Monkeys with corals is also possible, but I’ve never tried growing them before. I have a feeling it takes quite a bit of work but I might give it a go one day
This is an awesome development! Older manuals stressed never introducing anything foreign into the tanks. These were cautions about not sneezing near them or sticking your fingers in the water, but aquarium decorations or common fish tank gravel were also unsuitable for the fragile environment. So I'm always interested when your experimental set-ups show brine shrimp existing alongside sand or plastic leaves & such. My heart did skip a beat when you started clipping the seaweed with the scissors, but if anyone's going to be careful around their sea-monkeys, it's you, ha ha. Great video, genuinely inspiring!
Since you've said in the past that you live very close to the shore, I assumed that you were going to say that you took something that you thought might work from a rock pool and put it in your Sea-Monkey tank, but the fact that it 'seeded' itself is just wild!
I’m currently living in Wellington, which is the windiest city in the world! The combination of that + living close to the beach means I get a LOT of air flow through my windows 😆
Oh wow seeing those little air bubbles move along the filaments is crazy. Thank you for showing us that. I didn't know something existed where that process was directly visualizable
On warm days you can often see microalgae & macroalgae “pearling”, where they constantly form and release litte oxygen bubbles, its super cool to see it happening so quickly 🫧
Here's a really cool way to get decor for ur seamonk tank. Go to your closest marine aquarium store and see if they have "unseasoned live rock". Ask for chips or pebbles- small little bits around ½ inch to 2inchs in size. Place in a tank by the window, salinity same as seawater (or however you want to keep ur seamonks) leave for at least a month. Your pebbles will have been seeded with lots of different larvae, eggs and cysts from the area where they were collected. Depending on what was there you may get sponges, algae and macro algae, worms, coralline algae , bryozoans, even starfish and corals. It's very important to check for pests that can prey on your seamonks , mainly anemones. Remove them ( if you want! Or leave them if you want a more complex ecosystem) Sometimes you may get nothing at all. When everything has settled down add your seamonks. We used to do this at a pet shop i worked at, namely chucking bits of live rock into those gimmicky little tanks that were supposed to be for bettas. 9 times out of 10 algae and copepods would appear. (However we never put brine shrimp, i just got that idea after watching these videos!)
I have a few different types of shrimps in my aquariums, one of them is a shrimp that lives for 20 years+ called Opae Ula. They live in Brackish water, a certain chateo grows well and that's it. Much like Sea Monkeys, you just let them sit and they can thrive with occasional topoffs. Maybe this is something I can potentially try in that tank as Brackish water isn't very friendly to plant life.
Thank you, Professor Bozinov. Truly fascinating. I wonder if you put the clippings in another tank if they would take hold and grow. We always learn something from your videos. 👏👏👏

all types of seaweed are actually edible, you just have to rinse the fuck out of them to strip out as much of the salt as possible, some types of kelp can even be used as a substitute for lettuce in salad
Nope! Apparently Gutweed releases gametes and spores into the water quite regularly, so somehow some of them ended up in my tank. I’ve actually been seeing this stuff show up in a few of my brine shrimp tanks recently, though the one in this tank looks the nicest
Eh guess what already did that before you basically I made or at slowly acclimated by sea monkeys into fresh water now they can live with snails and plants I actually overfed them and there there's only one left but the thing's clearly in a plastic tub wear with plants and Snails trumpet snails and bladder snails basically acrobate and weight like like your typical acclamation of like every single time when they give a birth put acclimated fresh water in there it has to be a big Tupperware where Where you pour the entire sea monkey taken side then solely accumulate them in fresh water in a tub where bin or small Tupperware and you can put them in ALEV light and then they ouch you will grow your slowly tournam into fresh water and then when it becomes fresh water then you can basically put some snails some fishes that won't eat the sea monkeys because they're way too big and snails so yeah thank you for reading this
