You are right, the eggs are in the 1st package. Plus a few more in Package two. The "instant life" was not more than a marketing gag and a little magic trick. Actually Pack 1 contains eggs and salt for the water. After 24h (it says "let it sit for 24h on the manual) the brine shrimp are hatched. They are just really tiny and hard to spot. So here is where the magic starts! Package 2 contains not only god knows what, but a little bit of blue dye. The dye settles on the tiny shrimps and makes them easier to see. This just looks like they magically appeared after adding package two! Also: I like your water jug! Well.. except for the "X" on it. The rest of its lable is just perfect! :D
Actually, the first pack contains a water purifier to create right conditions for the sea monkeys, leave it for 24 hours then you add the second pack which contains the eggs, the blue stuff I don't know what it is but its fine.
Marimo Moss Balls (algae) work well in this salinity - or at least they do in my tank for brine shrimp. Also some mosses and sturdy Anubias Nana. Very pretty to add plants and adds oxygen naturally. Plants will feed on the faeces of the shrimp.
If you Aqua make the plants over a 24-hour. It's a less of a shock and they will last and live and thrive in that, my mosses and ferns live in really low pH due to the fact that they are in black water tanks, I always have some salt in my water fresh water tanks. Every single body of water has some level of salt. Neat lil gift I hope she loved it.
Bruh this is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been wanting a nano aquarium with some form of life other than plants in it and I never would have thought of sea monkeys! I appreciate the research put into this! Time to go set up a nano tank 😎
Submersed java is one of the easiest plants to dry out when exposed to the air. They are grown emersed as is almost all aquatic plants but that requires multiple daily spraying and high humidity.
There is a problem with the "original salinity" from just the sea monkeys packets. You were right when you said it should be higher. The instructions said 12 oz of water you added it to 64 oz instead. It would have been 5x higher. I'm interested to see how the shrimo hatched/survived.
I just bought sea monkeys as fish food but they are waaay too cute and now I'm looking up all the different videos on how to keep them alive and happy. This was very useful thank you!
@@SirenaSpades Thanks for your input, which is admittedly a bit unclear, since I don't understand what is dumb and how you happen to know what my LFS has in stock. Happy Easter! :)

So they feed on small algae... If there are to much plants that use up all the nutrines, there may be no more for small algea for the brine shrimp =)
Last year I decided to get some brine shrimp (Sea Monkeys brand) because they were on sale and for nostalgia sake. I think you're right, I'm pretty sure the eggs are in the first packet. They didn't live very long though
Wow, actual Pyrex! Corning sold the company, and while European iterations have continued making actual Pyrex (borosilicate,) World Kitchen, in the U.S., manufactures a cheaper product, that is actually less temperature shock resistant than regular glass. I learned that the hard way, while making yogurt, and a cold bath caused a warmed milk and yogurt slurry to shatter. I was fortunately only grazed by the shrapnel, yet others have been less fortunate. Even taking it out of the oven, and exposing it to a room temperature atmosphere can cause it to explode. People have been grievously injured, with slashed arteries, and have gone to the E.R.. Unfortunately, in America, the laws are designed, not to protect individuals from corporations, but the opposite. If you see a Pyrex vessel with capitol letters, it is real. If it features all lowercase, it is a, tragically legal, counterfeit.
Subwassertang is also a good moss for brackish water, You need a bigger, taller container for the Java fern. It's a submersible plant. The super glue will not harm the critters, as I use it to glue moss onto item all the time.
What type of salt did you use? I'm looking at starting up a bigger tank but the small water purifier packet converts to only 300ml of water. My tank would be at least two litres. Its difficult for me to get multiple packs of just the water purifier here in NZ :/
I’m experimenting with java fern windelov with sea monkeys ?!?! And it’s been going good ?! No babies (propagations, or sea monkeys) have died ... yet ♥️😅
You could have just bought the eggs wholesale online, reprinted what is online, and throw in a cute container with spirulina in it. But? you do you...you do it well.
I have used cyanoacrylate to glue on plants in a lot of different tanks and with lots of different fish and shrimps in them and to no ill effect. It has a really pungent chemical smell to it but it is surprisingly non toxic.
Because it takes too long to dry? Or do you want to spray plants for several hours so they don't dry out? Superglue is nontoxic, dries fast and is easier to apply. What's the problem?
Aliza Haru no he used RODI water which means reverse osmosis deionized water. Like a extra af purfication/ distillation process that makes water safe for animals. If you have a marine tank you should always use RODI water. A lot of fish store have it available because they all have RODI systems. A lot of hobbyists keep a system in they’re home
I'm replacing the water and putting them into a bigger jar. Should I add some salt or no? I'm worried the water salinity won't be high enough. I know they only need a little bit. Maybe the water from the last jar will be enough

Dude you went too hard on this. Brine shrimp don't need a specific gravity. 😂😂 my cichlids don't even have that luxury. You should look into echospheres they don't need any maintenance at all.
Brine shrimp are disgusting. I live in utah and they are the only thing that can live in the great salt lake. Walking the beaches there is nothing but small exoskeleton. And the smell of rotten eggs is terrible.

package 1 and 2 are the same just salt and eggs
yeah die in the second one it turns the water a slight blue to help spot the brine shrimp as they grow up to be white / translucent

He f'd up their salinity so he could be lazy with aeration. Thats pretty crappy, why not just use an air pump and have the right salinity

doesn't the glue contaminate the brine shrimp and living plants?
No it shouldn't. Look for cyanacrylate based glue (which is the standard one)
What happen to the monkeys? Did they live wasn't many videos you did on them?
Howd did it come out? Can we get an update?
Could you tell me what glue you used? I'm thinking of attaching java moss to my spiderwood.

DOSE ANYONE KNOW WHERE TWO GET THE RIGHT EGGS FOR THE EGGS YOU CAN GROW TO ADULTS.
Once had a huge colony of brine shrimp, I swear it got bigger by the day...not entirely sure what happened to them other than them dying..
Even the littlest animals are important
I dont think that the plant u used are for saltwater...
You can use any super glue that is a gel based glue. It must be super glue jel.
Aside from super glue you can also just tie it down to the rock with some thread
I’m experimenting with java fern windelov with sea monkeys ?!?! And it’s been going good ?! No babies (propagations, or sea monkeys) have died ... yet ♥️😅
But you want loads of algae! That's what keeps brine shrimp colonies alive and low maintenance, and helps filter the toxins.
Oh and I love your hair, very cute :-)
Is it just me or does that refractometers thing look more like a lightsaber
Did you use tap water or distilled water?
Obviously that pure water that you bought didn't need that dechlorinator it was pure AF anyway.
Should have looked for some macro algae

just a thought, be careful about evaporation, if the water level drops, the salinity will rise accordingly.

A live java fern?

Mangrove. Plus then you get a cool mangrove bonsai
How can blowing a straw give oxygen to them? To use a straw u have to exhale, which means you are breathing in carbon dioxide to them!
when he blows out, exess oxygen is also blown out.
J Sookprasert wrong. It breaks the surface tension of the water which allows gas exchange to oxygenate the water.
Big Stank thx. Knew I said something wrong, but didn't know what it was.
Your body in one breath only consumes a very small percentage of any of the components of air.
We actually exale before we can abcorb all of the oxygen in a single breath because carbon dyoxide is just that poisonous
Pretty sure the #1 packet was the eggs so they could make an excuse to a 1 day waiting for the seamonkeys, and not purifying the water xd