The type of plants store in there is one plant that basically branch off in that with round leaves that you can find in a family pet store basically freshwater plant and then there's a moss ball the sea monkeys were living in fresh water OK but come back steadily overfed them But they are gonna be fineI have opened the lid because the other ones are all dead but I know there is one that hatched because 1 did hatched and well there's a lot of algae in there and don't have the only creatures in there there is gonna be smell there are snails 2 top of snails trumpet snails ladder snails Do you want to put the Strip Astracard Tiny Little Invertebrate In there in the future I do not know the gender of the sea monkey yet but They Or slaving as well So yeah I'm the first person in the world who made fresh water sea monkeys Or Bryan shrimp or classification of their species The basically every single time when they basically produse offspring I put a small cup ofIs water tap water or Reversal smokes water Notably mine is kind of broken but there's still a lot that they survive It The cup that I used was named or is Dona ..maria mole Mexican sauce... I just used to cop not the thing don't die with the thing with the other creatures I just used to cook from that product I use that Pacific cup for the water And I do it only once with that cup when the baby c monkeys grow up and then when they reproduce again then I'll do the water againAnd plus we have fungus gnats in the house because we have plants The sun them died in the water becoming a little bit Hardy it's okay and before I put the snails and the plants in there I use the reverse hospital's water to rent more for a put in the window so yeah that's how I get it underneath AUV light
Despite living on the California coast for 25 years, I had no idea kelp and sea weed weren’t plants. You have broken my brain good sir.

Hi I was wondering how to keep my sea monkeys alive for a long time because I have a channel and I’ve made a series of me raising sea monkeys and I want to keep that series running for as long as possible
Check out my video titled “10 essential Sea-Monkey tips for beginners” 👍
@@pico-cosmos thank you it helped me out a bunch
@@pico-cosmosafter watching it I am gonna try to buy some of the equipment to help the growth of my sea monkeys and help out your channel
@@pico-cosmos also I was just on mercari I spotted a sea monkey tank I’ve never seen before and it is the sea monkeys pirate treasure tank it would be a great video for you I would do it my self but I don’t have enough money it is 261$
I have my own but they just hatched and my phone can barley see them
Does the sea monkeys get stuck in the gutweed?
I am going to get into marimos and set up a tank. Do you know if marimos and sea monkeys can live together?
Can the marimos tolerate salty water?
@@pico-cosmos one answer was yes but the rest no, so I am assuming no. I am new to both sea monkeys and marmios. I ordered the mars one off Amazon and after they got established I was thinking of adding them to a bigger tank with plants.
what do i give my sea monkeys after the starter food is all gone?
Spirulina powder is probably the best and most available option. Yeast can work too.
Would you try cultivating some predatory species of sea monkeys in larger tank?
Like fish?
@@pico-cosmos bit sort like? not sure bit closer to triops probaly but branchinecta gigas sounds really interesting from what i read
People should definitely do this when theyre raising sea monkeys
all types of seaweed are actually edible, you just have to rinse the fuck out of them to strip out as much of the salt as possible, some types of kelp can even be used as a substitute for lettuce in salad
Can you do eny sea monkeys vs aqua dragons tank vid 20 of asking love your vids❤❤❤❤❤
Yup!
How much was ur microscope
I think around $500 USD
Ok wait you didn't put it in there??
Nope! Apparently Gutweed releases gametes and spores into the water quite regularly, so somehow some of them ended up in my tank. I’ve actually been seeing this stuff show up in a few of my brine shrimp tanks recently, though the one in this tank looks the nicest
@@pico-cosmosnature continues to be more impressive and fascinating
"Nature, uh, finds a way."
I have a sapphire
where can i get gut weed not from a beach?
I’m not sure.. I don’t think anyone sells it 🤷♂️
@@pico-cosmos if I did find some do I just use super glue? Because I've seen fish safe glue before
You can buy sea lettuce online instead :)
Is it safe to put fake plants in your sea monkey tanks
I down voted your video at 0:16 for obvious reasons.
